    I hired S&J to repair my driveway for between $10,000 and $11,000 and was scheduled for mid-November 2021. Even though I choked at this cost I wanted a reputable company to ensure it was done right (I will pay more for expertise). Due to backlog the repair completed on January 10th, 2022. It was near freezing the day they performed the work with snow in the forecast. Within a day or two there was a half a foot of snow on the pavement. I first noticed that the pavement was not holding up as it should in late spring as it was crumbling away and cracking in the areas that S&J repaired. I notified Ted at S&J in August 2022 of these issues. Due to Ted's schedule he wasn't able to inspect the issue until October 18th. At this time Ted pointed out the texture of the pavement wasn’t natural of which he stated that it was from being laid when it was too cold and stated that sealing the pavement would fix it. To ensure the weather was hot, Ted stated he would be back in May to fix this. When May came around I didn’t hear anything from S&J so I once again reached out to Ted on May 15th. At that time nothing was put on the schedule and their tune had changed to “now I have to get approval from the owner” (as if that shouldn't have already taken place). From May 15th until June 23rd I spoke to Ted 9 times and each time he still had to speak to the Owner. On June 23rd he finally gave me the Owner’s (Jose) contact of which I sent him a message that day with pictures (again, even though the pictures don’t show much as it’s hard to see black cracks and black texture on black pavement). Since June 23rd I’ve reached out to the Jose 3 times and have only been ignored. I’m not sure if they treat all their clients like this or just the elderly but this is unacceptable as I can only feel they are taking advantage of us at this point.

    In regards to your driveway we cannot lay asphalt unless it is 40 degrees or above. Asphalt Plants will not make asphalt if temperature is under that, we had asphalt and were able to pave driveway then the temp was most definitely above 40 degrees. We also did cutout and patch 4 areas on your driveway then overlayed your existing asphalt which is where we put 2in compacted to 1.5in of asphalt overtop of your old. So if there were current cracks in your old asphalt eventually they will work there way through the new asphalt. As stated in our contract which you did sign, we do not warranty against existing cracks. At free of charge we were willing to come out and seal coat your driveway. I do apologize that our estimator Ted did not properly communicate with us to schedule that for you. I Scott one of the Owners is willing to take another look at your driveway in person to see what exactly needs to be done. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
