    Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:
    Minnesota Department of Commerce vs NewRez
    On August 17, 2022, the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce has advised they are prepared to commence formal action and other applicable law based on allegations that NewRez incorrectly applied 54 of 58 payments by consumers from January 2020 to December 2021. NewRez has voluntarily repaid all interest over payments by consumers and agreed to not re-apply the interest under payments by consumers as not all misapplications of payments resulted in financial harm to consumers.  The company has waived their right to any notice or opportunity for a hearing on any civil penalty imposed by the commissioner. The company will pay a civil penalty of $54,000  + costs to the State of Minnesota and conduct an audit of all Minnesota mortgages whose servicing rights were transferred from TCF Bank, N.A. to NewRez since January 1, 2019. The Consent Order was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law. For more details go here

    I receive a letter in May 9 2024 that my mortgage was going to go down to $1908.97 previous it was $2509.59 for several months they did an escort analysis they had time to change it, I went to the app to pay my mortgage. They have not been changed. I wanted to the app.07/09/2024 to pay it again, they still have not changed it. I got into the 15 to make a payment for they hit me with a late fee. I feel that I shouldn’t have to pay that late fee due today negligent I’m reaching out to you to resolve this issue so I wouldn’t have to pay this late fee. They still have not changed it and it been five days since I notify them over five days so they have time to pay a late fee $30 late fee due to the negligent

    ***** I was with SLS and paid my house off on 4-25-24. There is an escrow balance that was owed to me. I was told it had been sent by mail, later told it was never mailed. Now Shellpoint owns SLS I'm told and no one can pay me what I'm owed. Spoken to mulple reps that have all lied saying they would call me, email me and make sure refund was sent. Never have heard from anyone!!! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS COMPANY !!!! I NEED MY MONEY !!!!!!!
