      Unfortunately my employer uses companion for their short term disability. I must say they are the slowest company I’ve ever had to deal with. I sent in direct deposit information from my bank and yet I still have to wait on my checks in the mail. Companion pays every Tuesday. I received only one check on time within the six weeks I’ve been out of work. My check was mailed April 3rd 2023 and I’m still left watching the postman drive past my box daily. I have bills pulling up and services being interrupted and all I get is an unsympathetic response.

      Terrible service... We paid our co pay for a regular Dr. Visit (nothing extra was done ). When we signed up for health insurance, companion health insurance told us for a regular office visit we only needed to pay a $30.00 co pay but than They ended up Never paying for anything . So Why have health insurance and have to pay all the medical bills??? *** please stay away from them***

      I am fairly certain that this company is guilty of medical fraud. After nearly a year of submitting documentation supporting a medically necessary oral surgery (which they pre-approved) they decided to deny the claim. They continue to state that the narrative and pathology was insufficient to support the claim, even though adequate reports were sent and confirmation was received. Apparently their so called "experts" deemed the procedure unnecessary after the fact, even though the three dental providers treating my son said the surgery was indeed necessary.

      The worst company I've ever had to deal with. They are nonresponsive to our company. Their decisions are not based on actual information. I was approved for short term disability for the period of 9.27 to Nov 1st. They sent me a check for the period from Oct 11th to the 24th....stating that would be my only payment. Based on the approval, even if you take 2 weeks off the front of my approval time there are still days that should be paid after the 24th. Never should our company use them going forward from 2022. Pat S

      5 weeks before receiving a check,, jump threw hoops made multiple calls delivered appropriate papers,, behind on bills.. now wondering if I will get another check, stressful in a already stressful time.

      Terrible customer service. No communication initiated by them. You only know of any paperwork issues when the consumer initiates the call. I was told one form of paperwork was accepted then was told weeks later, that wasn't correct when I called to find out what the hold up was with receiving a check. I was given a few dates of when the check was sent. I never received it. I was told numerous times they could only stop payment if I printed off a form to sign. I told every rep that I do not have a printer. I learned today that is not actually true and they can stop a check and reissue another without a signature. I was also told "It would cost us so much money to track a check, you would only get back like $10."...... obviously that isn't true. So now, it's late February and I still do not have a check. Funny how Companion got money from every single one of my checks in a timely manner. Worst communication ever, terrible service that they don't track checks and make the consumer jump through red tape.
