Fraudulently is double charging for eye exam already included in the covered charge by Medicare. Rude and unpleasant support staff.

Went to Clemson Eye Seneca for cataract surgery. Initially was impressed. Seemed efficient and timely for the evaluation. The day before my first surgery I was to receive a phone call with a time for my surgery. Around 4pm the day before my surgery I had not received any call. I called to inquire. Office closed. Called surgical center, also no help. Called on-call number and reached someone who could give me me time of arrival. She also told me that it was not unusual to NOT receive a phone call with time. I was told it happens "a bunch of times". THEN there were billing issues to my insurance. My Explanation of Benefits started showing up which contradicted what Clemson EYE was billing me. Most of surgery was covered with no co-pays on my part. Worked with my insurance company and had 3 way conversations regarding billing with myself, insurance agent and Clemson Eye staff. Clemson apparently owes me quite a bit of money but so far we're getting the run-round. My insurance agent commented on the lack of understanding and willingness to help. We will continue to pursue the billing issues.

I went in for a general I exam since my last one was about 11 months before. This was my first experience with Clemson, I, and it was done there in part because they had an office nearby where I lived. While overall I was satisfied with the service and the professionalism. I was a little concerned that it seemed as though, the ultimate goal was to get me convinced that I was going to need cataract surgery and possibly sooner rather than later. I am wondering if that type of vision work is also done by Clemson eye, which would then potentially suggest that they are going for the big money services rather than just address a possible vision change however, slight it might be.

Electronic system had an appointment glitch/error that cost me hours of wait time. I scheduled my appointment weeks in advance, & confirmed the location that was closest to my job, however after going to the desired location (Powdersville) I was advised that the system confirmed the date/time correctly, but that it somehow didn’t confirm the correct location & I needed to go another 9+ miles out of my way to meet the new appointment location. Luckily, I had arrived 20 minutes earlier to the first (incorrect location in Powdersville), & then proceed to go to the second location located at 1 Halton Green Way, Greenville, SC 29607. The customer service clerk from the Powdersville office contacted the new location and advised them that I was on the way, and acknowledged the system glitch (after I shared with them multiple screenshots and emails received from the automatically generated system), to which I proceeded to go to the new location. I arrived to the new location 3 minutes past my appointment time (at 10:03 am), had to complete paperwork that I had already provided over the phone once more. I waited 40+ minutes to be seen by someone, however I’m honestly not sure if this was because of the volume of folks in the office or frankly due to negligence from the front desk staff (as I had an appointment and was even referred by the other Clemson Eye office - due to the system error). Needless to say, the wait time was excessive and truly unfounded. After meeting with the first nurse, she assisted in doing all the appropriate check-ups, and had me ready to see Dr. Eide. After being dilated, etc., the wait was prolonged once more, and I was finally provided prescriptions for contacts and glasses, and made my way out of the office at 11:55 am. Truly a 2 hour ordeal, that will not have me speaking well of Clemson Eye in the foreseeable future. I was not even told when to go back and have my eyes checkout again (e.g. 1 year or so, or even provided a future appointment)

Buyer Beware: I was ordering sunglasses at Clemson eye in Greenville, S.C. Totaling $194.48. My insurance covered all of my Frames except $2.40 then they proceeded to charge me $192.08 for my lens. when I questioned the charges, they said $31.08 was tax. I told them 7% of $163.40 = $11.44 Tax totaling $174.84. NOT $194.48 I was told they are charging you the tax for the cost of the glasses before Insurance. Please tell me how they can charge me Tax for something I am not buying? This has got to be against the law to do this. In the past I have not been charged this for my glasses. If you purchase a $700.00 TV on sale for $500.00 you only pay Tax on the $500.00 not the $700.00 How can Glases be any different?
