The ********************************* appears to be trying to cheat me out of my refund for poor coverage and services. I purchased a ************* were I was provided the company brochure. I agreed on a plain that cost over $2800 within a week my AC went out and it was like pulling teeth to get it fixed. I was told the work cost $1000. I had two additional major things go wrong with my vehicle and Penn would not cover anything leaving me to foot the bill. Due to **** not covering anything I decided to pay the vehicle off and sell the car. I Called **** to have this crappy warranty cancel and to provide me with a refund. **** advised no money was left to be refunded. They said the one job they did pay for plus a 10% cancellation fee warrants no refund to be paid. So, my question is how do you take $2800 minus $1000 minus 10% gets you to $2800 and no refund. I only had Penn Warranty for three months before I decided to cancel. This company is indeed scamming me for the remainder of my refund. Now theyre trying to put me off on the seller which is also shady. I want them to do right by me and refund the rest of my money. But reading the reviews it does not seem this company cares who they s**** over.

Dear ***************,Thank you bringing this matter to our attention. I have reviewed your file. Your service contract is currently cancelled and there is an 80% refund due to you, less a 10% cancellation fee and less the claims paid. The refund would come from your selling dealer. We have contacted your dealer and they are expecting your call. Please contact **** at Brightway Auto Sales.Thank you,The Penn Warranty Corporation

I would give zero stars if possible, I was sold this warranty by a dealership with a brochure that had all the components listed that were covered. I have a claim now that has several of those air conditioning components needed that are listed, the compressor went out and it sent shrapnel thru the entire system. They only cover the compressor because it is a factory defect. They only cover $85 labor and when asked who excepts that low labor rate they replied with maybe someone up north. They were presented to me as everything on this brochure is covered and when I spoke with the penn warranty agent he said they dont cover everything on the brochure. Just the contract that I wasnt given

Dear ****************,Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. We understand your frustration and appreciate the opportunity to address your complaint. We authorized your A/C compressor claim on July 3rd for the amount of $253.99 on the same day it was called in. However, the evaporator and condenser were not covered because the failure was due to contamination. As per the terms of your contract, a breakdown is defined as the failure of any original or like replacement part covered by the service contract to perform its intended function(s) in normal service, provided it has received all scheduled maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer in the owner's manual. The contract specifically excludes coverage for any breakdown caused by contamination, as stated in section III.B.14.We would like to highlight that we have a history of paid claims on your vehicle for the differential, transmission, and radiator, with a total payout amounting to $4,137.92, including the recent A/C compressor authorization. This demonstrates our commitment to meeting the terms and conditions of the contract. We understand that you were sold the warranty with a brochure listing all the components covered. However, it's important to note that the coverage is based on the specific terms outlined in the contract you agreed to. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us. We are here to help.

The Penn warranty group are a scam. They charged me 3000 for a warranty, my engine started knocking. When I took it to the repair shop although we knew it was my engine Penn still charged me 1300 for an engine break down. Even though the company advised a new engine from their diagnostics, **** just wanted to replace a part that didnt guarantee full repair to my engine. Overall I still ended up spending 2000 beyond the 1700 Penn agreed to pay. This warranty is a complete rip off and the fine print needs to be reviewed more in depth when offering to a customer.

Penn Warranty you are a horrible ripoff company. I've called numerous times and ask what's covered, I turn around and take my car to the shop now surprisingly nothing is covered. now I am not able to be reimbursed when canceling my contract which was for nothing. You not only didn't try to hear the mechanic about the repairs, you had the nerve to be rude when I called the next day to see what was going on!! you all truly suck and I want the world to know not to waste money with your company !!!

Penn warranty gets paid monthly for coverage for my vehicle and refused my claim with regards to my vehicle. Unhappy with the business that’s being conducted, have file a dispute form and it’s been almost two weeks with no response.

Mr. L****, we have received your complaint and after review of your file, the following is our findings: A claim was initiated by Roselle Exxon on August 2, 2022 for the Valve Cover and Water Pump for your vehicle. After diagnostics were completed, an inspection was ordered to verify the failures to your vehicle. Upon receipt of the inspection report, the inspector noted that the cause of failure was an "unknown failure of the plastic outlet from the auxiliary water pump." Further tear down would be needed to verify the exact cause. Additionally, there was an unknown cause of the oil leak at the right rear of the engine. After reviewing this information with the repair facility, they stated the primary water pump was leaking between the housing and the metal which indicated a gasket leak which is not listed for coverage. The oil leak was noted to be pre-existing prior to the sale of the contract and is also not covered. As of today's date, we have not received any dispute paperwork for your account. If you have not done so already, please contact Customer Service at ***** ******** to request the dispute paperwork. This paperwork needs to be completed and emailed/faxed back to our Dispute Department. Thank you.

My policy covered drive shafts. Bottom line is Penn will pay $43 toward my $650 drive shaft replacement. I would have been O.K. with $100 more. No budge. Mike M

Mr. M***, thank you for your review. I had the opportunity to review your claim and found that your claim was authorized for $43.00 broken down as follows: 0.8 hours of labor at the contract labor rate of $85/hour for a total of $68.00, used driveshaft located from Eco Auto Recycler for $75.00, less your $100.00 deductible. If you are not satisfied with the amount authorized, please contact our Customer Service Department at ***** ******** and initiate a dispute to request additional monies towards your claim. Once your dispute is initiated, a review of your claim and authorized amount will be reviewed and a response will be issued to you. Thank you!

My motor went out. This place only wanted to cover $3000 parts & labor. Anything over would be an out of pocket expense. Before they would pay they wanted the motor broke down so an inspector can check it, but they don’t pay for it. It’s an out of pocket expense ($5-10k at least at Sewell BMW). I took my vehicle to Sewell BMW because with this kind of repair you want people who know what they are doing, and I wanted whatever work that got done to be warranties. Sewell BMW ran the diagnostic and provided all the paperwork to show that the motor went out. Not good enough. Breaking the motor down to the point of failure is mandatory I was told. Ok, back to the claim. Where can you buy a motor (new or used) and get it installed by an ASC certified mechanic, for $3000? Let alone a foreign vehicle motor? They make you go to an ASC certified mechanic (fair) but then they only want to pay $85 an hour when the going rates are anywhere from $125 to $212 an hour. Anything over $85 an hour is? Yep you guest it, another out of pocket expense to the customer. With the cost of breaking the motor down $5k-10k, then paying anything over $85 an hour for labor, and then paying anything over the final cost they are willing to pay of $3k. They would pay $3k and I would end up paying $5k-$10k (motor breakdown) and a minimum of $40 an hour for labor (that’s the difference between the $85 they will pay and the minimum going rate for an ASC certified mechanic). Then I would still have to pay whatever the difference is between the $3k they will pay once the job is complete and the final cost for repair. It all seems pointless. If you’re going to pay all of this out of pocket stuff, why do you need a warranty? Oh I forgot, so you can get the $3k they will pay! But they make it so difficult for you that it seems like they wouldn’t pay even if you jumped through all of there hoops. Then when you submit a review they always say they can’t find your service contract. Smh!

Thank you for your review. We apologize you've had a frustrating experience. After review of your file, I see a claim that was initiated by Sewell BMW however that claim was closed on June 10th since the vehicle has left the repair facility. The last activity on the claim shows that you were unsure how to proceed with your claim and the tear down. Please note that a stipulation of your contract does state that tear down is your responsibility. This can be found in section II.B.5 where it states, "Authorize Tear down– Authorize the Repair Facility to perform necessary diagnostic work and provide “tear down” authorization so that The Repair Facility can provide accurate diagnosis and estimate of repairs. You are responsible for any and all tear down and diagnostic charges made by The Repair Facility that are not specifically stated as being covered under The Component Coverage Section." Additionally, the service contract type you selected has a limit of liability per occurrence meaning there is a limited dollar amount that can be assigned per repair. This information can be found in section III.4. where it states, "4. Limits of Liability – Our limit of liability is the Cost to repair or replace any covered Breakdown. Our maximum liability per repair shall not exceed the following amounts for each style of coverage:....Gold – three thousand dollars ($3,000)..." In order to proceed with adjudication of your claim, the vehicle must return to the repair facility and they should contact us to reopen your claim once the vehicle is there. If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to contact us at ***** ********. Thank you.

I think the company might be bait and switch. i am being denied a/c repairs because I did not get permission to get it fixed. The first time I used the warranty, I had to find the transfer case, pay for it and have it shipped to the repair shop. After the repairs, I was sent a portion of the money I paid and it took two to three weeks to get my vehicle repaired due solely to the warranty company. This is the second time I relied on this company. I would like a refund for the repairs or the remaining money left on my contract returned.

    The Penn Warranty Corporation Response

    05/04/2022

Jessie, your original request for reimbursement for your A/C repairs was denied because you did not initiate a claim prior to having the work completed. As part of your contract agreement, your responsibility is to make sure you get prior approval prior to any repair being made. After your initial request was denied, you filed a dispute because you did not agree with this decision. After review of your dispute, an amount has been offered to you to assist you with your repairs. Please contact Customer Service at (**** ******** to obtain a copy of your Dispute Response.

Purchased extended warranty for a used vehicle and find out they do not cover crap. Go elsewhere!! I would never ever purchase a warranty from them nor purchase another vehicle from a dealers who offers it. Stay clear!!! Wish I came here first prior to purchasing vehicle warranty. Live and learn!
