Per **** ****** Construction's recommendation, went through ****** ***** at ********** ********* to have my solar panels uninstalled and reinstalled so that **** ****** Construction could replace my roof due to hail damage. Jeremy arranged to have BroCo Solar do the uninstall and reinstall. BroCo Solar was aware this was covered under a homeowner's insurance claim. However, BroCo Solar started billing me on May 16, 2022 (invoice 1192 dated 5/20/22) for the full $10,000 indicating it was due 5/27/22. I received numerous emails requesting payment even one threatening to put a lien on my house despite my repeatedly reminding them it was an insurance claim. The uninstall was done May 20, 2022. The new roof was installed May 24-25, 2022. The reinstall by BroCo Solar was done May 26-27 and June 1, 2022. During the process of uninstalling the panels, they claimed squirrels had damaged the panels and that they would not work after the reinstall unless I paid extra to have the squirrel damage repaired. I declined since I didn't want to pay additional money unless the panels didn't work after the reinstall. Although they put all the panels back on the roof, they did not even attempt to get them working again. I had to hire another solar company to get the solar panels back on line. The only damage they found was 4 microinverters that needed replacing. The others were working just fine. Noticed and reported roof leak in daughter's bedroom June 30, 2022 to **** ****** Construction. They checked it out and determined that leak was due to extra nail holes in roofing tiles apparently done during solar panel reinstall. **** ****** Construction has attempted to negotiate with BroCo Solar to get them to pay to replace the damaged roofing tiles with no success to date. The remedy I am seeking is to have BroCo Solar pay to have the damaged roofing tiles replaced by **** ****** Construction to fix the roof leak.

BroCo Solar does not use nails on any portion of a solar installation. **** ****** Construction has not reached out to BroCo Solar once to discuss this matter. We have not heard from the customer or the roofing company since completion. This is an invalid claim.

I am rejecting this response because:

A representative from **** ****** Construction has informed me that he called BroCo Solar 4 times.  On one of the calls he was referred to some lady who presumably ignored his message and never called back.  He was requesting (on my behalf) that someone from BroCo Solar come out and inspect the damage.  He was unable to reach anyone that could make a decision or to get anyone to come out and inspect the damage.  Apparently I misunderstand the nature of the damage but have been informed that the shingles were ripped (not by nails but by the installation of the solar panels).

**** ****** Construction has been very professional in trying to resolve this issue.  BroCo Solar is very unprofessional, not customer oriented, and has very poor communication skills.

I still want BroCo Solar to come out and access the damage and work with **** ****** Construction to resolve this issue because it is a valid complaint that needs to be resolved since the new roof is damaged and leaking.

    Sincerely,

    *** ******

Once again the story has changed that shingles have been “ripped off”. **** ****** Construction has not called BroCo Solar as we do not have a female that would be answering the phone lines. This is the first we have heard of any shingle issues. The customer has the personal cell phone number to the CEO of BroCo Solar and has not once called him to discuss these issues. Once again this is a false accusation and BroCo Solar has hundreds of pictures to verify this is inaccurate.
