I hired ***** to replace my front porch and he was agreeable, including sending me a contract with prices, details, etc. He began the process and unfortunately hurt his leg early on so needed to take time, understandably. I've worked with ***** before with no concerns so didn't question paying him the full cost as he was halfway done with the work. ***** communicated with me via text that he would be over to finish the work but never showed up and now is nonresponsive to text, phone, email or social media. ***** is aware that I am relocating and need the work done ASAP to sell my house. If I had more time, I would want him to finish the work but at this time am simply requesting a refund (less the materials he paid for).

This complaint is completely unfounded. I know exactly who made this complaint, I have done numerous jobs for her with excellent reviews. This last job was a porch remodel job, the materials were $550 and the labor was $1450. I received the $550 in advance to pick up the materials which I dropped off at her residence. The first day  on this job we demoed the majority of the porch and left A sheet of plywood in front of the stairs and entrance to the house so that people could walk in and out safely. The second day on the job I got severely injured first thing in the morning and had to be rushed to the emergency room. My helper returned to the job after bringing me to the emergency room and continued working, the work that got done was all the posts were installed and the picture frame decking was installed along with all the other decking. After that day ******* sent me $900 for the work that was completed so far, and we were in contact with each other throughout the whole week and the upcoming weekend. Over the weekend I told her that I was going to try to get there Monday or Tuesday to finish the job  depending on how my leg felt. Unfortunately my helper was unavailable during this whole situation after that last day he put in work. Monday I woke up and was in severe pain and had a fever because the wound was beginning to get infected and due to this I ended up sleeping the day away.  Tuesday morning I woke up and felt much better I looked at my phone and saw what I can only describe as ridiculously escalated and crazy text messages from ******* the homeowner saying that she was going to contact you guys even though I had been in contact with her nonstop  and she knew exactly what was going on and I told her that the job would be done no matter what even if it happened to be after Wednesday the day she was scheduled to leave for *******. I dont see what the problem with that would be considering the job is still not done yet her cousin was working on it two days ago when I stopped by there to see how things were going. Anyways that Tuesday when I read all those ridiculous text messages I called her and let her know what had happened in the previous day and that the job would be finished that week, I said I will come finish the job and you can pay me the $550 that you owe me once its finished . She responded by saying she is not paying me anymore money and she is just going to have her cousin and brother finish the job which is breach of contract first of all and to contact the Better Business Bureau is just completely outrageous.
