I’ve taken 2 dresses (Pink) Chiffon, and (Lavender) Sparkles. I’ve went to pick up the dresses (my daughter went in while I waited in the car). When we got home, my daughter had taken the dresses out of the plastic and hung them on the door. I had looked at the dresses and there was a tag on the Lavender dress stating that a stain was on the dress and could not be removed. When I looked at the Pink dress, (strapless), the front of the dress was hanging off the top. I had immediately called Zoom Pittsburgh Dry Cleaners and asked to speak with the manager. A lady who identified herself as Ann (The Manager and Owner) stated that “Only One Thread Has Come Unloose). I’ve explained that there was Four. She told me that “She Is Not Responsible For The Dress. She told me to take it to a tailor. I asked her if she would pay for the repair, and she told me No. The Dress Cannot Be Worn. The Price of the Dress Is $149.99. This Dress Was Worn Once for my daughter’s birthday in which we only went to Church and Dinner. The Dress Needs to be Repaired or Paid For by Zoom Pittsburgh.Business response

The chiffon on the dress is tacked in place with several small stitches. The stitches broke free in the cleaning process. Garments brought for dry cleaning need to be able to withstand the dry cleaning process. The stitches were apparently weak. We do not claim responsibility for making sure that the stitches stay in place. Per our posted terms and conditions (listed below). The customer was advised to take to a seamstress for repair (we no longer have one or else we would have offered to repair at a cost of $5 per tack. In this case, approximately $10.
We did not anticipate any issues with the dress. Otherwise, we would have informed the customer at drop off.

We exercise the utmost care in processing articles entrusted
to us and use processes which are best suited to the nature
and conditlon of each individual article. Nevertheless, we
cannot assume responsibility for inherent weaknesses of
or defects in materials that are not readily apparent prior
to processing. This applies particularly, but not limited to
suedes, leathers, silks, satins, double-lace fabrics, vinyls,
polyurethanes. etc. Responsibility also is disclaimed for
trimmings, buckles, beads, buttons, belts and sequins.
All collar stays and cufflinks must be removedIn laundering/dry cleaning we cannot guarantee against
color loss, shrinkage, or against damage to weak and tender
fabrics.
