Bought a new PHEV in fall of 2024. At time of purchase, they asked if I wanted to take the tax credit or assign it to the dealership. I elected to take the tax credit for myself. For several months, I emailed them asking for a copy of IRS Form 15400 and proof that they had entered the sale in the IRS ECO portal within 3 days of the sale as stated in the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act which authorized the tax credits. If they do not enter the sale in the portal, the purchaser cannot claim the tax credit. After several months of emails with the manager with no response, he eventually informed me that dealership participation in the IRS ECO was optional and that were not going to participate. Just filed my taxes and my return/tax credit was rejected because the dealership did not input the sale into the IRS ECO portal. At the time of sale when I elected to claim the tax credit myself, they did not inform me either verbally or in writing that they would not participate in ECO and, therefore, that I could not claim the credit on my personal tax return. They are not remorseful and state only that they are sorry that they cannot help me with the tax credit. Be forewarned: if you buy a qualifying EV/PHEV car from this dealership (or the other McDaniels dealerships?), you cannot claim a tax credit when you file your personal taxes.

I had the worst customer experience at McDaniel's Subaru of Columbia. I left a deposit for a Toyota Tundra on 4/5 and was super excited. I filled out the credit application online and informed them I was coming from out of state and would fly in and pick up the vehicle. The ran my credit and informed me I was approved through Wells Fargo, so I booked my flight to SC, Hotel Room, hired a car service to take me to the Airport and added the truck to my insurance policy. The sales manager Angel called me on 4/8 to tell me the management wanted me to finance the truck through Subaru because that was their 1st choice, but they bank could not get in contact with me. I never received a 2nd call from Subaru despite the sale manager stating they would contact me. McDaniels Subaru of Columbia are a bunch of dishonest crooks! They priced the Toyota Tundra too low, and they realized it after they had a ton of activity on it and decided to change our initial finance agreement to get me to back out of the deal so that they can sell the truck for more money. Well, there tactic worked great and now I’m out the money on the flight I booked. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM McDaniels Subaru!

Horrible experience at their Audi dealer in Charleston South Carolina. We were trying to go from our current Audi lease, the second one in a row we’ve had, to a third lease and the saleswoman was horrible. She treated us like we were an inconvenience more than anything and like we can’t afford a newer one, even though we already have a 2022 Q7. I put forth all the effort to try and communicate with her and it took several days to get a response email each time. She didn’t make any effort to sell us on a newer one and when she pulled up a new Q7 she didn’t ask if we wanted to drive it or anything like that. My wife and I felt extremely judged and unwelcome at the dealer. I’ve taken the initiative to reach out to Audi USA customer service and request a call back to discuss it further but not sure how much that will help. I’ve never felt so dismissed and unwelcome in my life. The only real positive we gained was knowing we won’t lease another Audi at this point. The saleswoman even said they won’t assist in buying out a lease because it’s too much of a hassle and liability and it’s not worth the effort essentially. So even if we decide to buy it out, it seems we have to go to another dealer an hour or two away to be able to do so because this dealer can’t be bothered to do something that I thought they had to as an Audi dealer. Horrible experience that I hope to never repeat again.

The service department at McDaniel's Acura off Killian road have a history of very unsavory business practices since moving to the Killian Rd location in North East Columbia. They have sold and installed aftermarket parts on my vehicle while misrepresenting them as certified Acura oem parts but charging the higher premium. Today I went to an oil change appointment and presented a service coupon sent directly from McDaniel's Acura stating that, "WE ACCEPT ANY SERVICE COUPONS YOU RECEIVE FROM ANYONE!" I brought a price match coupon that I had also received in the mail from a competitor. At the time of the service write up by the service advisor Mike, I handed him my coupons and he agreed to adjust the amount owned to reflect the coupon price match after the service was completed. When I returned to pickup my vehicle Mike had gone to lunch so I dealt with his boss, Bryan Elledge, who was the Head Service Manger. When I alerted him to the coupon that Mike had approved and accepted BEFORE any services was rendered. He said he couldn't accept their own coupon. I told him that they should have disclosed that before agreeing to service my vehicle. He repeated over and over that HE didn't have to accept my coupon even though the service advisor, Mike had approved the coupon before the start of the service. Basically holding my vehicle hostage until I payed the unfair ransom. These types of business practices are crooked & shady. I will never buy another vehicle from McDaniel's considering other similar complaints from other people. I wouldn't let these unscrupulous people at this establishment squeegee my windshield if it needed to be cleaned. This type of corruption usual starts from the top and this apple seems to be rotten to the core.

The service department messed up my 2022 Volkswagen by failing to replace oil filter seal twice when doing routine maintenance. That has caused more issues of replacement of timing cover, pcv valve, and valve cover. My Atlas has been in shop since 8/2/23, awaiting parts that's on back order. McDaniels refuse to reimburse me for a rental, provide assistance with a rental, and don't offer loaners. I have explained on multiple occasions the Atlas is my only means of transportation and their assistance would be appreciated. Only to keep receiving a response of they don't participate in VW loaner/rental assistance program. Ok I understand that, try to understand my vehicle is in the shop due to the service department negligence, so out the company business account, assistance and reimbursement should be provided.

I went to McDaniels Volkswagen to get air in my tires after my sensor light came on that my air pressure was low in tires. I purchased my first ever Volkswagen in 2018 with a preowned manufacturers' 6 year warranty. I was astonished when I asked for someone to just put air in my tires and was told that it would be $14.95 as an instant response to my request. I will need to replace all my tires before next year.... all I can say to this place of "no care business"...is kiss my ***........not getting that purchase from me either. Just to be clear, you will only see me when expectations are not met of this vehicle as per warranty issues. So very disappointed in this company!! The real rating is -100

My car lights ( charging system and awd needed attention. The battery died and I had to have my car towed to dealership. The service tech called and stated that I needed a alternator and the cost would be $1000.00. I said man Ican buy new alternators for $89-$189.00. They also told me I needed four new tires and an alignment. I said I just had the car to Acru of Savannah and they replace two tires and did an alignment. Need to say I am dissappinted
