    We had a 5 zone Irrigation System installed in our front lawn on November 8 2023. When we started using the system in late April and May of this year, The water did not cover the whole lawn. We had brown areas where the grass was dying. We also have ******** to kill weeds. We contacted ******** about the dead grass, they came out to see the problem and said the grass was not getting any water. We emailed Cochran landscaping several times and left messages on their answering system. For weeks they did not return our attempts. Finally a man called and we talked. He agreed to come out and see the problem. I mailed him pictures of our lawn and a copy of our warranty. That was the first week of July. It is now the middle of August and he has not been out, does not return calls or answer my emails.

    I have already reached out to this client on three separate occasions.  They told me that everything was perfectly fine for a year, then they stated it wasn’t and again they stated it was. I’ve reached out as recently as a day ago with no response.  Our belief is that there is an issue with water pressure from the city side but have been unable to come to a conclusion due to the fact that the homeowner will not coordinate a time with us to come to the property.

    Entered into contract with Cothran Landscape company to build a little open brick wall around existing patio in front of my house. They finally came to do it and told me it was finished, but too dark to see. They asked for final payment and I gave it to them. Should not have because the next morning I saw the awful job they did and they didn’t install the two gates listed in the contract. Have called and sent numerous texts over the last year with a short reply that they would fix it but not one thing has been done. Please tell me what to do

    Entire Wall" is simply put, a sloppy job!

    It is covered in mortar, the mortar has fallen out.   
    They did not clean up the cement off of the existing patio.  There are many other issues.
    The contract says "TWO gates" and I do not have a single ONE.

    She is correct the wall doesn't look great... The reason we were unable to 100% finish the work is that the HOA demanded we leave the subdivision before wrap up/ proper clean up of mortar could be completed.  We were never made aware that our firm was under a time constraint or a restricted work situation prior to starting the job.  Due to this situation of which we have well documented proof that we were run out of the subdivision we are unwilling to complete additional work at no charge.  I met with the client along with my entire team back in December 2023 on site after the fact and went over all of this and she is unwilling to come to terms with paying us more money to come in and render what her HOA in essence caused.  I have on several occurrences told the client we will get her taken care of but I must be compensated for my work and she disagrees therefore this situation has become very difficulty to resolve.

    The salesman from Cochran Landscaping met with the HOA - **** ****** *********** ********, ****** ****** which is required before any work can be done.  *** ***** fully explained to them that this was a "Retirement Community" and NO work was allowed after an hour before sunset.  She also told them that the worksite had to be cleaned everyday before they left and that no signs were allowed at any jobsite.  

    *** ***** will be glad to testify to this and that she met with them.

    If you will go on the Cochran Landscape Website, you will find many complaints, grievances and unfinished jobs similar to my situtation.

    No one gave any notice of any kind.  In fact my firm has never run into an instance where we were ask to leave a job before the work was completed and/ or the type of work required that we stay on the site until it was in fact done.  Our contracts also state that if any outside entity or person interferes with our due process that additional fees will be incurred.  Just because we have a handful of complaints has no bearing on the one at hand.  Also, let's take into account that my company has been in business for 24 years and I think we have less than 30 total complaints.  That is a very solid track record.  We do make mistakes but when we are wrong we make it right.   This client and her associate that met with myself and my staff admitted that it was a mistake on their part but wanted us to fix it anyway.  That is not a fair and ethical way to go about things in this case.  I will gladly fix the work but must be compensated properly in order to do so.

    We contracted with Cochran Landscape Management, Inc. in April of 2023 to perform services including irrigation system installation in our front and back yard, sod in our front and back yard, extending downspouts, mulch, dig out edge, and clean up back yard. We agreed to a price of $9,030.00 and paid a $3,010.00 deposit via check on 04/17/2023. After multiple emails with multiple representatives (Carter B*****, Justin G************) and numerous unreturned calls to their office after leaving voicemails, we have made no headway on starting this project, and it has now been over 1 year since we initially reached out for a quote. While we understand that there are multiple factors that can delay a project including weather, supply chain issues, staff turnover, and other unforeseen circumstances, we are dissatisfied with this company's empty promises to start this project (initially told May/June of 2023, then September, then October, then we agreed upon this spring as the weather got colder, and now I have heard nothing from the company after reaching out via email and telephone). If we can receive a refund of the initial $3,010.00, we will be satisfied with the outcome and try to find a different company to perform the services requested.

    Refund check received. We eventually agreed on delaying to Spring of 2024 after a pattern of failure on their part to communicate and empty promises on time frame, including once Spring of 2024 arrived. While my interactions with the owner were positive, my faith in the company completing the work was understandably gone by the time I heard from him directly, over 1 year after initially reaching out for the work, after multiple unsuccessful phone calls and emails to the company to see about completing the project.

    On March 21,2023 I contracted with Cochran Landscape to create a mulch bed for my front and side yards followed by planting native trees and shrubs. This work should have been done in the spring as the summer heat is too stressful for new plants. I repeatedly contacted the salesman for a date when they would start the work. May 15th I left a voice message at their office wanting to speak to the owner, they had the salesman call me with more false promises of when they would start the work. On June 8th I spoke to the salesman and told him my concerns about the plants surviving a hot dry summer. I requested they schedule me for the beginning of October. On October 9th I called the salesman whose mailbox was full so I sent him a text message. Again on October 16th I asked when they would begin the work. On Monday October 23rd he said they would do the work Thursday October 26. I rescheduled a doctor's appointment for that day. They didn't show up. When I spoke to the salesman at the end of day he said he was meeting with his boss to schedule me for the following week. Here it is Wednesday of the following week and they have not arrived to do the work or even called or texted me. October has come and gone, it is November and they have had my large deposit of $3333.34 for over 7 months. The above dates and conversations are select representations of numerous communications with this company. I have asked for my deposit back since it seems they are too busy to do the job. They ignored my request. A review of your website shows that you have resolved issues with this company before. This indicates to me that there is a pattern of this company not following through on their obligations. I hope you can help me resolve my problem with this company as you have helped others in the past.

    On March 27, 2023 a rep from Cochran Landscape Management came to our home to give us a quote on removing shrubs from the front and side of our house and replacing them with new plants. Piping of gutters to pop ups in the front yard was also involved. Mulching and weed fabric was also included. After agreeing to the quote, we met with the rep at a nursery to pick out the plants. This was on April 6, 2023. On April 11 2023 we signed the contract and mailed in the deposit which was one third of the job. After hearing nothing for a few weeks I called the rep about the status of the job. He replied that they were looking at the week after memorial day or the first week in June. I told him to keep me in the loop as I was having surgery in June and would like to get it done before then. From that point there was no more communication until I called the rep on August 28 2023. Someone else answered his phone and told me that the company phone was assigned to him now. I assume that my rep is no longer with the company. I then called the company phone number and got the voice mail. A lady called right back and said that someone would be in touch. That call is the last call that I have received. After a sept. 12 and a sept.27 call went to voice mail we feel like we have lost the desire to have this company do the work for us. It is going on 6 1/2 months now since the contract was initiated and there is NO communication at all. this is just unacceptable for a company to do this. There was not a supply problem back in April at the nursery either. All we ask is that in good faith our deposit be returned to us and that this nightmare will be over. After all that has transpired we would hope that this will be the end result. We will consider the matter closed if we can come to this agreement. Thank You

    I provided Cochran Landscaping a deposit check in the amount of $735 on 4/30/2023. Work was to be complete within 6-8 weeks. It has now been 15 weeks and work continues to get postponed. I cannot reach anyone by phone and emails are not being answered. At this point, I am not comfortable with this company performing the work and would like a full refund of my deposit.

    Multiple calls made to the office to have someone come check the catch basin that was installed 3 months ago. It was said to have a warranty and when it rains it’s not draining properly. Have called 7 times and am told someone from management will call back and they never do. I would like a refund for my time at this point. This is the worst customer service interaction I’ve ever experienced.

    We have fought a fungus since installation and despite our maintenance companies attempt to treat it after dormancy this is what we are left with this season. The lawn is only a year and 4 months old.

    The client was sold a product that was in 100% viable condition when installed. We were paid for the work when complete and the client was thrilled with the work. We do not have a contract to provide any follow up care on this clients turf or anything else we installed. He has been informed of this on multiple occasions but has been combative throughout.  It is likely, as he was informed that the lack of maintenance (leaf removal… leaves were piled on the lawn in the off season…. As well as not treating with fungicides.) likely lead to this result. We cannot be responsible for caring for a product that we are not contracted to provide ongoing services.

    First ordered 10/12/22 Work started 12/5/22 Work finished 12/14/22 They committed to quality work and warranty, including materials and labor, for one year. We have tried to make contact several times to get corrections made to a number of issues--e.g., dead plants, stained sidewalk--and have not had the courtesy of a reply. We've called and/or written to three separate people, including the owner, with no response. We are left with the question as to whether they'll honor their commitment. The odd thing is we told them we are interested in them doing more work for us. We did get a visit from one person who said he was just following up on their work. It seemed unconnected with our attempts to make contact. We explained our issues. He said he'd be back to us that very week. That was a month ago. This Better Business Bureau presumably will want to know this experience represents the quality of their business. practice. We have not yet contacted anyone else on this, but intend to make known our dissatisfaction to as many agencies as appropriate and to the public.

    We have reached out on multiple occasions to this client.  Left voicemails on 1/18 and again on 2/3.  As client stated we even spoke with him on one occasion to check on the work that we had already completed.  The customer seemed great and actually inquired about additional work.  We have made every effort including another e-mail sent directly to customer immediately following this concern yesterday.  No response has yet been received.  This is our fifth total attempt to contact this customer.  Our staff will be glad to assist and again recommends that the client call us back at: 864-******** in order to schedule a time for one of our representatives to visit the property and go over any concerns.

    I received your message to BBB replying to the complain we filed. I must say I'm surprised and disappointed at its contents.

    -I believe my complaint was sent on 2/14. If I'm not mistaken your notice to BBB was given on the same day. Yet, you say, "no response has yet been received." ???
    -I've looked back, through January, at the voice messages on my iPhone. There are none for 1/8 nor 2/3. Nor are there any other messages over that time from your staff.
    -Yes, we did have one visitor here. As mentioned in the complain, he promised to get back to us that
    week with information. We have never heard from him, nor anyone else.
    -So, to say you've made four contact attempts without response is more than questionable.
    -On the other hand, you might ask Burt to check his voice messages. I have left no fewer than four for
    him without the courtesy of a reply. There's also an unanswered message left for Mike.
    -Below is a cut and paste of a letter I sent to you on January 30. I was about to send this, along with the
    contract, to BBB for their records. I sent it to three different addresses with no returns because of an
    inadequate address.
    We had no issue with the responses or the service from your staff until the job was finished and they received our final check. After that the absence of response has been deeply disappointing. Nor are we unhappy with the work they did with two or three exceptions about which we were wanting to make contact. And, as I've said and as we've explained to the individual who was here, we want to get an estimate on another possible job. And, by the way, doesn't the fact that you have known about that last point, suggest it was known and ignored.

    We'll be glad to here further from you or anyone in Cochran.

    We've been trying to get the attention of your staff to discuss new business, as well as, follow-up action to the business we've already given you and for which you have contractual obligations. Judging by the values and principles both expressed and applied in your marketing material, we doubt you accept such practices as we've been experiencing lately.

    Granted our needs are minor relative to the projects you perform, but that should not make the difference between common courtesy and ignorance.

    We've left several messages for Burt, but he has refused to return our calls. We've spoken with Hayden who promised to get back to us but hasn't. We've left a message for Mike, who has not responded.

    We haven't a clue as to why they practice business this way. If it they think we did something offensive, we'd like to know so we can apologize or explain or both.

    We do not want to take drastic steps and sincerely hope we will not have to. We want to stay with your company to finish the work we have on our property. If we have to, we'll take action to register our complaint with the relevant public and private agencies and publicize our experience for the general public.

    As stated before please contact our office at 864-******** and we will gladly set up a time to look over any additional concerns.  No electronic communications have been received by you or from anyone on our staff prior to this BBB notification.  Furthermore, no letters or forms have been received by our firm from you via US mail. A simple call to our office is all we would need but again we have reached out already on multiple occasions and even come by your place.  Using the BBB in this fashion when a company is making proper efforts to contact & resolve issues is not the correct resolution method.  This concern is quite strange still as one of our quality control individuals came by your place voluntarily to check on the prior job that we completed for you even before this BBB transaction occurred.  Not sure what else we can do unless our office is contacted at this point to set up an appointment.
