Had a good experience until ****** Properties purchased the complex in 2020. Since it has really gone hill, apartment buildings smell, not cleaned regularly as they were before. The worst part however was when my 2-bedroom apartment was infested with silverfish. Silverfish are a type of pest that are very alarming to find as they typically mean something is damp. Being on the third floor it was unusual to find these let alone on the high ceilings. We emailed the property manager a few times about the problem but we never received a response. Over the course of the months we started to notice them more and more and at one point were finding upwards of **** a day. They were mainly in our master bedroom, so the last 6 months of our lease we slept on the couch in the living room, as that was the only place we did not find them. What was even worse was they were on high ceilings, leaving two options: smash or spray them, obviously neither is preferred splatter on the wall or inhale raid. Finally as covid started to decrease In the area we went down to the office to find that we had a completely new property manager and the one we had been emailing hadnt been there for months. We explained everything to the property manager and at this point I had done plenty of reading about silver fish to find that they were likely eating through the paper dry wall, the insulation in the wall, and anything else with cellulos or paper product. I explained that if we were finding 7+ a day that could mean there are thousands. As we started to take a closer look we noticed small cracks opening along the walls and often this is where we wild find the bugs. We were told it was just the foundation settling, meanwhile the building was 7 years old and cracks simply do not open up that way. I was watching specific cracks each day and noticing them quickly grow. The company had the cracks patched and but this did not solve the problem as they continued to tel me it would. I explained that I was worried about potential water damage on the roof, we lost shingles in the spring and silver fish are attracted to damp areas were shingles once were. It did not matter, I clearly did research and they clearly did not really care about the issue. We have since moved out and during the move out we still found silver fish running around the walls. The apartment is also already listed to be rented in 2 weeks, as if there is not an infestation in the apartment. They allows us to break our lease without penalty but it seems they just wanted to get us out of there and try to cover up the problem rather than fix the infestation at hand.
