Unwilling to help. Always blame the customer for any issues, after spending 1950$ plus 425$ core and then taxes, on a shift good tested 87,*** mile 6l80. with in the first 5 miles of driving it, I realized it was slipping. Put less then 100 miles on it to confirm it indeed was a bad transmission. Sent over all required receipts for transmission install for warranty purposes, only to be called and told I ordered wrong transmission from them and its my fault. My truck was optioned with a tow package and apparently the transmission I got didnt have a tow package note they never ask for your vin to verify until after you bought their part and install. Only after you give them cash ONLY (sketchy) and pay in full do they confirm your vin. After contacting ** parts department and clarifying with them that the only difference in my truck was an upgraded hitch, higher capacity radiator, and trailer brake and nothing to do with the actual transmission. They said all 6l80s were built identical and the slippage was due to worn clutches. They verified the 2 different numbers for a new oem transmission and the 4wd one was indeed correct for my truck. Well general auto playing the card they always do and blaming the customer, as you can see in any other review. Ive done business with them over 10 years. That was the last, when ******* ***** sold this place, it went severely down hill. Ive gone ahead and tore the transmission down to indeed find completely worn 4,5,6 clutch pack.Business Response

The statement of the unwilling to help is false, the statement of blame is also false. You called us and gave us all your information upon placing the order which at said time was no tow package, and was asked twice. You did supply us with receipts of purchase for fluids, filter etc. And where asked for vin to confirm what you placed order for was correct for we did ask prior but it was never given. You stated that you contacted a ** dealer and they verified built identical that is false. They should have given the information liked we got upong confirming as well they are different as follows for your vehicle Trans part#******** and torque converter part#********, and for the vehicle it was order from Trans#******** and the torque converter part#********. Both different and not the same. with all that being said you were last told to see if it could be relearned/programmed and let us know. And we have not heard since that to let us know if that worked or not in ordered to go to the next step. The person you named has not been involved for longer than you stated? And per your contract which states Any transmission that has been sold and disasambled without written permission voids warranty. So in conclusion you never called us back to go further, and you openly admitted you took it apart without contacting us. So you never gave us a chance to go further, and took it upon yourself and voided any warranty now.Customer Answer

FAQ
I stand correct, the parts department did confirm 2 different part numbers. However they did verify and was willing to talk to you guys on my behalf that both the transmissions were interchangeable as long as I had a 5.3 engine. One transmission has a little better clutch package than the other, for towing purposes. However both can be interchanged and work as intended if the transmission was in correct working order to begin with. Even after I had stated, and you can review our recorded calls that I had the transmission programmed and it still slipped, and that I was pretty much screwed with a slipping bad transmission you guys answered with a yes, since I ordered the wrong ******* can also view our calls to prove you did not ask for a vin to verify anything before hand when I ordered the transmission. Id like for you to attach the calls that you claim so they can be reviewed. I went ahead with a tear down after you guys gave a simple blanket statement of saying not exact but in terms of, well thats why we asked if you had the towing option or not, so not much we can do. Nothing about a vin or anything. So go ahead and attach our phone calls for review to prove your claims arent right. Anyhow, a transmission with a burnt 456 clutch pack was sold to me, and after reading probably 70+ other reviews of how you guys operate and dont honor your warranty I decided to view what the actual problem was with the transmission. I wish i had read all the reviews before hand, but after doing business with general auto for over 10 years I figured Id be okay. Unfortunately not.

You ordered it wrong, you installed it without programing it and drove it for as you stated 100 miles or so this way which is also wrong. You called and were told to see about programing for again you stated you did not, and let us know from there what you found out in order to see about the next possible steps. You never called us back to inform us on any of this. You then left this complaint also without contacting us, and then stated what you did without contacting us again. Which at this time you took it upon yourself to take apart transmission, without permission which clearly as stated in warranty voids any warranty. So in conclusion we are not the ones who made errors upon ordering it, installing it, and disassembling it.Customer Answer

FAQ
Again you guys are completely lying and will not share our phone calls, as expected from reading all other reviews left to your company. The transmission was installed, and programmed right away. If you knew anything, you would know that the truck would not even start with out being programmed because the *** would not recognized the tehcm, therefor not allowing it to communicate if it was in park or not. So to even start the vehicle, it needs to be programmed right away. Get your facts straight there. Our phone call definitely indicate that I had the transmission programmed and had experienced issues with slipping immediately. My complaint will not go away and Ill make everyone I can aware of your wrong doings. ******** blast will be next with all the videos of tearing down the toast transmission you guys sold me. I had no choice but to tear down and rebuild going off your horrible business practices seen in so many other reviews. Ive rebuilt the wrong transmission you guys sold me and guess what, its running perfect now. So after spending an additional 1500$ for the rebuild parts I have a working unit. You guys could have at the very least offered money back for a rebuild kit, but why would a shady cash only place do that. So lastly share all of your saved phone calls that you claim, so we can see that your lying. Thanks

On July 7, 2023, we ordered a transmission for a 2017 ****** sentra. On July 17th, after installing, the transmission was faulty. I provided all paperwork **** has requested from us and the faulty transmission was picked up on 08/03/2023. I have been emailing on 8/7, 08/18, 8/25, 9/1, and my response is "management needs to inspect it". I've sent a email on 9/8 and cc the sales manager ***** and have not gotten a response. We have purchased many and many items from General Auto for many years now, this is the only problem we had and this is how they are treating us. We request a refund of $1725.00 that is on the invoice #******Customer Answer

Purchased a bumper assembly online. Sent a wire transfer Sept. 8. Received a bumper Oct. 4 that is not what I purchased. Spoke to ***** the general manager. He stated that I he would give me a credit or something. I have called and called. No luck. I want a refund. I have already purchased a complete bumper assembly elsewhere.Business Response

First and foremost, Customer was sold only a front bumper as it was described online and over the phone several times. Customer was sent pictures showing the condition of bumper yes prior and yes grilles appeared to be in it but were no good and never inventoried for this reason. Upon getting ready to ship out item the no-good grills were removed from cover for again were not included and no good. Yes, we received a phone call from customer stated items were missing, which was explain and that is way this bumper was a third of price versus what other yards were asking and less than what we would ask as well. But with that said yes, I agreed to try and help and look to see if could come up with the grilles. This took a few days and no luck I then asked if the wiring in the front was need due to the fact customers car was hit in front, reply was " I will get back to you" They answer was no. The customer was then told that I would figure out a partial credit retuned to them for they were going to use parts off this bumper. Do to circumstances out of my control I was away due to a death/funeral related matter. Which upon returning received this along with other related items. And phone call as well demanding a full refund and not the agreed upon partial. Also was told that it was not used in any way and had to buy all new. Which at this point the customer was told upon receiving new current pictures to confirm it was indeed not used in anyway or any parts were removed. And that now was days ago and still nothing. So, upon pictures whenever sent to us in a timely manner and after reviewing them we will credit it out according to the outcome/finding.Customer Answer
