1 starI am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the service I received from this company. I initially called this company and paid a deposit of $2169 for moving services. However, I was later informed that I would need to pay an additional $4000 or risk losing my deposit. To make matters worse, I discovered that this company did nothing more than link me to a third-party moving company called Out of State Moving Services. When the driver from Out of State Moving Services arrived, he demanded $3326.50 before he even began loading my belongings. Once the loading was complete, he demanded another $984.75, followed by an additional $4310.50 upon delivery. In addition to the exorbitant fees, I was also inconvenienced by this company's insistence on payment via money order, as well as the paltry 6 cent per pound compensation for damages incurred during the move. Despite my diligent efforts to provide all necessary documentation and photographic evidence, I was only offered a meager $45 in compensation for over $1000 worth of damages. Furthermore, Out of State Moving Services recent attempts to offer me compensation via a cash app are unacceptable, as I refuse to use such methods with unscrupulous companies. I have repeatedly attempted to contact your company via phone and text, but my calls and messages have been ignored. In addition to the aforementioned issues, I also had to store my belongings for two months, which resulted in an additional cost of $1550. When I tally up all the expenses, including the initial deposit, additional fees, and storage fees, the grand total comes to an astounding $16,340.75. This amount is simply unacceptable and reflects a lack of transparency and fair business practices. I hope that New Horizon Moving & Storage & Out of State Moving Services will take immediate action to address these concerns and offer a satisfactory resolution to rectify this situation.Review fromDonna L

1 starNEW HORIZON MOVERS THE WORST YET! I was given a quote of 2210.00 I had to add a few more item that brought it up to 3776.00. They outsource to another company that charged be an additional 6000.00!!! 3000.00 then and additional 3000.00 upon delivery! Several things I packed was not packed to their liking so I was changed for all kinds of boxes and packing supplies. They used a roll of tape on 1 item! IT GETS BETTER. The company that packed me was not the company that delivered to me so they moved all of our belongings from 1 truck to another that was shared with another move. I was promised verbally that my belongings would arrive in several days, when I called they said it could take 21 days! I should have read the contract they said. I explained everything is done online and there is a person on the phone waiting for your signature. When my belongings arrived I WAS MORTIFIED! They had my flat screen TV 65 inch UNDER the 18 wheeler in the cargo container as well as my furniture and boxes. The man had to push it out with his feet to get it out because it was packed so tight, The top of the TV was bent. A lot of my stuff was damaged, my electric bikes were upside down with deep scratches on it! When they unpacked they used a blade to cut the plastic and sliced the back of my leather chair. The final moving company was ERNEST MOVING- TERRIBLE COMPANY! I called to submit a claim but I decided not to pursue it because using 3 different companies I knew that I would not get anywhere and I just needed it to be over. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE BY HIRING THESE PEOPLE. Go with your larger well known moving companies.Review fromDerek D.

1 starIf I could give zero stars I would! What a scam, beware of brokers under stating cubic feet estimate, collecting a high, non refundable deposit, then the actual movers show up and increase your costs by 50+%. Also, hiding behind DOT measurements as an excuse. From the broker to customer service, they were not helpful at all. Talk about bait and switch!! What they did is criminal.Review fromJohanna W

1 starI won’t even move past the initial quote with this company because the woman I spoke with to just get information was so unprofessional and rude to me. I was up front with her from the beginning that I did not yet have details planned but was in early stages, just trying to get an idea of the cost. She made me answer so many questions and listen to so much info before even getting a quote, which was 3 times any quote I’ve heard anywhere else! Then she kept trying to push me into committing to pay a deposit to secure that quote. When I told her again that I wasn’t ready to commit to anything yet and was only trying to get information right now, she acted like she took it personally and started to get defensive and was very rude to me, saying I shouldn’t be contacting companies and wasting their time when I am not ready to put money down. I was clear the whole time, and I’m sorry but that’s very manipulative to expect someone to throw down a large amount of money on something that quickly without having time to think or shop around. With everything I said, she had to get the last word and with attitude, so I ended up just cutting her off with a “thank you!” and hung up. Any company who is going to be that pushy, manipulative, and flat out rude when just giving a quote, and then quoting 3x what it should cost is not a company with your best interests in mind.Review fromWendy G

1 starThis has been the worst experience with a moving company. We have called multiple days in a row with no update, the lady that answers the phone is rude and never submits a request to manage it for a callback. It’s been a month since they picked up our furniture and still no ETA of a delivery date. Working with this company you get a complete runaround, I would never recommend this company to anyone who is planning on a move. Worst experience ever.Review fromJillian S

1 starAbsolutely horrible experience. I paid for my family to have a stress free move when they wanted to originally move themselves. First quote was great ( $2,346) so we decided to go with them. After the inventory check, our quote doubled so we took off all big furniture. They recalculated it and it barely went down and was $4,316. So the first rep must have intentionally under quoted us to get our business until it was too late to cancel. Then the day of the pickup- the driver said NOT EVEN HALF of our inventory will fit within the 512 cf quoted so they must have not accurately calculated the cf needed for the inventory we had. A few sq ft off is understandable, but this didnt even account for HALF of it. Now to get more of it on, we had to pay overages totaling $5,378 for the move and that still wasnt our full inventory list on the quote. As the driver starts moving items, he did not have a partner. Said it was going to be extra money for him to go in the basement & bring up the boxes which was not communicated to us prior. My 60 some year old dad had to hall up boxes & help him put the bigger items on the truck. His motorcycle also was required to be crated so we paid $450 for a crate, and the driver had never heard of this before & had no crate. Then since the driver thought we only had 512 cf, we still had to throw out alot of belongings even though we measured each item on the list to the previous rep. And- customer service made this our issue that our inventory list wouldn't fit on the truck. 29 years in a house and had to leave a lot behind. This experience was nothing but stressful and we feel like we paid $5,378 (when we were quoted $2,346 originally) for a scam and a service that we did not receive. With all we had to do we should have just moved ourselves since we couldn't bring half our stuff, we had to help move and it was stressful anyways. This was supposed to be a hands off move. I am so disappointed in this "service."
