This company is price gouging rentals. I have lived in my current condo for 4 years. They increased the price on me dramatically when they offered my lease renewal. They gave me terrible excuses why it was going up such as "market and holding costs". Holding costs wouldn't have anything to do with it since the condo is currently occupied. They didn't offer to renegotiate until they had already gotten a rise out of me. I would like an apology from them.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/27/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/09) */ This tenants lease is up for renewal. The market rent for identical units in the development is $1300 per month. The tenant has been renting at a rate of $1025. The homeowners expenses have increased (HOA, Insurance, and maintenance costs) significantly. The homeowner offered to renew the tenants lease at $1250, still under market value. The tenant responded to our office with the most vulgar email that I have ever read. The choice of words is at the very least, astonishing. I would be more than happy to submit copies of those emails to BBB as well. Even after the way the tenant spoke to the management company, the owner agreed to offer the tenant the opportunity to stay at a rate of $1200, instead of $1250 as originally offered. The tenant said he would be moving out. We then receive the complaint via BBB. Today, August 9, the tenant requested to renew for an additional year at the $1200 rate. This complaint is not factual and our company is not "price gouging". Rental rates are determined by the rental market and the owners' carrying costs. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/08/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) What she said is almost all correct except I submitted the complaint on the BBB website last week before I heard back from them. That is why they are seeing it now. I am happy to remove the complaint
