We agreed to a one time treatment of flea and tick. The next month they did not talk to us just proceeded to treat our yard to another flea and tick application! When we called them to complain why they are providing unauthorized treatments they advised they sent a letter! Not a signed contract or agreement just a letter they created. This means whatever THEY decide to include in their letter of what they will do each month to your lawn, you are never asked for approval or agreement. We also have no idea if they actually treated our lawn, just had a bill shoved in our front door. No call they were coming out or that they had just treated the lawn. This is a company with very questionable and underhanded practices that charges you for treatments you never authorized, sends letters with applications you never agreed to or signed for. So we paid them for a service we never authorized nor can prove they ever came out and actually did the treatment!

As we stated with the customer, when he talked to the sales person Chris on the phone it was explained it was multiple applications and he could stop it at anytime but he needed to let us know.  Chris then transferred the call to Tawni who reiterated that information to him.  We also mailed a letter to his house explaining the multiple step program and we called him the night before each treatment, so we don't believe we did anything wrong here.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

In response to Kapp’s explanation the man Chris spoke to last night agreed to delete amount owed and would send us a follow up email this morning stating we owed nothing which we said we would remove our negative comments upon receipt. At this point we have received nothing from kapps. if you review complaints against this business they all cite the same issues we have. The response provided by kapps to our complaint are lies.

I purchased services from Kapps in 2022. Initially service was good, the first mistake was they randomly sprayed my neighbors yard by accident. Which, personally, I should've seen the writing on the walls there. It seems like a very big error to spray chemicals someone may not want on someone elses lawn. Next, I moved out of this house in August of 2022. Then, I received a call today, on 4/25/23 asking if I'd like to have new service at the address. I say I don't live there anymore, and they tell me the account was recently cancelled. I never agreed to services in 2023, but apparently from the previous complaint this is standard operating procedure for Kapps. Personally, this seems to be poor business practice. You send a piece of paper in the mail indicating service will renew, but if someone cancels you call within a week? Seems like you know what you're pursuing. Since I moved out of this address in August of 22, I never received any mail from Kapps indicating service would renew(So you can say you mailed something out in January of 23, but I never received it), even though I had all mail forwarded to my moms (We were renting an AirBNB). So, I had no indicating service was, provided, going to be provided, and my first communication with Kapps was simply that I owe money. The final statement I have is it's a little more concerning that the people that moved into my house had a Child in September of 22, and Kapps came out and sprayed without notification when they may have turned them away. It seems some more due diligence might be necessary for this business to continue. PS: I was incredibly rude to Brittney on the phone, and I sincerely apologize. I'm currently under a lot of stress due to reasons outside of Kapps. If you can find it to forgive me I would appreciate it, if not, I would understand. I cannot state how much I want to apologize.

Thank you for letting us know of our error.  We have refunded the money and left a voice message on their phone apologizing for the mix-up.

I ordered services from Kapps Green Lawn on or around March 22, 2022. I prepaid for six flea and tick applications to occur over the summer. The first one was done in April. I realized in June that there had been new follow-up treatments. I called Kapps and they came and did the 2nd treatment on June 23. Nothing was done in July at all. I called them today and they can give no explanation for the services not being done (and clearly didn’t care). They now want to send someone to do the third treatment in a week or so. That makes 4 and a half months before they’re halfway through the 6 treatments I paid for. I pointed out that at this rate we’ll be into winter before they’re done. The fleas and tics treatments will be worthless by then. I asked for the treatment schedule to be accelerated and they refused. They also refused to give me any notice of when they’re coming. This is really frustrating and I hope you can help me. Thank you, *** ******
