I went to Sue’s custom dressmaking and tailor shop on August 6, 2022 with my wedding dress for simple alterations. I was charged 350$ and told to come back on Sept 17 for a fitting. At that time, I was told it would be done and ready for pick up on Oct 29 for my wedding scheduled Nov 12. It was not done in Oct. in fact, there was nothing changed about the dress except the length, and they had fully removed the zipper and all the buttons (something I thought may be part of the process of bringing it in). The new pick up date was Nov 9 — three days before my wedding. I picked it up and it was horrific. They didn’t have me try it in at the store. I took it home - the photos can show how horrible their work was and that the dress didn’t fit. Luckily, I had a bad feeling and bought a second hand dress after my last fitting which is what I wore to my wedding. I paid 350$ and this shop destroyed and took parts from a 1100$ wedding gown. The reason I am reaching out to the BBB, however, is that I left an honest review to hopefully prevent another bride from the same horrible experience. The owner LIED in response and claimed it was a tailor in an entirely different town. I live near this tailor. I am not confused - and I have a bank statement listing a 350$ payment to this shop on Aug 6. They need to remove the lies about another tailor - its a lie and it’s defamation. Accept the bad review for bad work. The owners daughter has also been harassing me sending messages on social media demanding that I remove my review. I won’t be doing that. It’s an honest review with photos. Please help me make sure this company does not blame another company for their poor work. It’s wrong, unethical, and I suspect illegal. Thank you
