On approximately July 22, 2023 I took my car to be serviced for a check engine light coming on. After their diagnostic report they claim that it was due to a camshaft sensor issue along with having the oil changed only to find out two months later, that oil was never changed has not been changed in a very long time. The garage I ended up having to have my car towed to checked my vehicle to see why that service engine light was coming on again to tell me that there was about a quarter of a quart of oil in my car along with the fact that it was so black and so thick that he could guarantee that oil has not been changed in a long time. When I called performance Kia, the manager was rude and basically told me if I hired any attorney that his attorneys would eat my attorneys alive and then hung up on me. The garage that I took my vehicle to that told me I had no oil in my car took pictures. And that the issue with the engine light and why I was getting the diagnostic that I was getting was because of having no oil in my vehicle.

I tried going to kia to explain there was no issue til they touched my car. There reply was its not their problem that they didn't touch my plastics. I went to this business to purchase a brand new Kia ******** 2023 in June 1st of 2022. I had previously leased a 2020 Kia ******** and had a good experience with the vehicle. In less than 6 months around December 2022, I noticed that the Check Engine light came on on this brand new vehicle. I returned to the dealer for scheduled maintenance and the light was no longer there, it turned off before the appointment. Over the past 4 months since then the light has turned on for days at a time and then back off. Everytime I get an appointment the light turns off so they tell me everything seems to be fine and that it might be caused by lose gas cap. Also on Dec 31 2022, the car randomly and unexpectedly stalled and would not accelerate while driving on the expressway on the way to a *** gathering. After using the in-vehicle roadside assistance to request a tow truck (an hour and a half wait for one to reach me) and waiting about 20min, the check engine light turned off again and the car seemed to return to normal. I believe that this has been far too many times the check engine light to display on a brand new vehicle. Incidentally this last time I took the vehicle for scheduled maintenance, again they found no issues regarding engine light but I was however told that my tires needed to be replaced, all four! Changing all tires after owning a vehicle for 9 months is unbelievable. For reference the leased vehicle I had previously did not require a single tire change throughout the length of the lease. For all these reasons I would like the dealership to provide me with a different vehicle exchange. All of the issues I'm experiencing and the dealers lack of motivation to find a resolution to fix the problems has led me to contact BBB. Especially considering the $39,740.41 price tag I'm still paying for the vehicle. My account number with ********************** is ************. Please contact me for any further information. Thank you.

I went to Performance Kia on or about July 20, 2022 after seeing an advertisement promising that they would pay off my existing loan and give me $6,000.00 more than the KBB on my vehicle, which turned out to be a bold faced LIE! I was told that they would not be able to pay off my loan or trade in my vehicle because it would result in negative equity (I had an existing loan on my vehicle I was looking to trade in) because I would not be able to be approved for a new loan. I took all my paystubs and income information and was originally told that I would have to put down $2,390.00 as a down payment for approval. I was then told I wasn't approved via any of their regular financing but that I would be approved for their inhouse financing which would mean a lower down payment and as long as I made my payments on time, it would boost my credit (almost like a buy here, pay here). When meeting with the sales rep, I told them I would like to keep my payments around $450.00. My down payment was never decreased. I was having issues getting a loan for the down payment but was still told to sign the contract. Despite not having put a down payment down on the vehicle, I was given a dealer plate and allowed to drive off the lot with the new vehicle. After approximately 5 days, I informed the sales person that I was unable to secure the down payment and that I needed to return the vehicle and I was told to come up to the dealership to see what they could do about getting me into the car with $0 down, which again was a lie. I explained to the sales manager that I was unable to come up with the down payment and was told that I was unable to return the car (despite being within 14 day return/cancellation period) and was in essence told that I either needed to come up with the $2,390.00 all at once or I could split it into 2 payments I ended up splitting the down payment but only paid $600.00 as I was scheduled to pay the remaining $1790.00 30 days later but ended up losing my job.

Well this all started when my husband got an email stating that they wanted to offer us an invitation to see about trading our car in and getting a new car due to the fact that they are in need of our car for their inventory. On Tuesday October 11,2022 we went down gave them all of our information and was told that we were approved but they need an another signature to help push it through. We asked numerous times will this person be on our loan, registration and insurance and we were told no once it goes through that person would be pushed off to the side and it would only be in our names. So we asked our son if he could do it and he agreed as long as he wasn’t going to be on the car at all. So again the day our son filled out the application we were told yet again that he wouldn’t not be on the car whatsoever. Ok we didn’t think was right we my husband again said to him are sure he won’t be on the loan well appartently this Billy from the loan department told the sales rep we were working with that he better make sure we understand that our son would be on our loan. When we went down to talk to them in person Billy called us liars and claim that was never said I told him to call my daughter because the sales rep we were working with (Sean) told her the same thing because we asked her first to sign for us. We told Billy over and over again that is not what Sean said to us, I looked as Sean and said don’t make me look like a fool and he wouldn’t say anything so we told them no deal told them they were trying to commit fraud. When we walked out Billy came outside after us calling us liars. They are trying to trick customers into having a co-signer and not telling the customers exactly what they are doing.

9/3/22 Purchased new car , Price was 10000 over MSRP was told by salesman it would even out because they were going to give me 40% over ***** Blue Book for my car . They did not . I was also told I was going to have so much equity in the car I do not . I was also told I would be able to sell the car for what I bought if for after a year . I put a significant amount of money down also . I now have a car that I am already underwater on . I have never been so blatantly lied to at car dealership and I have been buying new cars for about 40 years . I has been at a different car dealer earlier in the day and they offered me the same amount for my trade that I got from this dealer so no I did not get 40 % over the Blue Book amount . I went to complain to the dealer and see if we could come to some type of resolution but I was talked to like I was a child . I asked for an explaination of why I was charged so much and what extras I got for the additional money, They have not responded to any emails that I have sent . I am a senior citizen and I do not appreciate being taken advantage of .

I had purchased a KIA with a warranty. I had to have repair services done outside of KIA for which I was to be reimbursed. I filed the claim with all of the paperwork to where I was supposed to file it in March. I have called over five times to see where the reimbursement is but I am not getting anywhere with them, although they said it was approved in May. KIA case number ********. I keep being told four to six weeks but it's been five months.

I traded my vehicle in for my (ex) boyfriend to get a vehicle, they had me sign a lot of documentation, when I went back and requested documentation about how much they brought my vehicle off of me for, or any documentation that I sign, they refused to give me any documentation without my ex boyfriend present and continue to tell me they gave me documentation, when I didn’t even get a copy of any paperwork I sign… all I want is documentation that they paid 25,400 for my vehicle, and on top of all of that they run my credit the day he purchased a car without my persmission.

I am writing about my experience from May 7th through May17th and through today with Performance Kia, Moosic Pa. They failed to process My Military Cash Rebate and now refuse to honor a verbal contract.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/06/2022

After reviewing the nature of the complaint we have determined that it was an over site of the dealership at the time of transaction.  We have issued said customer a rebate check and mailed it out to him.  For his less than perfect visit we also gave him a cargo cover for his brand new vehicle. If there are any further questions or concerns our client has my direct contact info so they can be addressed in a timely and satisfactory manner.
