We have numerous issues with Floor Authority in ************ and it continued again today. We built a new house about a yr ago and our builder used them, we ended up paying them roughly $40,000 for flooring and tile. Working with the builder they corrected most issues but there was a chronic issue with the shower tile in the master bath. They were ***** tiles and they continuously showed discoloring and mold growth within grout. The gentleman that came to do some of the work is a very nice guy said the problem is when they installed the pennies they pushed down to hard and the grout was very thin. He said we will take care of things when we repair things on 1 yr punch list as there some other minor issues. He came back for 1 yr issues and we discussed. Based on repeated worsening issue we decided that we didn't want a chronic issue and would likely want to replace. He called someone at FA from the other room and came back and told my wife and I that to correct the issue we would have to pay for different tile and they would install at no cost. We said that was fair and told us to go pick out tile. We went and purchased replacement tile yesterday and relayed the arrangement to sales person. I received a call today from Operations Manager stating the person that told us about the agreement said he never said that. He absolutely said to both my wife and I. I told him I would share my story repeatedly and he said go ahead, (challenge accepted) there are many houses being built in our area and I will share my experience to individuals in building process. I repeatedly requested that he dial the installer in to refresh his memory but he wouldn't. He finally had the testicular fortitude to hang up on me. Based on this and other experiences with FA in ************ I would think long and hard before considering purchasing services through them. Also had them replace carpet, they put a 4 ft scratch on wooden floor moving furniture and ripped safe off the wall.
