Feb, 24 2025 I traveled to Greenville South Carolina interested in purchasing a car at a different dealership. The car was sold when I got there so I saw a car here and stopped to ask about it. First they said they would need a co signer and 2000 down and that was fine, I called my mother who said she would cosign, next they said they needed 2600 down and I would be approved as buyer and mother cosigner, once they had my money they switched everything up and it went from a 2019 altima to a 2015 altima, then asked for my mothers bank account info to automatic draft payment, I asked why do you need hers if shes just the cosigner, cant you take it out of mine? that when they informed me that they took me off the loan completely and listed my mother who wasnt even present, as the only buyer. I said no thats not gonna work that is not what the aggreement was. I then asked for my money back, given the run around and told to ask the owner. I asked for my money back and any copies of paperwork they had drawn up with any of mine or my mothers info on it and they refused to provide me with any of it . I had NOT signed anything still at this point. He refuses to give me any copies and tell me the whole thing is null and void and still refuses to give me my money back stating that its nonrefundable. I asked where was that stated at cause its no where in the office and he said its on the receipt. I told him I never gotten any receipt and he goes inside tells the women Paige to give me a receipt, she hand writes a receipt in my mothers name and writes on the top of it nonrefundable and hands it to me. I said thats not right, that is sulpose to posted and the customer is to be informed before you take their money. He then kicks me out and off the property stating gonna call the police and have me locked up for trespassing. no paperwork had ever been signed nor was it posted anywhere in the office at the time of this event.Initial Complaint

I purchased a vehicle from A B U auto sales on 12/28/24 on 1/13/2025 the vehicle broke down on 1/14/25 I took it back to ABU dealership on 1/15/2025 the owner called me stating that I didn’t have a warranty with the finance company I told them I know that the finance company said that the dealership should have a 30 day warranty he proceeded to say they did not have a warranty & telling me that I had to cover the repair. There was no option about getting me in another or refunding me the money I put down on the vehicle.Business Response

Abu Auto Sales , sell all cars as is , if the customer doesn’t purchase a service contract from a third party , the customers can protect their vehicle by purchasing a service contract form a third party , if they don’t , then the sold car as is .
this time we are doing the repairs , to ensure our customer satisfaction .

I bought a Nissan pathfinder 2019 on June 1, 2024. Bought the car in cash for $9500. Can’t get the title since there was a lien placed on the car the same day for $6950. I had a sales person of name Arisleysis tell me that it would only be 2,000 down on a gmc I was interested in. We agreed with the amount without signing anything. She told me it would cost 250 to hold the car. But she told me I could send the whole down payment as I was getting the car. Once the money was sent she messaged me and said the downpayment is not enough and she needed almost double to give me the GMC. Seeing that’s not what we agreed on and the terms of the finance changed I asked for my downpayment back without the deposit. She said no your just not getting nothing then.Business Response

*** ****** called Abu Auto sales and spoke to the sales Rep, in the conversation, the agreement is to send $250 to hold the car for *** ****** to come and for us to check her credit to determinate how much of down payment is required to finance the car for her, but she elected to send $2000 knowing that the deposit to hold the car is 100% non refundable , the rep called her and explained to her that she needs to get a co-signer or more down payment, she wouldn't do that, then *** ******, call our General Manager and spoke to him, he told her, that he would do in house financing for her, to come for us to finalize the deal, but she would need to pay Tax & Tags to complete the deal, which she refused to do. ABU Auto sales done everything possible to accommodate *** ******* but she refused to resolve the issue, any deposit to hold a car is 100% non refundable, we offered to do in house financing with $2000 + Tax & Tags, she refused, i feel like, hat was her choice to loose the deposit.

I PURCHASED A CAR FROM ABU CAR DEALER FOR THE AMOUNT OF $4950 ON JANUARY 15 2024 AROUND 11AM. AFTER I SIGN THE BILL OF SALE I WAS ON MY BACK HOME AROUND 12PM AND THE CAR START GIVING ME ISSUES WHEN I WAS AT STOP LIGHT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AND IT TOOK A MINUTE TO EVEN MOVE SLOWLY. AS SOON AS THE CAR START HAVING ISSUES I DROVE TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND TOLD ME IT SEEMS TO HAVING ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION AND HE PLUG THE COMPUTER AND TOLD ME THERES 4 ISSUES RELATING WITH TRANSMISION. I CALL THE SELLER RIGHT AWAY AND HE TOLD ME TO BRING THE CAR BACK AND HE WOULD HAVE HIS MECHANIC TAKE A LOOK AT IT.I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK SAME DAY AND CAR GOT WORTS ON MY WAY BACK TO DEALER SHOP. I ASK FOR A DIFFERENT CAR OR REFUND BUT HE REFUSED UNTIL HIS MECHANIC CHECK THE CAR. MY BROTHER CALL SELLER BACK 2 DAYS LATER AND HE SAID HIS MECHANIC HAS NOT CHECK CAR AND THAT HE IS NOT IN GOOD TERMS WITH HIS MECHANIC AND I SHOULD COME TO SPEAK TO MECHANIC PERSONALLLY SO THAT HE CHECKS THE CAR AND ALSO THAT HES NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF REPAIRING THE CAR. AT THIS POINT HES NOT HELPING ME RESLOVE THE ISSUE AND I TOLD HIM I WOULD GET AN ATTORNEY AND HE SAID ITS FINE. I put 1500 down on a Cadilac Escalade from them, drive it and everything seem ok until after the paperwork, not even a mile down the road for the dealer and the truck cut off and didn't want to start back up, I call the guy who sold me the truck and told him this truck just cut off on me and it's not starting. He told me it may need gas so I put gas in it and it still didn't start, after numerous time of trying to get it started it finally started and the man said bring it back hell have someone look at it, after 3 day, I get a call about the truck and the man says it was water in the gas tank but we fixed it just put some new gas in it with some fuel cleaner. So, I did and not even 2 minutes of have the truck I was sitting in the middle of the road calling him tell him the truck cut off aging. He told me to bring it back in he'll have someone else look at it, another 3 days go by, and I get phone call him and he's telling me he has bad news, that the engine is bad in the truck. I asked him what now, and he tells me he has another car not even a truck that I don't even want that he has but I have to put down 800 more for it. so, I asked to talk to the owner so I could get my money back. when I did speak to the owner, he said he's not giving me my money back the only option is to put out `another car and pay the difference or forfeit the 1500. this is not right I didn't even have the truck and it is a scam.Business Response

I bought a car and put a down payment in the amount of 3429.92 dollars. 800 of that was for tag and taxes. The date was 2/23/2023 and still have yet to receive a tag for my car. 3 weeks later my car broke down in the middle of the highway with all 4 of my children in the car. It’s been 4 weeks and my car hasn’t been fixed and they have no resolution for my problem. They have lied and made excuses for a month now. We are down to one car with 4 kids. Well I Bought A Used Car Last Month On The 24th. Tried to take it back the next day but they wouldn't give me my money back. Asked about getting it fixed they kept telling me they would fix it but never did.. well now the car broke down completely I've been asking them since last week to tow it back to the shop to fix it but they didn't. So I finally had my insurance company to get it towed to see what's wrong with it. I told the manager and also went up there to talk to him and he put me out and called the police and signed a restraining order on me. In SC the lemon law only applies to brand new vehicles. ABU Auto sales allows all customers to view and test drive the vehicle before making a decision to purchase. Customers are allowed to have someone inspect the vehicle for them as well before making a purchase.Initial Complaint

Absolutely the most unethical business I’ve ever come across. The owner is constantly arguing with employees and customers. Refuses to stop fleecing his customers. I bought a 2002 ***** in 2007. Paid it off as per contract In 48 payments. Asked For my title and he lied and made up erroneous and false charges for some “system” he says was on my truck that allows him to shut off and on vehicles remotely! Well the fact is I got my ***** it had been on the lot for an hour after purchased at auction. No such systEm was ever installed. He’s lying. Says I owe over 1000 In fees for implementing this device that never existed on my truck. He’s about to get sued for the like 30th time. This scum is everything bad u can imagine. The owner is complete lunatic and screams at people and hangs up. Eleven years ! Eleven years and he refuses to give title saying I owed another 1000 plus. I say this prove that u installed that unit. Becuase i will find the store manager form 2007 who told me “Just showed up in the last hour”. And actually asked me to come back and let them install that device And I refused. Told them it was not on the truck I bought. So let’s put the man in front of a judge and let’s see him cringe and pay ME for 11 years of issues. My lawyers fees and more. Get ready I’m coming after u scum. Now reply to this one and call me a liar. It’s not a lie. ABU and it’s owner are the worst Kind of business. Again this “device” was never installed due to the short time it was on the lot. My car never was shut down and he needs to PROVE he installed it and show the data from the so called shut downs. Because it’s a lie 100%. Produce the mechanic or salesman in court that can verify such a device was Installed. I will produce the manager from that date and she will confirm 100% all I said here is true. Her words “that truck just got here from auction in the past hour “. And then weeks later she called asking me to bring it in so they Could install device. I refused
