My mortgage company (Truist/Corelogic) sent Jordan Tax Service an escrow check to pay for my 2022 and 2023 ******* Borough taxes because my property was reassessed. The ***** Tracking number is ************ and was delivered on 5-23-24. The package was signed for by ************************* at Jordan Tax Service. However, ******* in the delinquent tax department says that my payment still has not been received and paid for in 2022 and 2023. The amount that was sent was $1,001.60 that covered both years. If the check and was delivered and signed for, then why are my taxes still showing delinquent for 2022 and 2023?Block/Lot: 40-P-200

I didn't realize my company withheld 3% for local tax, my local tax should be 1% when I completed my income tax return for 2023 back in April. Due to this overpayment, I just discovered I went to the downtown office to file 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 on May 23rd of 2024. I was told by a woman at the downtown office I had already filed 2020 and 2021. She took my returns for 2022 and 2023 and promptly issued me the refunds due. Thank you for that! She informed me that I filed 2020 and 2021 and I would need to contact 'John' at ext 173 either at the McMurry or Bethel Park Office. I have called and left a message on two occasions now and yet to have heard back from John. The name stated at that extension on the voicemail is John, so I believe I contacted the correct person. I also sent an electronic message with these details on May 23rd, 2024. I am 85 years old, and I just don't remember if I deposited the checks or not. I honestly don't believe I did, because if I did, I would have contacted the payroll department and had them fix the withholding error as they were withholding 3% instead of the 1% which is the EIT for Ingram borough, which is where I reside. I would like contacted either my email, which is on my returns, ***************** My son's email: ************************* or at my home phone *************. Its been almost two weeks now and heard nothing back. I don't know what the turnaround times for these issues are so if I am being impatient or unrealistic I do apologize for that. But a simple reply acknowledging my messages and that the issue is being researched shouldn't be too much to ask for. Thank you BBB for helping me in resolving this issue!

I have been disputing alleged delinquent sewage on 1459 ****** Ave *****. In 2015 *** started sending legal paperwork placing liens on the property. My dispute regarded the Centax scandal for ******* and other parties based on the fact, they did not process thousands of payments customers sent to them. **** represented ******* on behalf of residents complaints. JTS agreed to waive all fees. I never received notification of delinquencies which were 2013-2015 according to JTS. However, I received bills from ********, ********** Associates and Centax, which I paid. JTS insisted I must show proof of payment. There was no proof since Centax never processed the payments, no cancelled checks, no checking statement documenting payment. It has been a nightmare dealing with JTS. As of May 2024, I was forced to pay $3,507 to stop a Sheriffs Sale initiated by JTS. This amount was on an alleged Sewage bill of approximately $700. I have repeatedly requested the payment confirmation I had submitted to the Allegheny ************************ for Sheriffs Sale payments, from JTS. I have sent numerous emails, phone calls and cannot receive a documentation of the complete activity on the Sewage account. The accounts for all Dormont Taxes paid through JTS are now in the name of my son, owner of the property. He also had nightmare experience and JTS alleges he owes over $1000 on delinquent accounts. Residents of ******* are protesting JTS and strongly tell Dormont Borough Officials to find a different Tax Collector.2015

The company has been withholding my local income tax for a reason out of my control. My company had made an error (from my understanding), and Jordan tax is punishing me by withholding nearly $800 and have for the last 10 months. This is likely going to happen again due to the fact there has been no resolution thus far. Jordan tax has been uneasy to work with and has made it hard for my company to receive the necessary information for me to receive the funds. It is no fault of my own that the company I work for made a mistake and Jordan Tax feels it is their right to withhold my money, with no justification or fair explanation. Their customer service is less than satisfactory and they seem to have an excuse for anything. Withholding my return is unjust and unethical. It took months for me to get an explanation as to why my income tax return was withheld.

I own 2 properties in Ross Township and have paid Jordan Tax Service for the sewage bill on both properties. Ross Township contracts with Jordan Tax Service for the payment. In November of 2023, Jordan Tax Service started to reject payment on one of the properties. The payment was done as an electronic payment since 12-2022 without incident. My son began paying on the second property around the same time. I contacted Jordan Tax Service multiple times by phone and email, contacted the Ross Township liaison in person twice and multiple times by email. I get no response from the township and Jordan Tax is totally unresponsive to my requests. I went to Sen Lindsey W office and the staff was very helpful and cancelled out the account I was no longer paying. I tried the payment again and it was still rejected. My only recourse at the present time was to go back to paper bill and paper check. Senator W******* office does not handle local issues although the staff was more than willing to help. I asked Jordan Tax for a name/number that I could file a complaint and got no response. I have had a number of contacts with my bank and I have been told that the problem is with Jordan Tax System. I am frequently out of town and cannot get my mail to pay through the paper system. I am at my wits end and do not know where to file a formal complaint to resolve the issue. I have copied and emailed Jordan and Ross township my bank information a number of times. I need some direction as to how to proceed.

We are sorry that Mr. ***** is having problems with the banking system and his account. We are certain that if the payor uses the proper account number and address that is on the invoice it is intended to pay, the payment would be processed in an efficient and timely manner. There is always the option for Mr. ***** to set up an online account so he can view his bills and pay online - he only needs to set up an account for these services. He also has a separate  option for e billing instead of paper bills. You can pay your bill while you are logged into your account or pay directly with the e billing and there is no fee. Mr. ***** can contact our Office or follow the instructions on his bill to set up an account.

Jordan Tax Service, Inc. does not have access to any of your bank account information.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For  details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[I am beyond frustrated with Jordan Tax service.  I attached the bank information on the account that was originally sent to Jordan.  I explained multiple times that the payment at *** was accepted for months without issue as the other account is now being paid by my son.  The bill is in his name and his account number.  I was forced to close out the electronic services, ie, billing and payment, as I am frequently out of town and do not get my mail.  I sent Jordan a copy of the letter I received from my bank when the initial payment was rejected and have been verbally told by my bank that the error is Jordans.  Presently, I paid by mail an amount I assumed would cover the current charge and stopped my electronic account out of necessity.  I appreciate the BBB's help but feel that Jordan will never address the problem adequately. Did Jordan even look at the complaint?  My name is not *****.  I will continue to lobby against Jordan Tax Service as a contracted entity in Ross Township,

      Regards,

      ***** *****

They added interest and fees to sewage bills from 2021 that were from a previous tenant and as the property owner we never received ANY bills to know there were was an unpaid balance. The sewage is delayed by 3 months so by the time the bill is received the tenant is long moved out. No bills were ever sent to property owner and now, over 2 years later we get a bill with threatened of a lien AND shut off if bill isn't paid!! Filed a complaint with the company and were told they can't do anything because there was no inquiry PRIOR to the lien notice? How is any of this ethical? Sounds like an ongoing problem with a crooked company. Not disputing the sewage charges themselves, but the interest added to bills that were never received!

Fees for every payment option. Pay by phone, $3 fee to a third party. Pay online, $3 to a third party. Pay through your bank account bill pay option free! Oh wait, there's a catch. The $ can't just be direct deposited to the JTS account from your bank. The bank has to issue a paper check to them. This takes weeks to clear from your bank account. And if you happen to overdraw your account because of this company's dilly dallying on cashing paper checks??? You guessed it FEES! Absolutely awful company. Running a monopoly, and doing whatever they want. Been this way for years. I truly don't they sleep at night.

I paid my April sewage bill directly from my bank account to JTS. The amount was not applied to my account but to a different account. I have been paying the same way for years. I called my bank. They told me the check was processed and gave me the date. From there I saw the transaction and asked the bank to look into it and to email me and JTS, as per their request. After the emails were sent JTS refused to remove the penalties and fees for a late payment. I paid my May bill the same way. Payment posted no issue. I get a letter in the mail from JTS showing they did research and pulled my payment from the other account and posted the April payment for June. When I contacted JTS again the lady on the phone was very nice. Patty on the other hand was not. Patty is refusing to remove the penalties and fees. I have emailed Patty trying to get an explanation and then asking to speak to a supervisor. The emails are now being unanswered. The last email from Patty was disrespectful to say the least. Patty is blaming me and not JTS for the mistake. I have paid my bill the same ways for over 7 years. There hasn't been a problem. All of a sudden in April it's wrong but they posted the May payment without issue. Makes no sense. I want the penalties and fees removed from my account. That is all. I am still making every payment according to the bills I receive. I refuse to pay penalties when out of over 7 years I've been paying the same way without issue. And Patty needs to get a new attitude and job. She shouldn't be in a position dealing with the public if she can't be decent and obviously doesn't forward emails requesting a supervisor contact to resolve the issue.

Notification by letter on April 5, 2023 of late fees assessed and threat of lien on my property 3 years AFTER (2020) the original sewage services were provided. No bills were sent to the property and hence no payments made. I immediately called and left messages with JTS that were NOT returned and refused to give me invoices via email until I contacted the city manager's office. This took 10 days. I notified past tenants of the bills. Tenants paid within a few weeks They saw the news about the fraudulent and duplicated late fees on WPXI news and so did not include the late fees in their payments. JTS claims I still owe the late fees - I twice requested removal of all late fees in writing and verbally. JTS patently refused. I want all the late fees removed immediately! $307

We received a bill on 5/5/23 from Jordan Tax Service on behalf of Mckees Rocks stating a price raise on a Bill and demanded it be paid by 5/10. the Bill states its a 4/1/23 bill but it was received a month late with no warning that our Bill would be raised so significantly. Mckees Rocks Borough does this a lot and takes advantage of a neighborhood that can't afford huge hikes. Both Jordon Tax services and MRB need to be held accountable for how they bill and their communication.

Jordan Tax Service, Inc. has nothing to due with the amount of the bill - which is set annually by the Borough. We did include a note on the invoices when the new rate was received.
