I was a member of ************ for 40+ years, They were fantastic. Never had an unpleasant experience. And then Clearview took them over. The changeover was a nightmare. I had 300 Parkview checks that were unusable (Clearview gave me 25 of theirs and an "Oh well"). These Parkview checks all went into the rubbish since they told me I only had a month to use all of ******* addition the changeover was a nightmare. It took me hours on-line to transfer all my pay/receive accounts with no help from Clearview. I had to individually contact everyone with all the new account info.Their Bill *** is a JOKE. I schedule a payment for a certain date and if I'm lucky they actually pay it in 4-7 days. Trying to get any info on-line about anything is impossible. The on-line chat box is no help at all. Generic questions are all it can respond to. E-mail Clearview with a question and I may get a reply in 3-4 days.Their local *** will only give $50 bills for any denomination requested over $50. If you want a payout in 20's you have to enter $40 and make multiple transactions for an $80 or $120 withdrawal. When asked why the *** does this, the response is "It may be replaced next year, come inside for a withdrawal." (More or less defeating the purpose of and *** machine). The old Parkview *** asked you how you wanted the withdrawal but I guess that machine got scrapped instead of reprogrammed with Clearview info. They also told me I could drive ************************************************************ 20's. WHAT?If it wasn't such a hassle I would switch banks tomorrow. I wish I had done this initially when they bought out ******** had I known how dissatisfied I would be with Clearview.Clearview Federal Credit Union

Thank you for your comments. We're sorry hear that your experiences after the approved merger did not meet your expectations. Clearview strives to provide timely communications leading up to the actual merger date in an effort for a smooth transition. One of the communications regarding "checking accounts" provided information on how to update electronic monetary transactions from others using a quick method referred to as QuickSwitch; this could have help avoid all of the individual calls. If you have any additional questions or concerns, or even help with *******, please contact our ****************** at ************, they'd be happy to provide assistance.Review fromJAMES G

***** G Every time they do a upgrade to online banking it's a nightmare. Especially when it comes to the **** ***** section. Try to navigate that section is a nightmare. Even deletes some data Then when you call for help no one answers and the voice recording asks if you would like a call back. Good luck with that. You won't be getting a call back Getting ready to move over to ************Clearview Federal Credit Union

Horrible credit union to even open an account with... the employees accused me of fraud and were extremely passive aggressive and stonewalling me every step of the way when i offered evidence against the fraud claim they accused me of and the employees said "i can't accept personal emails"... that clearly was not what i was sending...i sent it to the support email she gave me and they were so confused and did not know where to send the email i forwarded from another institution clarifying that i did not deposit the check in question with their bank... I've heard some reports of egregious conduct from clearview employees, discriminatory actions and lying to me about what the true reason was that a nine day hold was executed on my legal UC check from the *********************************** when they finally realize that they're in the wrong I'm sure i won't receive any apology and be treated negatively and have false reports washed against me bc the whole credit union is corrupt in their procedures of handling the process incorrectly and then they accuse me of false allegations which is a criminal charge and if i need to file a police report i am gladly going to do so... there is nothing good about this company... they do not have skilled workers that follow protocol correctly either and they stonewall people from getting the money that is rightfully theirs from what other complaints that have been made say... this is not legal for them to lie outright and falsely report key facts and then deny the me the remedy to show them exactly where they are wrong and i am not committing any illegal acts... false reports to law enforcement is a mandatory thirty day jail sentence so i would hope this CFCU fraud lady would be cautious of the words exiting her mouth bc i have no qualms about filling a police report based upon her intimidating slanderous words which has placed an undue emotionally distressful situation for me and my children... all criminal acts in her part...Clearview Federal Credit Union

This is by far the absolute WORST banking experience I have ever had. They are extremely inconsiderate and make up new rules on the fly. I cannot wait to get my account to a $0 balance to close this account. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. I detest this banking experience.Clearview Federal Credit Union

After a review of the account, it was determined that a hold was placed on a joint relationship account due to the checking account being below zero. A representative from our collections area explained to our member why the hold was placed on the joint owners account (right to offset policy). Our representative also spoke to the joint owner explaining why a hold was on their account a few days earlier than the conversation with the member.Review fromDan P

Clearview Federal Credit Union left me stranded when they closed my debit/checking account because of late payments on an unrelated credit card account. I did not receive any notice of this via phone or email. I would like to warn any potential customers of their policies as this has affected my family which is currently experiencing some health and financial hardships.Clearview Federal Credit Union

In October 2023, 6 phone call attempts and 3 emails were directed to the member regarding her account, including the credit card, which is also a part of her overall membership with Clearview. In addition to the calls and emails, a letter regarding the account status was mailed on October 10, 2023. All attempts were done based on contact information on her account. Our member did make contact with us twice on November 1, 2023; our Member Resolutions area was able to explain the full status of her account. We are empathetic of our member's current situation, and made every effort to reach the member.Review fromJerrod G

Clearview's policy is to post all electronic ACH deposits and make them available the same day they are received. A review of our member's history shows receipt, posting, and immediate availability of deposits on Friday 6/30/2023, Thursday 7/20/2023, and Tuesday 7/25/2023 at 5pm each of those days. There were no holds placed.Review fromKayla S

I have had clearview since I was 16. I am now 32. Never had a problem with them til this year. I am going thru a nasty divorce and our joint acct went negative well my husband had me a SAHM so I wasnt working. My husband moved his pays to his acct. so when I opened my personal acct I was using it but then clearview took my joint acct and thru it into my personal acct. so the negative place then went into my personal acct then today I go to close my two kids savings with them and found out that they took my kids money to pay for my negative acct. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE! Those are minors a that was money they worked hard for to save up for college or a car when they are older I am beyond mad at this bank and I will never ever use them for anything ever again. I will never recommend them to anyone either.Clearview Federal Credit Union

When an account goes negative, we attempt to reach out to the member until day 45 of being negative. Once the member is negative for 45 days, we then charge off the account. When an account is charged off we transfer all funds from accounts they are joint on to reduce the negative balance. We make these transfers per our Terms and Conditions. We made 12 attempts to contact the member prior to charge off. These attempts included calls, emails, and letters. We were unable to reach the member despite our efforts. We followed procedures and moved funds to offset the balance. The account was charged off on 5/15/2023. On 5/26/2023 the member called in to our 866 number and explained what was going on. At that point we were unable to offer assistance, as the account had been charged off by that point.Review fromEvan P

Atrocious product and online experience. DO NOT USE CLEARVIEW FCU. Their online portal is nearly impossible to use IF you can even successfully log in. I had to have several conversations with their support because I was paying my card off in a way they did not even know existed, for example. Unlike every other credit card in the world, if you have a zero balance on your card for a time (they couldn't define how long) they will CANCEL YOUR AUTOPAY and you will end up being accidentally delinquent. Why any bank would do this is beyond me. Why a bank that does this wouldn't have the decency of removing the knock to your credit report as a result is equally insane. Never mind the 6 years of perfect payment history and the less than $100 overdue balance. This bank is 25 years behind in all things online. I've never had to speak to ANYONE at the several other banks I've used in the past to successfully bank online, I've had 6-10 phone calls with clearview on the back of their terrible online experience. I still can't login and the last person I spoke with wasn't even able to help me. As the kicker, you also can't cancel your card like every other credit card in existence and you have to send them a letter or appear in person to cancel. Clearview FCU is a massive waste of time with no benefits. I strongly recommend using any other real bank instead.Clearview Federal Credit Union

Based on a review of our members personal account as it relates to credit card activity, the last activity and login in was November 2020. At that time, Easy Pay, an automatic transfer method, was set to pull money from another financial institution to pay the Clearview credit card. There has been no activity on the card for over two years. Statements with no activity are not sent to members. In addition, the Easy Pay/autopay is removed. The statements sent after charges in February and March were sent to the mailing address on file at that time, and then returned by post office due to the incorrect address and no forwarding policy. For security purposes, statements are not forwarded based on any forward mailing instructions with the post-office. Contact was made with the member by our member resolutions department three times in May regarding past due payment. The card is currently paid off and closed as of June 1, 2023.Review fromLawrence L

Will never use again. I had a car loan with them that I paid off. I had to drive to a branch to pay off the loan and when I was there I closed the account. I was told I was completely done with them. Got a statement from them saying it was paid off and the title for the car. A month later $500 was deducted from my account by them. When I called they told me my account was closed but for some reason the withdrawl still happened. They told me I could either wait for a check in the mail or drive back out to the branch to get my money back. They refused to put it back in my account. This is ridiculous. They stole $500 from my bank account, without my authorization and then would not give it back rhe way way they took it. When asked to speak with a manager, I was told someone would call me back and no one has. If I would walk into a branch and take $500, I would be arrested. I couldn't tell them don't worry, I'll send you a check in a week. Terrible company, terrible business practices, do not do business with them.Clearview Federal Credit Union

We are sorry for our members experience. The loan payment of $500 was a recurring transfer from another financial institution to Clearview; this was set up within the members online banking external transfer feature. Unfortunately, due to the payoff and account closing happening on the same day, the loan was not listed on a maintenance report that would automatically expire the recurring external transfer. The initial conversation with the member triggered the refund by check, and it was placed in the mail. Due to the timing, the mail pickup had occurred and the item could not be retrieved. In an effort to send the refund electronically the next day, additional contact was made with the member providing an option to receive the funds quicker even though the check was already sent by ***** Member opted to wait for the check in the mail. Clearview strives to create positive experiences. Using member comments is one way for ** to look at a current process and make it even better. An internal solution is already underway that would help avoid this in the future.
