    This dealership, Smithfield Classic Cars of *************************************************, RI sold a 1982 GMC pickup truck to my daughter this summer. Allegedly this vehicle was restored. The truck constantly had problems, was returned to the business supposedly be fixed but problems continued. Recently the truck was towed to a reliable repair business to access the truck. After diagnosis, a laundry list of problems was provided including issues that could have caused my daughters death. These were: upon starting, there was a fire due to incorrect ground wire. This could have caused severe injury or death at any time; a steering strut is blown which could create a death wobble, another very dangerous problem. The vehicle leaked ****************** fluid. The coolant overflow tank was not secured. A battery hold was missing and the hood latch and cable were broken. The vehicle burns significant oil and the front brake pads would not pass inspection. Smithfield Classic Cars should not be allowed to sell vehicles that could endanger people. Supposedly this vehicle passed inspection because that business itself inspected the truck. Obviously, that business is in need of inspection by the State. I am seeking full return of my daughters money for this truck ($29,000) and for the 1972 MG convertible ($10,000) she also bought from them. They took full advantage of a woman who knew nothing about buying vehicles.
