On March 22, 2022, I had a Japanese straightening treatment done at this establishment. Prior to making the appointment, I called and asked questions about whether they did them and how often. I have had them done before at a salon that has since closed. These treatments are permanent straightening treatments that leave your hair perfectly straight and shiny. When I left the salon, I was concerned bc it appeared I had breakage and the stylist ***** never flat ironed it again. (I know the multi-step process as I have had it done before.) my hair also appeared dry and frizzy. I followed instructions and did not wash my hair for three days. When I washed my hair with the appropriate and safe shampoo, my hair was a damaged, frizzy mess. I can speculate as to what happened (my hair was less than 80% dry when he straightened it and then just FRIED it) but that is moot. My hair is a disaster. Since then, I have had to have an inch cut off because the ends were totally destroyed. I had to have a moisturizing keratin treatment done to try and make my hair resemble hair. I now also have a consultation appointment for extensions bc my hair is still so damaged and short. I have spent $500 and counting (extensions haven’t happened yet) trying to fix what this person did to my hair. The originally treatment Lin did cost $300 plus I tipped him $100, all cash. I want a refund, and they should not be permitted to do these treatments to anyone else.Business response

Here at Lin's Hair Studio we always want our customers happy and satisfied with their hair when they leave our establishment. Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I would like to clarify that this complaint is not about being satisfied or unsatisfied with their work - it's about them completely damaging and ruining my hair. The treatment was not done correctly, and therefore has left me with permanently damaged hair. I am spending a lot of money to try and make my hair look presentable in the meantime - while I wait for it to eventually grow out.
Additionally, the manager of the salon called me last week on April 7, 2022 after receiving this complaint and said she would put a check in the mail immediately. I haven't received it yet. So while I "accept" their response, we will have to see if they actually follow through with sending me a check.***** ***
