I bought a new construction home in Sept 2019 from Hanco Construction. I was encouraged to list the items that needed to be fixed at the end of an 11 month period. That would take us to Aug 2020 for the list to be filed. We were told it could take 30 days to fix issues. After a four months nobody ever called about anything. That took us into early 2021. I finally got someone to call me back and they asked if I turned in my correction list. I said yes but sent another. After several months I would just keep calling back every few weeks and was told someone would be in touch with me. This went on until the end of 2021. One of the items on my list was the HVAC unit because it was not cooling the house to 78 degrees at outside temp of 95 degrees. After calling the Hanco install company and company listed as warranty, they could NOT come up with any solid answers as to why the home is not cooling. Because I could not get anyone to call me back from Hanco, I contacted another outside HVAC company that has been operating in MB for 40 years. I called Hanco to inform them I set an appointment with another company. This company came in and did full inspection and checked levels and charge to the system. After spending about an hour doing measurements and checking lined and duck work, they were ready to provide their answer. I was informed there were 2 major issues. First the unit should be a 5 ton not 4 ton for this size home. Second issue is the upstairs return was NEVER cut so the air could be regulated between floors. That was the reason the A/C would never turn off until around 4 AM. Because it started raining while we were in the attic we learned the roof also has a serious leak in it coming down the exhaust pipe of HVAC unit, I have spent $3600 to date and have made Hanco aware of everything. I was told by the President to read my warranty and they provided me a digital copy of it. I have asked MANY time for their attention.
