    I had a keypad installed by AOD last year. The keypad worked sporadically and then stopped working all together. A technician came out on ********* and found that the keypad was defective and he replaced it. He also informed me that the keypad was still under warranty until ********** and attempted to call his supervisor to inform him so that I would not be charged. His supervisor advised him that I would have to pay for the keypad as well as a $180 service fee. I attempted to call the supervisor who refused to answer my calls. The technician attempted to call back as well, but his calls also went unanswered. In an effort to compromise with the technician, who was in a bad position and who was putting me in a position where I needed to make a decision, I paid $120 service fee for the job. My problem with this is that I should not have been charged ANYTHING since the part was still under warranty. The technician explained that they are required to charge even if they are fixing a warranty item. This is ridiculous. I paid full price for the keypad at the initial installation along with a service fee. It is not my fault that the item was defective and I should not be charged for them to come out and replace it. This is really a very poor business practice that should definitely be investigated. The customer should not be held responsible for defective items if there is a warranty in place.

When I spoke with the company regarding this issue on ********** he advised me that the keypad had a 1 year warranty and that I was outside of the year. This was incorrect as I had it installed on ********** If they did not honor the warranty after 90 days then it would of been a moot point to tell me about being outside of a year. Furthermore, he and the technician that came to my residence both specifically advised me that they would replace the keypad if it was installed within a year. It is obvious that this company just changes the rules when it is convenient for them to do so. I feel that this is very unprofessional and this type of deceitful practice should not be tolerated from any company. I am always required to honor my responsibilities as a consumer and I feel that AOD should be made to honor their responsibilities as well.     In ******** of 2021 I placed a down payment of $4000.00 for my driveway gates to be automated. The tech came out in *** 2021 to perform the install. The technician said I would have to move my gates for the install and wanted the remainder of the payment. I told him the quote did not stipulate my gates needed to be moved and I was not going to move them. I called the business several times to get my down payment back. I sent a certified letter last month. The **** has it as being received, but I have not received the green card back. I enclosed a self-addressed envelop to make return of the $4,000.00. My gates are still without automation and I am out $4,000.00. I need these monies returned.

I have no knowledge of *** coming to my house to rectify the situation. I received a call from the technician he was coming to pick up the remaining funds and install the concrete pad for the keypad. I informed him, the gates cannot be moved. I was in my vehicle with a friend and he was on speaker. I tried to further explain things, but he hung up on me. He did stop by and pulled all the equipment he had installed. Intially he had installed the equipment OUTSIDE the gates. I thought that was peculiar. He later transitioned the equipment to the inside of the gates. He did spend a long time on the phone to the vendor. he could not figure out how to mount the arms. I did submit a photo of the equipment with a setup like mine to assist. My friend will tell you the tech was very rude to me. And driving to my house 2 times in not $4,000.00 of work. I called several times to the main office and was polite. I was told the owner would give me a call and I didn't need to call back. I did call a few more times, since the owner never got back with me. No one has been to my home to resolve this issue. the quote did not state the gates needed to be removed. Neither has anyone called me to resolve the issue.
