      I contacted Aiken Electric Coop in June 2023 because there was an abandoned electrical pole with their name on it on my property even though they do not service my area. The above ground line had fallen. They came out and removed the power line but did not replace it, claiming it did not go anywhere. I contacted them again in January 2024 because the pole had started to lean, and I did not want it to fall on my privacy fence. I requested that the pole be removed, since they did not know about the pole until I told them in June 2023, and they made no effort to repair the fallen line. Therefore, it was abandoned. I also made them aware that the claim of right of easement was not stated on my deed. Between the abandonment of the pole and the lack of easement on the property’s deed, they should remove it but refuse. My kids and the kids of my neighbors play in that area and should not be put in harm’s way by an electrical pole and above ground power lines.

      We replaced the pole last week with a green box. This is the best we can do to address her concerns and properly cover the wires.

      So I have had services with this company for four years. In order for them to even turn your power on you have to give them a $500 security deposit. No matter your credit history. I gave them the money because I needed power, but was promised after one year a full refund of the $500 if all monthly bills was paid on time. After one year of paying all bills on time I was told I had to wait another 16 months to be eligible. Didn't seem right to me. Then after those additional 16 months, I was told I wasn't eligible although all bills were paid on time and was not given a reason why. Finally last month on June XX XXXX I was told they would give me the $500 back. I told them to call me when the check was ready and they agreed. It's now July XX XXXX and they was they mailed my check out june ** although we agreed I would pick it up, and on July ** I have no such check. They refuse to reissue the check although they can see no such check was cashed and is telling me it may be delayed in the mail. I'm sorry but a check going to the same city it is mailed from is not delayed by over a month. This company stealing from the public in my opinion and should be investigated. I have attached a copy of my latest bill to prove I am a customer.
