1 starWarning. Do not trust Midas at 937 N Lake Drive in Lexington with your vehicle. They do not take responsibility and evade providing assistance to find out how our son's vehicle was damaged when left in their care. They SAID they would provide video footage to find out why the truck had 2 big dings and a long scrape down the side upon going to pick it up but then they said my husband would have to watch it in their store so he went to watch it. Then they refused to provide the footage without a court order even though we filed a police report. They are putting up multiple obstacles to waste our time and make it difficult. They shared a few pictures of screenshots from the video and one of them showed their employee looking at the damages. WHY would he be looking at the side of the truck if he wasn't the one who did it. If they didn't cause the damage why would they be so evasive. If they had a video of someone else in the parking lot hitting our truck they'd be happy to share I'm sure. Facing up to mistakes is a much better business practice than looking so shady. I will never do business with them and am happy to see they have an F rating so hopefully more people will avoid this place in the future.Review fromAngie L

1 starWarning & Disturbing Midas on Millwood Avenue in Columbia SC untrustworthy. Was given an outrageous price of close to $900 for automotive part then when questioned Rick went down to $500 then tried to charge $200 (website states $149) for them checking diagnostics light which I already told them rear blinker was not properly working but already knew it was not the bulb because I had already had the bulb changed. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I had the oil changed and according to their website, normally should have costed $79.99 but they are running a special of $49.99 which is why I went there in the first place. I also had a coupon for $20 off an oil change which would have been $59.99 at the most. I was charged $90 and was told this was with the $20 off coupon! I will never go back there nor to any other Midas stations. This was my first and last visit.Review fromKee T

1 starWhatever you do, do not take your vehicle to Midas on Decker blvd in Columbia SC! I have a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas that I went to Midas for a simple oil change and now unfortunately it has a tapping sound that was NOT there before! The manager will NOT call me back! When they initially did the oil change I heard one of the employees say that they didn’t have the oil needed to do the oil change. I know I should have recorded that but I was trying to trust their knowledge of doing an oil change. So I came back 1-2 weeks after the oil change and they did their “luxury” oil change but by this time the damage has been done! I don’t know what else to do! They are not taking responsibility for this! Bad customer service and all they care about is money!Review fromMelissa B

1 starMidas made me a quote to install 4 parts and a oil change for $1058, I accepted, during the install it was took longer, I asked if it would cost more was told no, I accepted. after the job was near complete I was told they must add 1 hr labor billed me $1800 I paid and began to drive home, some thing sounded wrong and I returned to shop and asked did you preform a test run they said no we looked at the rear passenger tire it was cockeyed they did the fix I took it to check balance it was off, the next morning I go to shop and explain that 2 hose pipes and lite not installed and after review cant compete service looking for refund for quote $1058 minus the price to install the pipes, labor and regalement as quoted not $1800 plus realignment and have to pay to have the remaking work not done at another site. 1 star.On Saturday, 12/30/23, I picked up my car from Midas. Days prior, Phil Fontain, the manager, called me and told me that my differential did indeed need to be changed and that my brakes also needed to be changed. He quoted me $4825.05. to start the repairs. He stated that the differential had to be ordered and once it arrived he would start the repairs. I was in Alabama at the time for work. I told him to go ahead and make the repairs. Shannon, the front desk receptionist told me that I could try to use one of their financing options, since I only had $5k in my savings and did not want to deplete it. On Saturday, 12/30/23, I was rushing back from Dothan, AL to make it to the shop to pick up my Subaru before they closed for the New Year. On 1/17/24, I dropped my Subaru back off because the initial issue had not been resolved. I stated to Shannon that I was emotionally upset because I wiped out my savings to fix my car and the issue was not fixed. She told me that Phil was at a managers’ conference and that he would not be in that day. She told me I could drop it off and he would take a look at it when he came in. On 1/17/24, the loaner was signed out to me. I had it for about a week. Phil called a day or so later saying he would take a look at it. A few days after that he stated that it was my front wheel bearing, and he would fix it for free since I had just spent a “small fortune” with them recently. About a week later I picked up my car. My Subaru was parked at my home until 2/6/24 when I started driving it because my 2011 Rav4 had started having issues.According to CARFAX, Midas entered me as coming in for an oil change on 2/7/24. This is an absolute lie. On 2/12/24- I took my Subaru to McDaniel Subaru to have a diagnostic done. Service advisor informed me that my suspicions were correct. He and the service manager sat down with me and pointedly explained their findings. Midas did not even touch my differential which was supposed to have been replaced.Review fromEric M

Took my car in because it has a slow start intermittently and wanted to get that fixed on August 15. A tech called me back with what the issue SUPPOSEDLY was and recommended repairs totaling over $1200. This included replacing 2 engine mounts which cost over $600 alone. I paid for the work, picked up my car and within 2 hours of driving my car, I heard the exact same slow crank that I Initially took it in for! Those $1200 i spent did not fix the issue. I immediately called back and let them know the issue has not been taken care of and dropped off my vehicle again the next day. My car was kept at the shop from August 16th to August 28th and I only received ONE phone call from Chase stating that he finally got my car to "act up" on August 18th but couldn't determine where the problem was coming from quite yet. The whole week of the 21st went by and not one call from them. I called Friday August 25th and spoke to Brrianna who said she hasn't been able to get my car to "act up" but one time. I decided to pickup my vehicle the morning of Monday the 28th. At this point, it's been well over a week and I don't trust their work..At all. Even if they were to call me back and tell me what they "think" it is. I've been ripped off for over $1200 and still have the EXACT same issue I initially took it in for. Completely unacceptable. Definitely won't be going back or recommending these folks. Bad business.Midas

1 starMy mom recently had her vehicle serviced at this location she is living on a fixed income via social security. When she called this location she made them aware of her vehicle troubles and she made Emmett Garcia and staff aware that she can only afford up to $400 max due to her fixed income and told them to not go over any repairs over that amount/ or not make repairs over $400 budget upon the call to pick up her vehicle Emmett Garcia and staff told my mom repairs were $755.08 and advised her that they couldn’t undo any repairs and that she had to the $755.08 to get her vehicle back. This is very deceiving my mother never agreed to the repairs she was forced to pay $755.08 with her rent money. Staff also told my mom upon “making” the repairs that it’s nothing they can do it’s out of their hands said the manager on duty at the hard scrabble location even after I advised him that they scammed my mom out of $755.98 they lied and said her battery was corroded and was causing damage to her air in her vehicle however upon picking up her vehicle she got the battery the shop deemed corroded and brought it back to Walmart in which she bought it and the certified mechanic tested her battery in front of her and it passed and showed her that she was indeed charged for a battery she didn’t need. My mother’s vehicle new an alternator that’s it but instead she was bullied and scammed into purchasing a battery and the manager at this location refused to refund her the battery cost or refund her money for the service she did not authorize this place is indeed scam artistsReview fromBritt T

1 starThis Midas shop doesn't need my business. They have all the business they can handle. The owner must be making a killing. But to let you know terrible customer service. They kept my truck for 2 days and did nothing. I never received a phone call or anything and when I called they stated they were on it now and would call me back. I never heard from them. I finally went at the end of the second day and picked it up. The truck had not been touched.
