Gave *************************** of Primetime Construction a $3750 deposit to replace our front steps on May 12, 2022. ****** estimated 4 to 6 weeks to start. Six months later he did not have a permit and no work had begun. On August 3 he texted that the material he ordered arrived and would start in 2 weeks. On August 30 he texted that the city was behind issuing permits. On September 30 I called city hall to find he applied August 23, and the city asked for a building plan twice by email. ****** responded to the first email asking for a preconstruction site inspection, the city replied no, send the plan. So far he had not. I texted that information and ****** responded that was unaware and would get right on it. Many texts later, on November 14 I called city hall, still no plans submitted. We've been trying to get our deposit back since November 14. A few days later a neighbor helped us find another contractor who repaired the existing steps for a similar cost. ****** keeps saying he will leave the material he bought that we don't need or want and refund the deposit less the material and the plans which we don't know exists and don't need. As of December 6 we can't even get a partial refund from him.

I paid ****** a total of $30K and the project is completed, but unacceptable. Problems at end that he did not complete. It took him six months and having problems with the paint job!!!!!! When it came to painting, ****** prepped the house with two other people. The actual painter did not prep the house. The painter came and did two coats by brush. About a week later, I noticed several areas where the paint was bubbling. I let *****************, and the painter came back and fixed the areas I mentioned. While here was there, he casually told me that he was not getting paid a lot for this particular job, especially since he did not do the prep work. I could understand why a professional painter would want to do his job start to finish. About a week later, the same problem with the bubbling was occurring. Also, I noticed in between the cedar shakes, the old white color was coming through...like the paint was not getting in between the shakes. I let ****** know and he and his worker came back to fix it not the painter. I assumed from my previous conversation with the painter that he was not coming back a third time. The bubbling and white coming through in between is still happening. I already paid him for this job, and now less than a few months after it being painted, I am going to have to pay a NEW PAINTER to redo the job?? Paying twice for this??

I hired this company last winter to reshingle my roof in the early spring. We agreed that the job would start in the spring and that he had to give me a 48-hour heads-up due to my lease with my tenants. He showed up unexpectedly 4 days later on a Saturday morning at 7 am unannounced. He subcontracted the job out without my knowledge. Fast forward to this summer and now I have leaks and water damage inside my home. The work was atrocious and sophomoric at best. He doesn't even carry the correct liability insurance to do roofs so you're on your own if you have to file a claim. He'll yes you to death but in the end, all you're left with is a leaky roof with absolutely no recourse. I am out $16,000 and all I have to show for it is a pile of regret.

    Business Response

In response to ********************* who has been acting as his wife whom *** never met,

The job was never discussed to being done in the spring it was to be done when he got in on the schedule just like any other customer. He was insisting that it got done so I hired another crew to do the work because he wanted it done which I am legally allowed to do as a general contractor. As I stated once before **********************, I have offered to stop by and assess the leak and he called and informed me it was a faulty skylight and that he would take care of it not to worry about it. As I also have the messages to go along with this situation. The next time I heard from ********************** again was him insulting me through the BBB and even then I offered to go and assess the leak but he had stated to me that he had other skilled contractors and himself up on the roof before he gave me the opportunity to assess it, that makes my warrantee null and void because he/they could have done something to cause the problem.

As for him not knowing. That is a false statement. I forewarned ********************** that a crew would be coming to do the roof. He himself had the ** units removed from the roof so the roof could be done. There was no problem with the roof that I have known of.  But because he had other contractors and himself on his roof as I also have proof of him stating and  without allowing me to rectify tor assess the problem myself, the warrantee is null and void because I dont know what anyone else did while they were up there and that could have been the issue with why there is a problem now. And because I was robber of the opportunity to fixit and make it right after ********************** slandered my name and my company.and I myself was on the job everyday. I cleaned his yard everyday. He knew every step of what was going on. I have never disrespected him, his property, or his family so Im not entirely sure why this all turned bad. If I had been allowed to ***** or fix said problem all of this would have been avoided.

This man is a criminal, a habitual liar, and con man. Nothing he said was the truth except the fact that I had 2 'skilled roofers' on my roof who did nothing but point out the countless mistakes. They did nothing to void any warranty, which coming from this grifter, is probably as reliable as his insurance coverage. He doesn't even carry roofing insurance while advertising on his website that he specializes in roofs.

He thinks that by falsely addressing my concerns, the matter is over. I am far from done. My lawyer is in the process of filing a lawsuit against this grifter and the RICR&L board is fully aware of his antics and this matter is going to be addressed at their next board meeting.

Notice how he never mentioned the fact that he subcontracted the work out without my knowledge? He told my friend that they were 'solid guys'. So if they were so 'solid', who are they? why won't you tell me? By the way, I removed the ** units in 'anticipation' of the roof job in the spring. Most people don't use their ** when it's 20 degrees out.
