I bought a vehicle from what seemed like a legitimate business and two days later my check engine light came on not with a simple problem, but with a problem that goes against inspection in South Carolina the vehicle turned off in the middle of me, driving in the middle of a intersection and almost caused a serious crash Literally three days after leaving the shop . This owner is scamming people telling them that all his vehicles are up to code when they are not, and they actually are endangering lives

Hey Ms.cindy we sold the 2014 Hyundai Accent to ********* ********* on 02/27/2024 they came back on 02/28/2024 for an oil change which I told them it didn't need one but since they bought the oil I would do it for free. The capacity for the engine is 3.49 qt. They brought 4 qts so that's what went on when I changed the oil. I checked the level and showed them before they left.  on march 3 they called saying that they took the car to ******** and it had to much oil and that the check engine light had come on and was throwing a p0441 code (that a evap sensor that is easily replaced) he told me that her boyfriend took it upon himself to remove oil from the engine and that the car was turning off i told him that removing oil from the engine would not do anything for that check engine light and he was welcome to bring to me monday where i would repair the car free of charge. cut to me finding a complaint from the BBB of the upstate. ********* and her ********* show up late to the dealership ******* ** **** and I notice that the car has had another oil change so what that tells me is that he took too much oil from the car and the car has some kind of damage because the engine bay was way too hot from improper lubrication. We put the new Evap Sensor in the car free of charge and told him due to his complaint that we would no longer help him with any car troubles. ********* was explained and signed 2 AS IS warranties and an arbitration agreement so whatever repairs the car needs fall on her. i will attach on this email the as is warranty and the arbitration  agreement.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

Hello, I am providing you with this information because the business is not being accurate with what happened. I called them the very next day that I bought the vehicle to inform them that not only didn’t need an oil change because when I checked the oil because the car turned off on me the same night I bought it I noticed that the oil was extremely burned out. I also mentioned to them about my check engine light, which they then went to tell me to check if my gas cap was on correctly which it was, and they still refused to accept that I’m Telling the car turned off on me. This is supposed to be a car in great condition from what I was told so I went the first day to get the oil change done Because it did need to be done ASAP. It should’ve been done before I even bought the car. And yes I brought him A 5 quart gallon just because that is what I brought if you are a mechanic who knows that only 3.8 quarts are supposed to go in this engine and he purposely admits to putting the whole 5 gallons just because that’s what we brought. Yes, we took out some of the oil and we put the oil line on full instead of over four which is where it was at which can cause serious engine problems, and even a head gasket can blow because of that and a mechanic offering services should have known that from the beginning but that tells me that they don’t know what they’re really doing . When I call them from my cell phone number to address them with the problem about the check engine light coming on they ignore all the calls that come from my telephone number but if I called from a different number that’s when they would answer so when they finally answered from me, calling from A number that is when they agreed to come and see the car on Monday now when they worked on my car on Monday, they changed three parts and swore that the car was ready to go. I got 6 miles down the road when the car turns off again. The check engine light came back on which tells me that they deleted the code without even saying that they truly fix the problem when I call back to tell them that they didn’t fix it and I was trying to figure out how do they not know the issue with a vehicle that was supposed to have no issues they told me that I was to return and leave my vehicle there for days so they can take their time to figure out what’s wrong with the vehicle so I declined their free services as the car was in worst shape, and when I brought it in on Monday and took it to a trustworthy mechanic who knows what they are doing attached you will see the receipts for Tuesday as I went the next day to get what they messed up fixed ! I stand on my complaint. This business is a scam who is working on cars and selling cars that aren’t even up to South Carolina inspection

    Regards,
