    On April 5, 2022, I contracted with BSM Landscaping and Tree Services (********) for $2,500.00 to have 22 trees edged and mulched. We do this every year. This is the first year we have used BSM. When I contracted with a professional landscape company, I expected the work to be done professionally and correctly. It was not! In less than a month each and every tree had abundant weeds. We have never had this issue before. In less than two months you can hardly tell that the trees had been edged. When we contacted the company they sent the same individual who had done the work out to inspect the job. He had no solutions, only excuses. We requested the owner, Brandon M*******, to personally come out and inspect the sub-standard work. He made an appointment but never showed up. So here we have a situation where the owner of the company cares so little about customer service that he refuses to acknowledge or address customer complaints. I believe anyone should think long and hard before doing business with Brandon M******* and BSM Landscaping.

    Cannot recommend BSM Landscaping for any work. Summary, their costs were high; quality of work mediocre; owner attempted to extort extra money for alleged out of contract work performed without prior authorization. Found the owner and business practices to be deceptive and offensive Contracted them in March-put down a 1/3 deposit Within a week, were asked to come pick out block as it needed to be ordered immediately for work to begin. When we arrived were told that they couldnt match the block, and that we would have to pick another Despite being contracted in March for ***** work crew did not show until mid-June. Immediately began on the low spot while other decisions were made including location of the patio. End of day one were told that there would be an $1,100.00 extra for additional work. We asked why and what was extra. Response was the landing required extra block and time, low spot was not in the original contract despite the contract specifying "fix low spot", the contrasting block was extra. Disagreed with the assessment on the walkway but told them to provide documentation and I would consider the additional costs.The total area installed is 107 square feet (v 108 sf). Reasons for the extra request now begin to change. Owner sent an email with following Extra tier of block was added on retaining walldidnt request it, wasnt necessary, looks poor Removal of boulders there were no boulders More expensive blockmay be true, but never informed of cost differential until after it had been installed Patio required more block cuts than estimatedclaim didnt arise until after the work was done and other claims were rebutted The owner refuses to talk with us. He sends his employees to request the extra payment. Employees have been polite, feel they are being unfairly treated. Seems they have been threatened that they wont get paid until they collect the money. Im not sure thats legal.Bottom line: I cannot recommend BSM LANDSCAPING.

    This review is coming from a guy who shook the employees hand and agreed to the additional cost associated with the work that was completed. Also this employee is the one who quoted his job to begin with and added the additional cost of work that was supposedly agreed upon now the customer is refusing to pay and expects FREE. He asked for an invoice for the additional work, there was a spelling error that was REVISED and sent back to him from boulders to borders for his project which was additional work. His wife requested a different design for the patio the day of which also happened to be more tedious design which leads to more cuts, more time etc. If the 4th tier edge block looks so terrible, customer is more than welcome to drop it off or will he keep that for free to? The landing was not quoted in the contract, the borders were another add on. Again, all the additional work was agreed to and (a hand shake) prior to leaving the job site and now the customer is refusing to pay and writes a poor review.

    There is so much misinformation in the response, it's difficult to know where to begin. First of all, there was no handshake (we agreed to discuss the extra based on time and materials), the supposed handshake was not with the employee who quoted the job, we never refused to pay instead we asked for documentation of the amount requested which the owner would not provide. Instead, we made an offer to settle based on what was fair since the owner would not discuss the extra with us. So far, we have heard nothing back on our offer.The extra items under "consideration" continue to change with each communication/invoice. So far, they include levelling of landing (stated in original estimate) extra edge block on the short retaining wall (which I would return if it hadn't been cemented in place), boulders, different colored pavers, different patio shape, extra poly sand, etc. . . regardless of the changing reasons, the $1,100 amount of the request doesn't change.Once again, we have offered to resolve this and have put a number on the table and would appreciate a face-to-face discussion to see actual time and materials being claimed but the owner (who actually did the original estimate) won't meet with us however, he is willing to put up a bogus response. Dealing with this guy is a nightmare, we can't recommend BSM.
