On April 28th, 2022 I began an apartment lease through ********************************* with Rubix Management for ***************************************** I paid $ ******** for the security deposit. I then signed a second lease in 2023 but before that lease could end in 2024, I had a travel contact come available in which I spoke to ******* about and was informed I could find someone to sublet the apartment. I was able to find someone to sublease, *******. Her and I both signed a sublease agreement that states the security is returned to me at the end of the lease. ******* sublet the apartment from August 2023- April 28 2024. In June, I emailed ******* regarding the security deposit, he emails back saying it'd take 30 days to process and mail out. I emailed a month later in July realizing he didn't have my current mailing address to send it to. He now emails back saying *******, who signed her own new lease starting April 28th, should be reimbursing me with a payment plan for the security deposit. He states that because she is currently behind on rent and still owes some of her security deposit, that I will not receive mine. He then threatens that I technically will owe the remaining portion of her deposit and the rent she's behind on. This doesn't make sense to me as I'm not a part of this current lease of hers. I don't know how me receiving my security deposit depends on if the current tenant has paid theirs. My desired resolution is to receive my deposit back, but now after multiple emails and text messages to *******, he will not respond to me to try and resolve this.
