On December 17th I was involved in an at fault motor accident along ******* ****** ******* on ****** **** ****** ** at approximately 7AM,I tried to call towing to get my vehicle to a shop or to my residence, but the investigating officer ******* * insisted that he would be calling towing for me. When the tow truck arrived I informed the tow driver that I would like the vehicle transported to my residence as I had valuables still in there that I needed including my wedding ring. He informed me that it must go to their lot and that I can go confirm with ******* the officer. I approached ******* and he insisted that my vehicle will have to go the lot so the insurance company can look at it and that’s how it worked, before I could finish speaking with *******, my vehicle was already hooked up and set to leave. The tow driver told me the lot was behind ******* and that I can stop by anytime to retrieve any personal effects.I protested that I wanted the vehicle at my residence and I was not provided with the tow company’s name nor exact location. I had to call out of work because I was not in good shape psychologically, then after a few days I finally locate the towing company ******** ***** ****** *** ******** and they had charged me $710 already and refused anything be taken out of the vehicle without the bill being settled. I believe this is an abuse of authority on the investigating officers part and involving palmetto towing. I have already spent a lot of money on a rental and just want my vehicle back with the items inside. They also refuse to issue me an invoice of any kind.

This towing company is a bit tricky with their location. I think they also purposely do not have their address on the ****** result.

The address they gave me when i spoke to them on the phone was the address below, atleast that was the location they asked to bring my method of payment to, and i assume its the location where the vehicle is located. However the address is  named to a different business, ******** ****** *** **** ******. However the phone number i speak to them with is linked to Palmetto Towing *** ********.

      ******* **** ***** ****** **** ** *****

But this address is listed under

Palmetto Towing and Recovery towed my vehicle because it was parked in a resort parking spot. They alleged to be called to tow it. It was there because our resort had a water main break and had no water. My kids had to use the bathroom. The resort has a contract with this towing company. So if they needed to tow it, so be it I’ll deal with the resort, but Palmetto Towing and Recovery is practicing unethical business practices. Just look at these reviews, they are all the same. They over charged me also, had to have cash only, I went to the ATM, and gave them $260 and needed $10 change, they said they don’t give out change. I told them to send me a check for the $10. They said that they don’t do that, sorry your loss if you want your car. I asked for an itemized receipt, and got none. I was so pissed I will say, I wanted to fight the driver, but I’m better than that, in front of my wife and kids. So many complaints about this place. They don’t even have a legit office to see anyone. Please call me so I can explain further.

This vehicle was parked at ********* ******.

********* ******** calls us when they find a vehicle parked on their property and the vehicle does not have a pass for ********* ******.  ********* ****** calls us several times a day as they have so many cars that try to park on their property as their beach access is very nice.  This causes a parking problem with the paying vacationers staying at ********* ******.  ********* does not call us to tow cars that have a ********* ****** pass. This vehicle did not have a pass and that is why we were called to tow.

We are only doing our job.  ********* does not like people parking anywhere on their property without their permission.    Those are their rules, not ours.

Customers that get their cars towed when they were parked in a spot without persmission, are generally frustrated, angry and upset which in turn makes them angry at us.

Please read all previous emails.  We follow all rules and regulations. We refunded $30 per the direction of the town manager...Details in previous emails.

Yes they refunded the $20 labor fee, I am asking for the “gate fee” which is not legal to charge. Look at the pictures I attached from the town web site. Maximum means maximum! Does not say they can charge a gate fee anywhere
