The receptionist at the dental office refuses to give me my dental records from July 11th 2022. The dental facility is called Choon S. Chung Family Dentistry. The receptionist there said she will only give me a copy of my x-ray but not my records, even though my insurance fully paid for the appointment and the dental work. When I asked her why she won't give me my records she told me that I don't need them and that it's unnecessary for me to have a copy of them. I asked her for a copy of my records several times and she keeps refusing to give me them, this has been ongoing for months. I offered to pick up a copy of my records in person, I also gave her my new dentist's fax number for her to fax my records there and she still refuses. I don't want the x-ray, I want the actual records, but she said she'll only give me my x-ray and is withholding my records from me. She won't let me speak to the dentist about this. I do not know her name, as she refused to tell me her name, but she is the only receptionist who works in that office. I'm not sure if the reason for wanting my own records is important, but if it's relevant my reason is this- I had a bad reaction to the numbing medicine that day and I want my records so I can see see exactly what I was given that day so I can avoid those same numbing meds in the future. The brand of numbing meds the receptionist told me I was given was completely different than what the doctor said he gave me, so I need my records to see for myself what kind of medicine I was given, and I also want to see exactly what work was done and what was wrong with my tooth according to the records. All I really want to come of this is my records, I really want all my records from July 11th 2022.

    Customer response

My name is *************************. I filed a complaint about my dentist's receptionist refusing to give me my dental records. Today the dentist answered the phone himself and emailed me what I asked for. I'm not sure how to officially drop my complaint.
