    Capital Vacations is a scam. They ruined a resort we enjoyed for 20 years after they acquired our resort management company *** and purchased 100 units. Their contract included purchase of 250 units but they reneged on their obligation. Within 2 years of taking over the management of the resort from *** they stopped paying annual maintenance fees on their units. This many unpaid units forced the resort into insolvency. They were trying to force us into bankruptcy, probably so they can acquire it on the cheap. That failed because the resort had no debt and did not need bankruptcy protection. But with insufficient operating funds our resort had to close and will look for a proper buyer. Sad.

    I deeply regret getting involved getting involved with Capital Resorts. What was supposed to be an exciting opportunity to explore travel has turned into a financial and emotional nightmare for me. Im a widower who saved carefully to enjoy lifes experiences, but this timeshare has drained nearly all of my savings.From the very beginning, I felt deceived by the promises and sales pitches. The salespeople painted a beautiful picture of a dream vacation lifestyle, but the reality has been far from itit is nothing short of h*** They made it sound heavenly, omitting crucial information that would have completely changed my decision. My first vacation with Capital Resorts confirmed my fearsI was promised a specific room at ************ and ended up with something entirely different.When I called for help, I was blatantly told to just take what is there for you.The financial toll is unbearable. Ive spent thousands upon thousands of dollars with really zero benefits. My monthly fees, unexpected add-ons, and additional points have become an overwhelming burden. I trusted Capital Resorts, but I now see I was taken advantage of by their deceptive practices. It has cost me sleepless nights and constant stress.I cant afford the timeshare and Ive reached out for help, only to be quoted $14,000 for a graceful exit. I dont have that kind of money! I feel completely trapped with no way out.Capital Resorts has taken something that should have brought joy into my life and turned it into a source of endless anxiety and regret. I wouldnt wish this experience on anyone. If youre considering a timeshare with them, please reconsiderits not worth the financial and emotional devastation I am now living with every single day.     These guys are professional liars. At very minimum make sure you like to vacation where their resorts are. The points seem virtually worthless along with the to go weeks. Also you have like a ***** day window to book its insanely, 21 days before and no later than *****.

    This company lies to the customers over and over again to try to deceive you in upgrading your present timeshare. I was told on several occasions that my maintenance fees would go away if I just upgrade. This was a verbal agreement and even when I signed the papers I verbally said on tape that I was told the maintenance fees will stop, and the gentleman told me yes dont worry about it. We just dont have it on the contract. Then in the first of the following year I was charged these fees. The management texted me back that my maintenance fees will never go away. They completely lied to me to get me to upgrade. This is criminal to take tens of thousands of dollars from their owners.

    Shouldn't be worth one star, I'd give zero if possible. I told them atleast ******************************* pursuing the vacation I purchased and they continue to call my phone from different phone numbers. I've given up on them understanding I'm not interested, I've asked to be taken off their call list and they continue to call. Do not use as you'll never get rid of them and have them call atleast twice daily.

    We were recently in the ************* location and told it would be a brief owners update and they would not answer any questions about our current timeshare we owned (for the last 2 years). They would only discuss their new one and made us sign up for by telling us we could use our points to pay off the down payment and the monthly fee so we did not have to have an increase in what we are currently paying as we barely use it to begin with. They were extremely aggressive, do not listen, pressure you, yell at you, and manipulate their words. We were rushed to try to make a flight (which was known to them prior) and yet they made us miss it and still did not answer our questions. We were told someone would follow up with us once we got home and could go over everything that was discussed again. It is now a month later and we have been completely ghosted by everyone in the office. We have been texting, emailing, and calling. Do NOT go to them or sign anything.

    Capital Vacations lured us in to 'Teach us how to use our timeshare" and that lasted 5 minutes. The salesperson began to practically yell at us and i finally asked him to bring his voice down, He acted like he didn't understand. We are in our seventies but we can both still hear just fine. He told us we needed to go to a points program and using the one he got ok's for us would take out any future costs and give us more points to use on vacations without costing us money. It would be a "wash" and Capital Vacations would benefit by having more clients from whom they could rent their timeshare to show new timeshare prespective owners. I started taking notes and he told me to put it away, he would give me copies of what i needed. i asked to keep a page he wrote on, he said no, i could not take any of the papers he wrote on. He said we would have no payments because we had just updated. all this was suppose to be how the contract read, at which the time of signing we were not to ask any questions, it slowed the process down too much he said. we told him repeatedly we were not interested, didn't want more points, we were too old to have big payments we couldn't afford, we were on a fixed income and retired. He almost had me in tears after four hours. Absolutely assured my husband there would be no big payments, it would be a wash because they would reinburse the credit card they insisted on us taking out, all the charges!! ALL LIES. ALL DECEPTION. ALL CRAFTED TO SCAM INNOCENT, ********** PEOPLE!! we asked to cancel and so far have avoided any action, saying they reviewed the signing and it all looked good. THE PAPERS DID NOT FOLLOW THE SALESPERSON'S WORDS. WE WERE SCAMMED!! would like to select no stars but one is the lowest i could select. Capital Vacations deserves to be insolvent and pay back the millions they have scammed!

    My experience with Capital Vacations has been very disappointing. In July 2022, I purchased a silver vacation package at their North Myrtle Beach Preview Center, but the reality of ownership has proven drastically different from what was promised during the sales presentation. The major issue was the misrepresentation of their points system. The sales representative repeatedly assured us that a three-bedroom beachfront unit at Seaside Resort during July 4th week would cost 100,000 points. However, we later discovered at the mandatory New Owner's Workshop that the actual requirement was 450,000 points - more than four times what we were told. This revelation came only after our purchase was complete, as we weren't allowed to book anything until we attended the workshop. Other significant misrepresentations included: Promised rental income potential that proved impractical due to limited availability - Undisclosed restriction of access to only one-third of available rooms - Incorrect information about points awarded for trading in existing timeshare weeks - False promises about the ease of booking prime vacation periods. Their customer service has been equally problematic. Attempts to resolve these issues have been met with dismissive responses that simply cite contract language. The sales representative who made these promises has been completely unresponsive to our communications. Even worse, when we attended "Owner's Updates" seeking resolution, these turned out to be aggressive attempts to upsell us to higher-priced packages. Despite owning this package since 2022, we've never actually used it for our own vacation (aside from one use by our daughter). Our only visits to their properties have been for mandatory training sessions and update meetings. I cannot recommend Capital Vacations to anyone. The combination of deceptive sales practices, poor customer service, and failure to deliver on promises makes this the worst purchasing decision I've ever made.

    We have been trying to get out of our timeshare for over 6 months, but they wont let us due to the remaining balance we owe. We havent used the package at all. After splitting up, its become unaffordable, especially since maintenance fees have doubled. We no longer want to travel, and my mothers health has declined, leaving me focused on caring for her. Life would be far less stressful without this timeshare. The maintenance fees are outrageous. During the owner workshop, we were the only two people there, and the discussion focused on upgrading rather than how to use the timeshare we purchased. At the initial presentation, we were there for over four hours, repeatedly saying no due to the cost. They eventually came back with a budget plan cut in half, convincing us it was worth it with promises of go weekends and a free trip to ******. Now, were stuck trying to get out with no resolution in sight.

    There are many one star reviews. I add mine to the list. The bottom line is that my wife and I signed on with capital vacations after hours of sales tactics including fear of passing down our existing timeshare responsibilities to our children. We now have an outrageous loan with the 15% interest rate for 10 years. I could not then, and certainly cannot now afford this. I was very happy with working with *** exclusively before capital vacations became involved. I was very clear that there was only one place on the planet where I would go vacation. The sales team while quite friendly and communicative was not rehearsed in the specifics of their new association with ***. I deeply regret becoming involved. I cannot pay the fees associated with the membership, therefore I cannot use the membership. I am still paying the loan for the purchase, the purchase of what? I don't even know what it is I am supposed to own. I understand the only way out is to stop paying. My wife and I have maintained a superb credit rating without one single late payment in 40 years. I do not want to start going down that road, I do not see, however, how I can avoid to simply stop paying.

    Wow, Capital Vacations now claims that they could not reach me to address my issue. I have many emails which clearly indicate the contrary. Capital Vacations has now responded to me only after I sent another email highlighting my concerns. I really feel for the people upon who's shoulders the responsibility to address complaints has been placed by Capital Vacations. I have only heard indirectly that CV posted to BBB that attempts to reach me have gone unanswered. I would very much like to know how many complainants have been put off by this strategy.
