    I ordered 12 zebra longwing eggs from ***************************** at Tallyho Butterfly Farm on Friday, July 21, 2023 for $15.95.I received the package on July 28, 2023 via *** (******************). The package was not insulated, the small ice pack was hot and leaking, and the eggs were put in a sauce cup with leaves that had turned black from mold. One caterpillar had hatched during shipment but was deceased upon arrival. The remaining eggs were no longer viable. None hatched. I suggested to ****************** a better method of shipping the eggs for future costumers based off of what I've received from other sellers. ****************** said he would ship some caterpillars to make up for the loss of eggs. I questioned him regarding their survival in the summer heat. He insisted he had shipped them before with no issues. He said he would ship them on August 4, 2023 with them arriving on August 6, 2023. However, ***************** of Tallyho Butterfly Farm did not send the package of caterpillars until August 21, 2023 with *** Ground, expected delivery of August 23, 2023 (******************)I did not receive the package until today, August 24, 2023. Inside a regular box -again, not insulated- was 3 sauce cups filled with frass (caterpillar poop) and 4 dead caterpillars. Again, the packaging was not acceptable, and instead of 12 living caterpillars, there were four (4) dead caterpillars. Something else I noted was that neither time did ****************** include a **** permit. In order to ship eggs, caterpillars, chrysalides, and/or butterflies, a ******* permit from the **** must be provided and included. I'm wondering if he has a permit to legally ship them as he stated. I feel I am owed 12 viable zebra longwing eggs from ****************** of Tallyho Butterfly Farm or a full refund of $15.95.

    We apologize for the inconvenience the unsuccessful shipments caused for ****************. We did refund her money on August 24th when she contacted us about this shipment. While we have successfully shipped using uninsulated boxes, in an effort to ensure the highest quality shipments we have moved to using insulated boxes.

    Tallyho issued a refund on August 30, 2023 in reference to complaint ID ********, and I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
