      I was charged a $75 fee incorrectly in November of 2024. My wife and I have been calling to get the charge removed since the bill was received in December 2024. We have been assured multiple times by their office it was corrected but their billing office says the ************** never informed them to remove the charge and the account is in danger of collections. There should be a $20 credit not a $55 balance.

      Hello,
      I completely understand the frustration of the patient. I had agreed to waive the $75 no-show fee for the November 2024 appointment, and this was documented in the patients chart. Since then, weve transitioned to a new electronic health record system and updated our payment processing system. I spoke with our new billing department to ensure the $75 fee would be removed and a $20 credit would be applied to the account. Unfortunately, this update was not made on their end, and another statement was sent to the patient.
      As billing is handled outside of the office, I was unaware of the mistake, and I was out of the office when the patients wife repeatedly called. Today, I followed up with our billing department to ensure the $55 balance is removed and the $20 credit is applied. I have also reassured the patient and their wife that they will not be sent to collections, as Journey Healthcare would need to initiate that process, which will not happen due to this error.
      Ive spoken with the patients wife again today to confirm this and explained that collections will not be involved. If another statement is sent, which I am working to prevent, I will immediately contact the billing department to correct it once more and continue to reassure them it will not be sent to collections.
