My 7 year old son is non verbal and is on the autism spectrum and was going to speech & occupational therapy with Capital City Therapy Group. They told me and my fiancé that they are pausing Messiah sessions until school starts then they will resume his sessions until school starts. So my child can have a break since he has been doing speech & OT all year round. We called them back 3 weeks after school started and ask them when is Messiah start date again. Shelby (front desk) told us that my child needs to be settled in his school longer and work on his behavior before they give us a return date. That was never communicated to us and I immediately requested to have a meeting with the director / owner (Ms. Chris) and his therapist (Sarah White), We also told Shelby we were not all on the same page and I need answers. We expressed to Shelby that they are aware that my son is on the autism spectrum and sometimes have a short attention span, and for sensory purpose he takes his hand and slap the right side of his forehead, and very energetic, which are all symptoms of having autism and why are y’all labeling him, saying he needs to get his behavior under control, sounds like when the new therapist started with the company just want to deal/ have patience with my son. Shelby said she agrees and see where I’m coming from and will set up the meeting for us to all be on the same page. Then 5 mins later we get a call from Ms. Chris the owner, we asked her when will my son sessions resume she stated oh your son is no longer seen by our office. I did ask her how is this possible when he was on a break so y’all basically released him w/o informing us. I kept asking her why wasn’t this emailed to me or his dad or why wasn’t their a release form stating a end date of services with my signature/ their signature and explanation of why they released him, she didn’t have the answer for that. Ms. Chris stated she felt like her company wasn’t a best fit for my son. I ran out of room.
