I initially agreed to purchase a car from this business in early March of this year. I put a $3500 down payment on a 2011 Nissan Maxima that was being sold for $5500. Two days later the transmission failed. I returned the car and asked for another. He did not give me a choice on what vehicle I got. He gave me a 2007 Toyota Avalon which he priced $1000 more than the last car. A couple of weeks later I had to pay someone to put a starter in it. Then in a couple more weeks the car gave out every 10 miles I would go. I had it tested. The mechanic confirmed the car was no good and whoever sold it to me knew it. The car quit on me in a car wash. I had no one to call. I am a single mother, homeless, in this city alone with no extra resources. The car had been towed. The owner said he wouldn’t pay to get the car because it wasn’t worth the price the tow yard wanted, which at the time was $1000. I couldn’t afford it due to having to pay to get back and forth to work along with living everyday life. This man was mean, rude, nasty and dismissive the entire time I dealt with him. I was afraid to talk to him again; he was a bully. However, I was desperately trying to rebuild my life. The owner of the tow yard had the same sentiments about the owner’s attitude and disposition. I need a reliable vehicle so I can get back and forth to work and transport my children to school and work. I have paid more than enough and deserve a decent car. That is all I ask for, what I worked hard to get. He took advantage of me. He has a few nice vehicles on his lot but he pulled one from his junkyard for me.
