Asplundh was hired by the utility company(assuming ****), to remove any limbs or trees, endangering the power lines with in 15 feet. We were given notice weeks and weeks ago but no heads up of when actually. I spoke with an employee face to face, 2 weeks ago who had flagged a single tree in our yard. We discussed, it, that day and minimal branches were trimmed. Mind you that is a giant oak standing right next to the power pole itself! As I write this, it is more of a danger to the lines than any other tree( post trimming)! They've been up and down our tiny street 3 times in the last several weeks and in an exceptionally disorganized manner. Today I was awoken at 8 am to more tree trimming with another employee standing in front of my bedroom window, which is mind you, 30 ft from the tree they were mutilating. They cut every limb from a healthy hickory tree that was NOT flagged for trimming. They did the same to my Poplar. If every limb must be cut from a tree, then take the whole tree right? They will die now and become more of a hazard than before, and become our problem. If they needed to remove any hazards within 15 feet of the line, they should've taken all three trees down completely! Bare trunks with no limbs to support leaves, equal soon to be dead trees!I am irate. I am tired of listening to tree trimming and grinding from every angle in no organized fashion with no end in sight. They said "we're just doing what we're told and I dont know why they didn't trim these." Then they said they didn't trim them because of my neighbors dog the last time which is BS because they had no problem doing the other one 2 weeks ago and dog was in. By their standards based on the look of my other two trees, the one they did two weeks ago should be decimated. I told them to take the entire trees now that they've murdered them. They just ground the "brush" and told me to have a nice day. This is absurd. I'm sure my electric bill will go up with no shade now...how nice.

About 3 months ago Asplundh started cutting trees for maintenance on ****** power service lines in our area. 8 weeks ago or so they cut the ones going into my yard which I have no problem with. I understand they have a job to do and lines need to be maintained. However they drove the cutters thru my yard, and out of my driveway leaving tracks in my yard that will not be pleasant to mow over to mow over. On top of that all limbs cut are still laying in my yard as the day they left close to 8 weeks ago. I have flagged down their trucks in the area on two occasions, and was told they had two clean up trucks and one broke down etc. but no one has made an attempt to clean up anything. The sad part is my house is surrounded by woods.  Where they trimmed was 30 feet from the wood line. The limbs easily could have just been walked into the wood line and left out of the yard. I will eventually have to clean up myself because grass needs to be mowed. I work a lot and time means a lot to me so wasting time cleaning up something a company was paid to do doesn't sit well with me out of principle. I would expect better from a professional company.

My 95 year old mothers problem occurred in April when ***** hired and sent a tree trimming crew from Asplundh Tree Service to the back of her house to prepare for the removal and installation of a pole into her back yard for the transmission of electrical service. During the tree trimming process, workers from Asplundh applied undue pressure to the support wire that allows for the transmission of electricity to her house. This resulted in that wire pulling bricks out from her house. I filed a claim on her behalf with ***** for the cost to repair her home. An electrician installed a new Service Drop Brackett and a mason removed and reinstalled the bricks that were pulled from her home. Total cost was $550. ***** responded to her and stated the claim would be handled by Asplundh Tree Service. I have tried to reach them for 3 months and they refuse to call me back. I have contacted ***** and they have requested that they contact me back. No luck. ***** says it is not their problem.

On July 19th you had Asplundh come onto my property and tree my tree. However, that is not what they did. They cut off the entire back half of my tree. I called *** three times since this with no return call. There were only three small limbs that needed trimmed back aprox a foot. There was no need and no permission given to cut the entire back side of my tree off. This has cost me a liability because this tree is over my swimming pool and the tree is now lop sided. I do not want them to come onto my property again and touch anything of mine. Including my tree. I want reimbursement for my insurance on my pool. If that tree falls on it I will have to have to have someone clean it up and buy a new pool and new tree. I want reimbursement for a pool cleaner I have to buy now, Because of all the bugs and garbage falling into my pool now that all the weight and limbs are on one side. The longest I can now only keep it clean now is only 1 day and that is cleaning it every day now. They took something that was enjoyable and relaxing and made it the complete opposite. I use that pool for therapeutic purposes for my arm and now cleaning it every day manually has caused issues with my arm. I was nice to the workers, and this is what I get in return - Complete disrespect and taken advantage of as a woman. I am extremely upset and horrified by what they did to my tree. He even had the nerve to say to me that it is now more structurally stable, which is lying to my face and treating me like I am stupid. While half laughing, he said well just think now you wont have to have anyone come out here next year to trim it. When I asked him to stop cutting it, he then had the guy in the tree cut three more limbs that are on the side front of the tree, which there was no reason for. Was that just spite? I was even nice when I asked him to stop. I dint go out yelling, cursing, or screaming. I was taken advantage of as a woman because he would not have said the same things or did this to a

Approximately 2-3 weeks ago, Asplundh Tree Company removed limbs from trees on our property to clear the electric lines owned by **** Power. They cleaned up part of the cut off limbs, but left the rest. We have contacted ***** Power, but they said it is not their problem because they contracted the work out to Asplundh. We contacted Asplundh several times and left messages, but we have received no response from them to date. We talked to the workers in the area, and they have assured us they will be back, but have not given us a time line to expect this done. We have only been told that it will require different equipment. Neither my husband or myself is physically or financially capable of cleaning this mess up. I am sending pictures of the mess on our property.

Aspludh was contracted by my utility company. They needed to trim my NEIGHBORS trees as they were in the power lines. Instead of accessing the trees from the neighbors property, they used my yard. Trampled my garden , and killed or severely damaged hundreds of plants. They knocked over patio chairs during thier reckless damage spree. They also killed several plants I had on the driveway waiting to be planted. All of the plants on my driveway were tipped over. Several plants on the driveway were dragged, knocked out of the pots and stepped on and killed. I wanted to be compensated for the plants that were killed or damaged so severely they probably won't survive. I'm disabled, which they knew because of the ramp in the yard, so labor costs should be included. The plants were flowering, so it's not like they didn't see them there. They have repeatedly damaged plants/shrubs in my yard over the years even though ALL of the trees they trim are in other yards. Both the Aspludh supervisor and the Supervisor at the utility company admitted they caused the damage, The Aspludh supervisor said he would replace the plants, but now, he won't contact me after I submitted a list of the damages.

In February 2021, Asplundh took down a healthy tree on my property, which it shouldn't have, while cutting back branches for the power company *****. As a result, Asplundh agreed to the installation of three Norway spruce on my property to replace the tree that was taken down. Due to a shortage of Norway Spruce in 2021, and given the time constraint for planting trees (April to May), it was agreed with the representative from Asplundh, **** that we would coordinate delivery and install this planting season (2022). I've reached out to the individual, and the company, several times and they refuse to reply back to me to coordinate what was agreed to last year. I have the voicemails from ***** and Asplundh stating it was approved, so Id like to get this resolved without getting legal involved. Thank you.

Aspluhnd tree service cut branches near power lines for *** and left them on the ground on our property. They did not shred them even though they had a shredder on site. This constitutes a fire hazard. They must think the less they have to empty their chip truck ,the less gas they use searching for a place to dump them. I want the company to come back and remove all the branches ,and dump them off of our property immediately I asked them before they left to clean it up an I have been waiting months for them to come back an shred it up Im disabled an not able to clean up this mess they left they left brush in my creek for it to flow down an stop up the drain pipes that will eventually wash my driveway out that I dont have the money to fix when it does do It or the money to pay someone to clean up this mess

The tree service trimmed trees on our property on behalf of ******************. They cut back our trees more than 20 ft from the power lines, destroying our trees. This was excessive and destroyed part of my property. They're employees obviously were untrained and unskilled. I now have to pay another tree service to try to fix our trees. This contractor should have to pay the repairs for their damage.

      Dear Better Business Bureau,

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC (Asplundh) is contracted directly through utility companies to conduct trimming operations on the right-of-way. Asplundh is not contracted through property owners. Trimming work is completed per contractual obligations. The distance of clearance from the lines is decided by the contract to ensure continuous power supply.

Please note that Asplundh is not self-insured. The complainant may report a claim by calling the insurance carrier at ************.
