When I dropped my 5 pound (5 year old) HEALTHY yorkie off at the resort so I could go on vacation with my family in June 2021, I gave them specific instructions with regards to how often she needed fed, the types of food to feed her (all packed in her bag and labeled) and told them that in addition to the food I labeled for herthat she was not to be outside for long periods of time because she was so small. They said it was no problem and were very happy to have her. When I picked her up upon coming back from vacation, they bought her to me. She was physically very hot to the touch from being outside for so long and wet. When I asked why she was wet, they said she was playing in the fountain outside (my dog hated water). Additionally, she was extremely lethargic and the soft food I had given them to feed her was STILL IN THE **** Apparently they offered her the other food I left for her, but the soft food that she lovedthat helped make her more comfortable when I went away was never given to her.I took her home to try and cool her off and get her rested and it was all downhill from there. That night, she began throwing up. She spent the next 3 days in and out of the vet being treated for dehydration and pancreatitisthat was caused by the heat exposure and changes in eating patterns because she wasnt being fed according to the instructions I gave them. Over the 3 days,I spent close to $5k in vet fees, making sure they did everything in their power to help her. I have asked Woofles for reimbursement via my attorney and they never responded.****** continued to worsen despite the vets efforts and had to be put down on 7/2as the inflammation from the pancreatitis had spread throughout her body and caused a lot of issues.Just 48 hours prior to taking her to the pet resort, I had taken her to the vet for a checkupwhere she received a clean **** of health. Never having missed so much as a vaccine or dental cleaning. How was it that my dog, checked into that resort being healthier than most humansended up leaving so sick that she died.Devastation is an understatement as to how this has impacted my life. And despite my efforts trying to work with an attorney, and the humane police officer from the humane societyit seems I keep running into dead ends in terms of accountability because of contracts they have in place when you drop your pet off, limited camera footage to see what actually happenedand general lack of responsiveness from the pet resort.I do not recommend this pet resort, by any means, for any service.

    Woofles Premier Pet Resort Response

During the past few months, several kennels in the area have received much negativity for different levels of animal abuse, neglect and wrongful doing. Each story we have heard about has its own personal details of truth and not so true details. However, not knowing the facts to each story some people have chose to become the judge and jury prematurely; acting with cruelty and by judgement. Knowing that all businesses inevitably and eventually feel the grievance of unsettled individuals the following story you are about to hear is the truth and by no means disregards the feelings of any individuals involved. Woofles Premier Pet Resort holds the greatest regard for peoples feelings, character and compassion for all involved and does not choose to undermine a persons opinion but the facts and truth shall be spoken as we have experienced untruthful and wrongful slander. A dog named ****** lodged with us during the dates June *****, 2021. The registration form his mom filled out listed ****** had a partial collapsed trachea - not an issue, but gets irritated with vigorous play. No other medical conditions were listed at this point. ****** spent the next beautiful 7 days playing inside and outside along with other family pups while the family was away on vacation. As shown in the attached pictures, you can see all the love and attention he received from our staff. On the upper level of the resort where the small dogs free roam, the pups have the availability to go inside and outside when they choose as the full view glass door remains open. As every current clients knows, the Woofles staff tracks every movement, injury, concerns with healthy/safety and behavior issues that arises. Parents are contacted immediately, by myself, the owner, who is personally on site 7 days a week should any concerns arise. ****** displayed zero signs of any medical issues being of concern. He played with the other dogs inside and outside and hung out with his friends. Water is readily available as 18 bowls, 3 pools and a splash pad are displayed throughout the resort plus a fresh water bowl is attached to the personal suite she lodged in. ****** was fed at every meal but only chose to eat a limited amount as mom confessed she doesnt eat well when she is away from mom. Therefore, explaining why she had the leftover food. Sunday, June 27th ****** was picked up by mom and was delighted to see her. She walked out, wagged her tail and greeted mom lovingly. Bensons belongings were given to mom and she lovingly left in moms control. Mom made absolutely no comment as to any concerns what-so-ever. TWO DAYS LATER, I, the owner, was contacted by ******* (Bensons mom) informing me that ****** wasnt feeling well and was taken to the vet. After bloodwork was drawn, ****** was diagnosed with having acute pancreatitis. -Let me stop here and ask you to ****** what acute pancreatitis is-. Pancreatitis is a condition in which digestive enzymes infiltrate pancreatic tissue and force the organ to swell; creating lethargy, poor appetite and throwing up or diarrhea. Canine pancreatitis, untreated, can worsen to the point of becoming fatal. However, ****** had acute pancreatitis confirming this had been going on for a long period of time prior to lodging with us. During treatment, Bensons liver had been damaged and as a result he spent the next few days in critical care. Again, keeping in touch with his progress, Bensons mom reached out to me stating the expense this was costing her. After 6 days of being in ICU, ****** was humanely put down on July 2, 2021. With a deeply saddened heart, I personally reached out and left a voice message for ******* as to my sorrow and broken heart. If you know me personally, you KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT how much of an avid dog lover I am and how this affected me personally. Putting all feelings aside as Candaces heart hurt much greater than anyones, I mailed her Bensons blanket that was left behind along with a sympathy card of such a great loss. You see, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE can take the pain from someone who losses a beloved pet. That feeling I know way to greatly!!! In no way am I unsympathetic to Candaces grieving. Had Woofles had any responsibility in any wrong doing, I would have gladly personally paid for all Bensons expenses and accepted all liability. That is who we are and what we stand for. If you know me, you know without a doubt the compassion I hold for people and pets and there is nothing I wouldnt do for someone who is in need or hurting. I have invested over a quarter of a million dollars into a resort that adores, cares for and pampers our pups. We leave absolutely no stone unturned when your pup stays here. We track everything about every single dog through cameras, photos and reports. We stand proud of who we are and the services we provide. Final messageNow a days, social media makes it too easy for people to judge without any knowledge of the actual evidence and truth. Within this message remains the truth in the story of Bensons passing. The medical records on file can not be changed but the heart of someone who is hurting can be. With our deepest condolences, we are sympathetic to Bensons passing but under absolutely no means has Woofles Premier Pet Resort contributed to this painful loss.
