I was operated on by Dr. Matthew Pepe. I had blisters on my leg, I asked how'd this happen. He shrugged his shoulders and said I don't know. I had a municus surgery. I say at home for 9 days. Unaware that I needed to be in Physical therapy. Then tried to go back to right his wrong. ( Like being at a restaurant sending food back, not a good idea ). Now I have a permanent bend which is painful. This Dr is a HACK DONT ALLOW HIM TO DO SURGERYRothman Orthopaedic Institute

Rothman's billing department is a mis-managed mess. They sent me to collections without ever sending me a bill. Now months later, after I paid off my balance, I get another collections notice. My surgeon and treatment was great but their billing is a disaster.Rothman Orthopaedic Institute

I arrived at 8:15 for my 8:30 appointment for my shoulder at Rothman on Old Lancaster Road in Bryn Mawr. I did not have my wallet and told the woman at the front desk that I would pay a soon as I returned home. She told me that I could not see the doctor until I paid my $40.00 co pay and that I owed $188.00 from April 2023. When I asked what invoicel she was speaking of she said she didn't know and that I would have to contact billing. When I finally got a hold of billing Sabrina told me that she didn't know either but would escalate the matter to her manager who would call back by Thursday. I never received a call by Thursday afternoon so I called and spoke with Maggie late Thursday afternoon. She said she would escalate the matter to her manager and that the manager would call me by the end of the day. No one ever called me. I had to call on Monday, November 13th only to find out that the bill was for an x-ray they never submitted to my insurance, but did submit on November 8th. By the way both Maggie and Sabrina said that I should have never been refused service. I felt embarrassed in front of other patients not to mention losing valuable time and money that I cannot get back from work. My shoulder is still hurting and I will be seeking treatment from another facility and possible litigation for the embarrassment and loss of monies.Rothman Orthopaedic Institute

I did speak with Kaitlyn on 11/28 at around 1:15pm. The issue was never resolved. As I mentioned to Kaitlyn, who will be reimbursing me for my lost time and the embarrassment of being refused service for absolutely no reason. This is unacceptable.Review fromChristine B

I had an appointment at Rothman on June 30, 2023. At that appointment I scheduled a total knee replacement surgery for November 13, 2023. For over 4 months I have been making arrangements and plans around having my surgery on that date. Here it is the last business day before I am to go in to surgery this coming Monday and I find out for the first time that you all rescheduled my surgery for two weeks later WITHOUT EVER TELLING ME ABOUT THE CHANGE. I had my physical, EKG and blood work done on October 18th so they would all be within the 30 days prior to my surgery and I am now being told that I have to do all that but the EKG again because they did not tell me that they rescheduled my surgery. I cannot tell you how angry I am about their completely upending my life by making this change WITHOUT EVER TELLING ME. How is it possible that they would reschedule a major surgery and not only not ask me if the new date was OK with me (which obviously never happened), they did not even tell me that they rescheduled it. I would not have even found out if I had not made calls today to find out what time I was supposed to show up on Monday. Which apparently now is two weeks from Monday. If I didn't like my surgeon there so much I would definitely go somewhere else for the surgery after being jerked around so badly.Rothman Orthopaedic Institute

We've been going to Rothman for years but they are going downhill fast. They have turned into a factory. (1) Had 2 appointments recently, took a long time to get called back and then waited almost an HOUR for the doctor to come into the exam room both times. I stepped out of the exam room to see if they forgot about us and everyone looked at me like I was rude and impatient for asking. You get a meek apology when the doctor comes in and then he just continues with the appointment while you are sitting there furious at how much of your time they have wasted. (2) Asked for some kind of paperwork, receipt, any kind of record of the appointment on the way out and was told "they don't do that, it's their policy." WHAT?! I have never been to a doctor's office where they couldn't give you some kind of paperwork on the way out. They literally made me fill out a records request and sent me an entire packet of all of my records in the mail that I HAD TO PAY FOR. (3) I then received a gigantic bill in the mail that did not reflect that I have insurance coverage, it was listed as self pay. (4) When I called the billing department, they were "experiencing large volume of calls," so the only option they give you is to go online and request a call back. You can't even leave a voicemail. They can't even have a human answer the phone. I could not be more disappointed with Rothman at this point.Rothman Orthopaedic Institute

So they didn't comment on any specifics about overbooking appointments, wait times or paperwork policies. Just a generic apology and I should reach out to them and waste more of my time. Nothing will change. Very disappointing.Review fromRICKY R

DR.SELENE P***** HAS THE MOST AMAZING BED SIDE MANNERS AND PROFESSIONALISM. I WAS A ELITE RUNNER 3RD PLACE ON MY AGE GROUP IN NEW JERSEY STATE, IN SEPTEMBER 2022. I EXPERIENCED AN INCREDIBLE SHARP PAIN UNDER MY LEFT FOOT WHILE GETTING UP FROM MY CHAIR AT WORK IN NEW YORK CITY AFTER 2 VISITS TO MY FORMER SPORT ORTHOPEDIC HE DIAGNOSED ME WITH AVASCULAR NECROSIS OF MY LEFT TALUS BONE. MY ORTHOPEDIC DOCTOR STATED THAT I WOULD EVENTUALLY LOOSE MY FOOT. THEN I PROCEEDED TO GET SEVERAL OTHER OPINIONS (4) TO BE EXACT FROM NYU-LANGONE HEALTH, NY PRESBYTERIAN SPECIAL SURGERY AND HSS IN NY, AND (2) OTHER DOCTORS IN NEW JERSEY. THEY ALL CAME TO THE CONCLUSION OPTION (1) AMPUTATION OR FUSION OF MY FOOT. THIS WAS NOT THE OPTION I WAS HOPING FOR. I STARTED DOING INTENSIVE SEARCH I CAME UPON A COMPANY (PARAGON 21) AND I PROCEEDED TO REACH OUT TO THEM EXPLAINING MY HEALTH SITUATION. TWO DAYS LATER THEY ADVISED ME TO REACH OUT TO DR.P**** AT ROTHMAN ORTHOPEDICS INSTITUTE. I MADE THE APPOINTMENT EVEN THOUGH, AT THIS POINT I FELT DEFEATED AND ADAMANT THAT DR.SELENE P***** WOULD TELL ME THE SAME SAD STORY AS THE LAST (6) DOCTORS HAVE. TO MY SURPRISE DR.P***** GAVE ME GAVE ME THE OPTION OF A TOTAL TALUS REPLACEMENT. ALTHOUGH I HAD TO BE PATIENT AND WAIT SIX PLUS WEEKS FOR THE TALUS REPLACEMENT TO BE CUSTOM MADE, IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT CONSIDERING ALL THE OTHER OPTIONS I WAS GIVEN. I WILL BE FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR DR.SELENE P**** FOR SAVING MY LIMB AND GIVING ME THE QUALITY OF LIFE BACK. I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DR P**** AND ROTHMAN ORTHOPEDICS FOR THEIR PROFESSIONALISM AND CARE. I WANT TO SAVE ANYONE ELSE THE TROUBLE THAT I ENDURED WHO IS GOING THROUGH THE SAME HEALTH ISSUE AS I HAVE.Rothman Orthopaedic Institute

I was scheduled for Trigger Finger surgery today with Dr Kistler. After numbing my hand, I was told he would see me in 25 to 30 minutes. In the mean time, the nurse had me change into a gown, etc. She then took my glucose reading and said it was high. I have high sugar, but this has never been an issue with me as far as getting anything done, I've had diabetes for a long time and it doesn't really effect me as it does other people. That being said, the nurse left the room and was gone for a considerable amount of time. I knew something was up. Well, needless to say, the doctor came into the room and before he said a word, I said to him " I'll bet you're not going to do the surgery ". He said yes and started to say it was because he was afraid I would get an infection, etc. I told him that I've had my body for 69 1/2 years and I Never get infections because I have an immune system. So now I have a numb hand, and still have trigger finger. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE!!! HE LOST A PATIENT!!! It's amazing that a doctor that you have had personal contact with for a total of about one hour in the past year and a half thinks he knows more about your body than you do. They're so afraid of lawyers that they will put their own well being ahead of their patients.Rothman Orthopaedic Institute

If you have over an hour to wait for an appointment, it may be fine. I didn’t so I wouldn’t know the quality of Dr. Reeves at Lake Nona location. It’s ridiculous to not even give patients an idea as to how long they would have to wait for a scheduled appointment.Rothman Orthopaedic Institute
