On 12/23/22 i purchased a 2002 **** ***** ******** ****** from dirt cheap cars lot in pottsville pa. The total cost was approx. 7,000$ i put $1400 down and financed the rest. Once home it had no taillight bulbs, no heat, tons of mechanical issues, the inspection read 12/22 on the front and on the back it was up in 3/22 so a bogus inspection, would not start without being jumped. They lied &said the battery was dead from sitting. Not the case. Day 2, the front drivers side tire exploded on the highway on my way home from work on Christmas Eve. I was stuck on the side of the road until 2am and ended up having to leave the **** overnight. About a week after that the rear drivers side tire came off the vehicle as i was driving. I lost control and coasted off the side of the road to safety. After this, i realized the vin number to the **** i purchased was not the same Vin number on the buyers guide. The vin on the buyers guide was to a different **** on one of there 3 car lots in Selinsgrove. I presented all issues to the business. I expressed I wanted a refund or at least a an exchange of vehicles that I just needed something that ran to get to and from work, the business refused.the woman who I dealt with and processed my paperwork at the lot would not tell me who the owner was. They gave me a number and when I called, the voicemail was a text now number. If you own a business you think you would be advertising and involved in the business, promoting it, not trying to hide the identity of who owns this place. They scammed me, over charged me, put my life in danger by selling me this vehicle.I know a couple of people who dealt with dirt cheap cars and they all had the same issue. They sold me a vehicle with a bad inspection, two different Vin numbers on the buyers guide and the title and told me once I complained that they were going to call the police on me for harassment for simply expressing my concerns. Please help me get to the bottom of this as they will not.Business Response

To whom it may concern,*** ***** came to Dirt Cheap Cars, to purchase a 2002 **** ***** ********. We had conversations with *** ***** about the vehicle not being currently inspected. The employees of Dirt Cheap Cars look over the vehicles to see if anything stands out in disrepair, but we do not have an inspection station and do not have a lift. Due to the lack of vehicles on the market and the availability of local garages, we are very up front about any vehicle being purchased as-is without a vehicle inspection. Inspections in PA are very subjective from one garage to the next. What one garage says a vehicle needs today, may be a completely different list at a different garage tomorrow. Due to this subjectivity, we don’t just call the vehicles without a state inspection as-is, we call it an outright junk or parts vehicle. We also pointed out that this particular vehicle would not pass inspection without new tires, but could need more. She was set on the vehicle and asked if we would reduce the down payment required if she took on the repairs and got the vehicle inspected. We agreed to a $400 discount on the down payment to address the problems.
*** ***** came in and opted to purchase a vehicle without a PA state inspection. We have a Buyer’s guide that states exactly what was discussed in the carsforsale.com lead messages where we shared correspondence about the white **** that *** ***** purchased. It is true that there was a clerical error and the VIN on the Buyer’s Guide is off by 4 digits. It is, however, very apparent that it was meant to be the buyer’s guide for the vehicle purchased, as the other Jeep that we offered for sale was inspected and did not need tires or a radio and the one purchased by *** ***** did.
Our buyer’s guide states that the vehicle is sold as-is with no warranties implied. We stated that the vehicle was being sold as junk for parts or repair. There is nothing deceptive or hidden in that statement. We called the vehicle junk. *** ***** agreed to purchase the vehicle under those terms and was told that if she agreed, to sign the buyer’s guide taking full responsibility for any necessary repairs. *** ***** willingly signed the buyer’s guide accepting those terms.
*** *****, a legally capable adult, chose to drive a vehicle that she knew needed tires. She said that a tire blew out risking her life one week and then she chose to continue to drive an un-inspected vehicle that needed tires. Then, supposedly, one blew out the following week risking her life. Her decision to drive a vehicle that she consciously knew had bad tires, not only was dangerous to herself, but also the public. Immediately after the first tire blew out, We advised her to stop driving the vehicle as it shouldn’t have been driven with bad tires in the first place. We also told her to come in and we would try to help her make repairs for as low-cost as possible. In fact, we offered to make no money on the repair and only charge her our cost.
*** ***** never came in for help with repairs. She did make continuous verbal threats, and then escalated to send me messages threatening me personally. I had to tell her that law enforcement would be contacted if the harassment did not stop. I again offered to help with repairs, but she had buyer’s remorse on the high mileage **** that she chose to purchase, so she resorted to blackmail. She told me that if I didn’t give her a vehicle with fewer miles and a warranty that she would contact the BBB, DMV, an attorney and her congress. She said that she knew people of power and would have my dealership shut down and banned from auto auctions. *** ***** never wanted our help with fixing this ****, she wanted to blackmail us into a newer vehicle for the same price and down payment, which we never had. Vehicles that are newer with fewer miles come with a higher down payment and price tag. *** ***** did not have a higher down payment. I think the whole purchase was a plan for extortion which is now being executed through this complaint.
Thank You,

I am rejecting this response because: the business did not give me an alternative or try to resolve this issue in any way. They broke the law. The inspection sticker read 12/22 on the front, and 3/22 on the back. They used a different vin on the buyers guide than the title. I mean really this place scammed me. I am going to have to pay near 1,000 dollars for the car to pass inspection and i put over 1,000 dollars into it. I had to jump it to start it for the first two weeks until i got it in the garage and they lied and told me they had to jump it as i was leaving the lot due to it sitting for as long as it did. I still owe on this vehicle & this place scams people constantly and gets away with it. They broke the law and burnt me. I want my voice to be heard. This is not fair.

If you believe that the **** is not in repossession status, I'd advise you to call *** ******** Finance. I also have photos of the vehicle before it was sold with a March inspection expiration as well as our conversations saying that the **** was NOT inspected. If anyone altered the sticker, it was you! I am fine with this conversation. Please return the **** that you are not making payments on.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I am rejecting the response of the business because they illegally sold me a ****. They claim i altered the illegal inspection sticker they had rigged on the ****. The sticker read 12/22 from the outside looking in. However, the inside of the sticker read it was up in 3/22. Now why would I alter the inside of the inspection(3/22) for 9 months prior to what what outside of the sticker read(12/22)? I think anybody with any type of intellectual intelligence would be able to see right through this business' false allegations to cover up the sloppy job they attempted to get this sold by scamming me ( a 23 year old girl ) into buying this. Im not mechanically inclined but i sure will make sure i take somebody who is, if i ever make an auto purchase again. Not to mention the vin number on the buyers guide which covers the warranty for the vehicle was different than the vin number on the title. Just so happens when i looked into the faulty vin on the buyers guide, it happened to belong to a jeep on a different lot also owned and ran at a different location under this business' same name. Shady. Anyways, the business sold me a car illegally. And i want a full refund for the **** i put down plus all of the payments ive made to the finance company, who, by the way, says they dont even know how this business got a contract with them. All they hear about this place is negative and they dont know how they have not been shut down yet. They also advised me to file a complaint at the *** about this business. So i want a refund for exchange of the **** illegally sold to me by you. Dirt Cheap Cars. The name says it allRegards,
