I brought my 2012 ***** * to Rossis for an emission/inspection and an oil change in the middle of May, 2022. My car sat in their lot for two weeks because they couldn’t figure out how to fix an emissions issue on my car. I told them I couldn’t wait any longer, I needed my car to get to work. So I went and picked my car up on May 26th. I asked the employee how much I owed him and he said nothing and handed me my keys. I got in my car and noticed there was a brand new “next service date” sticker on my windshield. I assumed they changed my oil when I first brought my car in, and over the course of the two weeks it sat there, they forgot they changed my oil. So there was no documentation my car was ever there at their shop. However, I’ve used their shop exclusively for almost 10 years for anything I needed done with that car. So I drove my car home (1.8 miles away) and parked it in front of my house. I got up for work the next morning, (May 27, 2022) and started my commute. The oil notification light came on while I was driving on an interstate highway and then my car engine proceeded to seize up and shut down. I had my car towed to a different mechanic ( .4 miles from my house). This mechanic said there was no oil filter on my engine and the engine was totaled. I called Bob from Rossi’s Tires and service and he denied any involvement in the situation because their was never any transaction or documentation from the most recent visit to his shop. However, I have a debit card transaction from three months prior where I brought the same car I’m for an oil change. He finally called his insurance company ( 2 weeks after my car died) and the representative said he’s claiming no fault or responsibility and there’s little that can be done. I have three small children and a wife at home with no transportation the entire day I’m at work.Business response

*** ******'s car was left for some work. I myself went to the car, opened the door and the smell was so bad, not to mention the trash and filth. I refused to get in and told my workers no to touch this car. This car was not moved. Then after another shop serviced his car, I am told of my fault with a loose oil filter. If an oil filter is not secure, it would blow off immediately. When his car was parked here, there was no oil leak where parked. Not knowing what service as performed at this other shop and notice of oil filter problem, forwarded this to my insurance for evaluation.
We were not the last to perform a safety inspection and look under his motor.
