I was attempting to find a local passport renewal resource near me and when I entered the term "passport renewal" in my browser this company popped up and offered to process the renewal for me.They have not provided any documentation or forms, but they have charged my credit card $236.99 to expedite renewal. When I became suspicious, I located their rating with BBB and it was noted F rating and that the *** is a fraud I subsequently went to local US post office and they have processed the renewal along with tracking information as to when to expect my documentsCustomer Answer

I needed to renew my passport. I went online to fill out the application. I filled everything out and paid the fee of $154.99. I believed I was submitting my passport application to the government office for review. I then started receiving emails from this company saying that my application had been reviewed and for me to look it over to make sure it is correct. Then to print it out and mail it in with my old passport. I knew it was required to send in my old passport, so thought this was still legitimate. Then it said to send a check or money order for the passport fee and to send in a passport photo even though I had already submitted one to them. Believing I had just paid the fee for my passport, I asked if I needed to send a copy of my receipt and if they will be using the photo I uploaded with my application. That's when they informed me that they only review my application and that I did not submit it to the government agency that would approve or deny it. They totally misrepresented their services. I did not need assistance to fill in my basic information on the application or to mail any of it in. I believed I was submitting my application to the correct government agency for review. Now they will not refund me in full because they say I had them review my information. They did not do anything, but take my money! They will only give me 70%. I believe this company to be very misleading and misrepresenting a government agency. I would like my full refund and to prevent this from happening to more people.Initial Complaint

I purchased $200 a service to get my Global Entry Pass through this company. I waited months and no contact, then I call them several times, they said they apologize for the delay but never had a resolution, finally I requested a full refund and they would not give me a full refund. I still have never got my Global Entry after month and never refunded all my money. So I have filed by myself and paid $100 again directly to Homeland Security to get this done and it is going fast and fine. This company is a fraud and have deceptive trade practices. I want a full refund and written apology for this instance.Business Response

This company is a scam. First item from ****** search " renew passport online". URL = ************************>passport>renewal Takes you RIGHT to form to fill out. No other information provided at this time. Asks for personal information that is not really required for passport renewal. Gives no indication it is not a government site. I did this on August *******. When told to hit the submit button after just filling out form with no other requests from app, it would not submit. i was fortunate it seems because other people have continued and been billed for service fees from GovApply Support. I do not know if my data has been removed from their site because when i tried again the next day the data was all there. I deleted all my cookies and data from browser and then when I clicked on URL the form was blank. However, i am not sure about my data. Froze credit info and asked for fraud alerts. I would like to make sure this organization does not have my data or did not share it. I agree with another reviewer the rating should be 0 stars.Customer Answer

I received today from Chase an alert that my personal information was compromised on a data breach. ( see email attachment images) They specified it was my social security number. This happened the day after my access to the GovAssist LLC that I am complaining about. The date of the data breach was August 27. So it confirms my fear about the data I entered at the GovApplySupport.com site the day before.Customer Answer

On 7/24/24, I paid $119 to GovAssist for a passport renewal 5-8 week standard DS82. I have only received back emails and phone calls asking for more submission of information and additional payment. I have learned this website is a scam and would like to warn others as well as be refunded. My payment went through my **************** credit card and I will be reaching out to them as well.Initial Complaint

I googled search renewing a passport and govassist came up looking like a government service to renew my passport. They took all of our personal information and our credit card information which is very scary. They sent me forms that I could have completed myself easily in the legit website and said that I need to send them in myself and pay again to have them processed. I believe this to be a total scam and since I have received scam calls all through the day.Initial Complaint

I was renewing passport on line. when I searched passport renewal a site came up that looked official. I filled out ALL of my information and paid credit card $85.83 to complete renewal application. I realized my mistake after transaction was completed. I am worried my information is now in companies database and unsure what they will do with this. I believe this site is set up to mimic the official site to apply for passport and it is the first thing that comes up when googling passport renewal.this site is misleading and will take peoples information. I did not get a confirmation email sent to me so I don't have anything from them other than a pending charge on my credit card this is the site.***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************Initial Complaint

I searched for passport application, and the GovApplySupport was the first link that popped up. They charged approximately $85.83 for what I believed to be an application fee for a passport. I had never applied for a passport before, and this website was very misleading and appeared to be a legitimate application process. I was unaware that it was not an application when I received a text from my bank for suspicious fraudulent activity on my card. Their disclaimer that they are not affiliated with a government agency is not obvious, and their website is very misleading. This is also in conjunction with their placement on ****** as the very first link to be clicked on. I want a refund on my purchase as well as assurance that my information is not being sold or used by this company. They also do not have a phone number to be contacted on their website when I attempted to resolve the issue with them first.Initial Complaint
