******** customer service, and rip off!!!!! I went to take a look at Vantage on ************ in *****, **. I worked with ****** an i explained to her that I want an apartment on the lake with natural sunlight. I applied and was approved. I call in a couple days later on the on Wednesday, April 1/2 to do a walk-through of the apartment I was supposed to rent, no one answered, and I was forwarded to off-site receptionist who made notes and sent email to main office to get back with me, which no one did.... I called twice. On Friday, time is becoming a crunch as I had to be out of my apartment. I call them to ask about the process of getting keys and moving in only to find out that the apartment was scheduled for move in on a Sunday and the office was closed on Sunday, and they dont allow move-ins on this day. They finally ***** my lease for me to move in on Saturday to and come to find out that it wasn't the one i initially applied for! I went into the office to sign my lease because of the technical difficulties on the system behalf. After signing the lease, and given the keys to the apartment i realized that this apartment has no natural sunlight or nor was on the lake as I exclaimed i wanted to ****** on my initial visit to the to do a tour! I immediately and went back to the office to let ****** know that i was satisfied with the apartment and i didnt want it(this is minutes after signing the lease). she told me that i would have to wait until Monday to talk to someone who could handle the situation.... i immediately left in disappointment. after leaving i typed an email stating the situation to the powers to be stating that i was not satisfied with the apartment and i no that i signed longer want to rent here. I also called and left a VM which no one returned my call. i finally call on Monday to get the situation resolved, and ****** tells me that i have to pay to break the lease and did not refer me to speak w/ powers to be..***** which was in the office...Independence Realty Trust, Inc

Terrible , BEWARE MAINTENANCE MEN COMING IN CLOSED OFF ROOMS IN YOUR HOME .i had an issue with my air conditioner leaking , the issue was only in the hallway . The issues happened on Sunday you are unable to get in touch with the maintenance if its not normal business hours . So no one came to fix my issue until today which is Wednesday . Maintenance has the ok to come into my home without calling im completely fine with that , but opening closed doors especially when there is no problem in the rooms with the closed doors is an issue. Im sleeping in my room but i eventually wake up due to the power tools being loud . After im sitting up in my bed for a minute my door k*** twists and open . I asked who was that , he stated maintenance. I asked why is he in my room . His response was Im glad i opened the door . I was trying to see if someone was home. A simple knock wouldve done just fine . I go around to the office , the office staff ********* stated that he was trying to check a vent temperature .Thats bait due to the fact that when i had gotten up to see exactly which maintenance man was in my home he was gone . No vents had gotten checked . I do not know what that maintenance man intentions were but he was not going to check a vent cause if that was apart of him finishing the job it wouldve gotten done and he wouldnt have left when he realized someone was home . Im sure everyone in the office is looking out for each other but i was not okay with how they didnt think this is an issue and was brushing it offIndependence Realty Trust, Inc

Waterstone at ********* is the biggest joke. Maintained very poorly, staff doesnt care to take care of requests from tenants. Maintenance requests are opened and then closed with nothing being resolved. Dog s*** everywhere, not to mention aggressive dogs that were never done anything about. Ant infestations left untended too. Nasty pool and pool area, cigarettes everywhere, never seen a piece of toilet paper in the pool house. Grills do not work. Dogs allowed inside the pools. Kids damaging property. Gym had no AC for over a year. Trash area is insanely disgusting and over filled. Car wash didnt work for the 2 years I was a resident. The dog spa I wouldnt put a rabid raccoon in there its disgusting. Never been cleaned since it was built im positive. Absolutely would NOT RECOMMEND LIVING HERE. I would give this place a negative 1000 stars if I could. i live at the shores in ***. within the first 2-3 weeks of living here, black mold was found. I put a request in and no one showed up until I went up to the office. once maintenance showed up I was told that they would be spraying a biocide on it to " clean it off". they left and never came back to "clean it". its been 5 months and they only now decided to cut into it because I sent an email to complain about this place to the regional director. The same day I spoke to a few other people here that also complained about mold in their apartments. on that SAME day, I had a meeting with faith and she lied to my face about there not being any other open black mold cases. a few days later a contractor showed up to my apartment to cut out the black mold, the wall was cut into using a powered tool , there was no containment with plastic walls to block the work area, and there was no negative air machine to stop the spread of spores into the air. my apartment could potentially be contaminated at this very moment and my family is being exposed to it. after maintenance cleaned our water heater closet I decided to check in there. low and behold, MORE MOLD, and they didn't even report it back to me. all I want is for this place to waive the 2 month notice and fee to break my lease but I have been denied that option by the office and director. BEWARE I am NOT the only resident with this issue!!!!!!!!Independence Realty Trust, Inc

I wouldnt recommend my dog to stay over here. They dont own up to there mistakes the management team ***** and dont care. I must say maintenance and **** in the office is a gem. My car got broke into twice due to the gates not working good luck getting reimbursed or anything cause they dont care and corporate just as worst if I could rate a 0 I would RUNNNNN FROM THESE APARTMENTSIndependence Realty Trust, Inc

If I could put 0 stars I would as I am disappointed so far in how I've been treated since moving here. I believed this would be a wonderful beginning to a better life as I had heard wonderful things but boy was a strong facade painted which created disillusionment in my mind. I signed my lease in february with a move in date of april 16th. I am a section 8 resident. I never received a tour of the facility or full layout of rules and notices. I also overheard maintenance say since I was section 8 that it didn't matter if the apartment was up to par with how it should be and that I would't care. wrong. I am a single mother, both whom have health issues.. upon my move in date that was the first time I saw the place and with my first inspection there were many things wrong specifically the painting, the carpets needing replaced and also floor boards with nails protruding not properly and safely attached to the walls. I have a 15 year old who is autistic with scoliosis and a 1 year old with health issues the dirty carpets have yet to be replaced and her breathing has gotten worse. the lease states that a notice would be put on cars before tow, I have 2 cars registered and on my lease and without any notice they towed my vehicle causing me to have to use the money I had for grocery's In order to get it out. I don't pay full rent and its been adjusted to no rent and they charge me almost 2000 each month. I have called and ignored, told someone would be by. nope. I am unemployed, my family is deceased and its wrong. I feel isolated and alone. instead of cutting me a check they credit my account which I never asked them to do. i've called corporate with no return calls. and the manager does not care and is condescending, there are cars here that have expired tags, broke down, not in visitor parking, I was never shown or told I had to park in. It is **** and still nothing. my daughter has surgery next month. HELP! MAKE THIS RIGHTIndependence Realty Trust, Inc

I've been living at Eleven 10@Farmers Market in ******,** for four years and all of a sudden they called the police on me for nicely asking about repairs that I constantly requested for a whole yr and then turned around and apologized and offered me a $100 voucher on my rent to keep quiet after I showed them that I recorded the whole thing.I've been trying to reach corporate to inform them for five months now and ******************* Vice President of IRT all of a sudden just stopped answering my calls and emails after I asked to speak to her superior to report her constant unprofessional behavior.I've never felt with unprofessional behavior like this in my life and I've been nothing less than a model tenant at my buildingIndependence Realty Trust, Inc

1 starI am a previous resident of this company and I have been trying to reach them to settle an outstanding bill that I have with them because it is preventing me from moving into a new apartment. I have called 20+ times to each one of their offices to try and handle this matter and all I am receiving on the line is that they cannot take my call right now to leave my name and number and that they will get back to me. 1 starMorally corrupt and unethical business practices. It shouldnt take you by surprise that you will see totally unrelated charges on your bill once you move into this lovely community. Additionally, do not expect them to come in and fix any damaged/out of service appliances because theyll say that will send someone but theyll NEVER COME! When inquired about it theyll mention that you never spoke to them about it! This happened multiple times when we asked them to fix the fireplace which they never did within the 2 years of our stay. When it comes to inquiring about charges, I NEVER received answers from their accountant.
