    We used A to Z Speech Therapy for our young daughter ******. A to Z Speech Therapy filed the paperwork with insurance and informed us that we met our deductible and had up to 60 visits to use during the calendar year 2022. We did not use all of the visits and ceased speech therapy in the Fall. We confirmed zero balance. In January, A to Z Speech Therapy informed us they made a mistake with insurance and that we had to pay over $900. We disputed it with them and stated this was the coverage you (A to Z) confirmed we had with your services and now after the fact you are charging us for something you said was covered. This is unacceptable. A to Z Speech Therapy without further discussion or notification charged my debit account $951 today July 24th. This has put a severe strain on our finances and I feel this is unacceptable because we followed the information and advice of A to Z Speech Therapy. I am disputing this charge and would like to follow up for a refund.

    We apologize for your unhappiness with regards to settling the balance due on your account. We clearly and concisely make all of our clients aware in their intake paperwork, that your agreement with your insurance carrier is a private one. We will attempt to submit claims to your insurance on your behalf purely as a courtesy, however the ultimate responsibility for payment of services belongs with the client. Due to the vast array of insurance policies, policy exceptions/exemptions, and life events, insurance coverage cannot by guaranteed by a provider. This policy is clearly posted in our facility as well as captured in a signed agreement with every new client. Because of HIPAA regulations, we are not able to discuss the specifics of this posted comment, however it should be noted that when a client has a balance due, we strive to explore all options for resolving it including due date extensions, payment plans, and remain open to discussing other options as well. However, if we have spent months trying to reach a client to resolve the issue and all contact attempts are ignored or disregarded, we will utilize the payment method on file that our clients have authorized us to use.
