    I purchased a 2019 RAV4 from Midlands Toyota in October ‘23. 5 mo later, my lift-gate was unable to close due to faulty hinges. The trunk is hanging crooked from the rest of the body, causing further damage to the rest of the body the more I drive it. I’ve spoken to warranty and they refuse to cover it getting fixed as it’s a body issue. *There is currently a pending class action lawsuit against Toyota right now for this exact same issue on RAV4* So I spend a week calling Midlands Toyota and explaining this and how I would like some financial help fixing this $2k+ issue on a car I just bought - I was given the run around by nearly every staff member, waited a cumulative number of hours on hold throughout the week, and finally had T. Kelly call me and tell me “they will take care of it” (his exact words). I made an appointment for the following month to get it serviced under the assumption it will be no charge, I live 900 miles away from the dealership so I had to drive my broken car this distance (again, causing further damage to the body), rent hotels, arrange pet care for my dogs, rent a car to drive in SC while it was being fixed, and take more than a week off work. I finally get to SC for my appointment and Kelly comes out to shake my hand - telling me I’ve been “his number one priority for the past month”. I’m again assured it will be “taken care of”. Well, when I call the next day on an update, they not only tell me I will be paying out of pocket to have it fixed, but that the $1500k quote from their partnered body shop “may or may not” even fix the issue. They’ve also claimed the body damage in the front of the car is indicative of a wreck, which was confirmed to NOT be listed on the car fax. Instead of working on my car, they then try to sell me ANOTHER CAR. I said I would if I could come out not owing more money than my current loan. Kelly looked at me and said “you’re not coming out on top of this” and walked away. Liars, unprofessional, rude.
