    11/6 Submitted service request to AHS 11/8 RR SVS rep Henry arrived. Issue was explained; he checked thermostat but didn't check Heat Pump or motor in attic. Said if he had to come back, he would change out thermostat. 11/12 Issue returned. 11/17 Service request was submitted–no response. 11/27 Called RR SVS 11/28 Henry came. Issue had returned; he began to check the thermostat and as he was going outside, he heard what I had explained to him back on 11/8. He went up into the attic and said the motor was bad. Said he would check to see if one was in the warehouse and if not, would have one ordered immediately; should have it by 11/30. 11/29 It was so terribly cold, we had to spend the night in a motel. 11/30 Called RR SVS and left message. Crystal called back and said the part should be in sometime next week. I told her that was unacceptable and poor customer service. She stated that she has no control of delivery. I also said we may have to spend another night in a motel and she stated “that's your choice”. She called again 20 minutes later; said a supervisor wanted to come by 12/1 between 2-6pm to check the number on the motor to be sure they're ordering the right one. If the part was already ordered as she stated in her first call, why did someone needed to check a number? 12/1 Henry called at 8:05am and wanted to stop by. He went into the attic and I asked if he was a supervisor; I explained the calls from 11/30 and he said he didn't know why she did that. He said he was going to check on something and would call back in 15 minutes, but never did. 12/6 Called RR SVS. Crystal returned call to schedule 12/7 12/7 Henry came. Stated wrong motor was ordered. Said it was wrong for us to be without heat for two weeks. We have been without heat on some of the coldest days/nights so far. 12/12 Mo arrived shortly after 6pm and installed the motor; we finally have heat after more than a month. Rivers Reliable Services “IS DEFINITELY NOT RELIABLE”!

    Repair to my Heat Pump was requested on October 3, 2023. The vendor, Rivers Reliable Services (Rivers) - Hilton Head, SC was assigned to do the repairs by American Home Shield (AHS). After several visits and more than several "no-shows", the repairs were never completed by December 19, 2023. This is unacceptable to be without air conditioning and heating for well over 2 months. This vendor lived up to their many negative reviews and are not a local vendor despite AHS records indicating they're from Hilton Head, SC. They are located in Charleston, SC and their servicemen commute from their homes further outside of Charleston, SC. This distance may have caused the majority of "no-shows" and missed appointments, many without prior notification. In late November, Rivers installed two "mother boards" obtained through my HVAC warranty that were bad but Rivers could not get the HVAC system to run and stated they would send a more qualified technician to address the issue. Several weeks later and more no-shows I gave up and paid to have my HVAC repaired to get desperately needed heat. However, I still needed a circuit breaker that was removed by Rivers who temporarily "hot wired" the power to the heat pump and needed Rivers to return with a new breaker. On December 12, 2023 AHS Escalation Dept. stated that Rivers would be at my home on December 18, 2023 to complete this service. Based on my experience with this vendor, I requested that a different vendor be assigned to this service request and was told to give Rivers "one more chance". For an unknown reason, Rivers was a no-show again on the 18th and finally, on December 19, 2023 I was informed by AHS that they were looking for another vendor and I would be contacted within a day or two to schedule the completion of this service request. That new vendor has the same bad reviews as Rivers! Steer clear of Rivers and AHS since AHS employ poorly rated vendors. Low bidders are their vendors.

    Google made me give 1 star but If I could give much, much less than zero stars I would, the service is extraordinarily terrible, they never answer the phone, 10 messages to 1 return call ratio, they blow off appointments without any calls, and I just found out that the Air Handler Unit that they installed in my attic was installed incorrectly, with old parts, not properly sealed, with gaps in the insulation letting hot air into the unit thus stifling its cooling ability, not up to code without hurricane straps and the unit was not centered on the drip pan meaning that if it leaks it will go directly to the insulation and ceiling causing more issues. On top of that they did not come prepared to install my unit. They did not bring a shopvac, which I let them borrow mine but they lost one of the wheels in the insulation and didn't tell me, they just put it into my garage when they were done and also, I lent them a powerful light (which they did not have one) to help with their work and they took it with them when they left (hard to miss a giant 8x4 inch bright yellow light) and I still haven't heard from them, you'd think they would have known it wasn't theirs and returned it.

    In March 2023, Rivers Reliable came out to fix our leaking HVAC ductwork. Incorrectly connected the system and it cracked again; in May 2023, HVAC ductwork came unattached and was pouring cold air into our attic instead of the house. The Rivers Reliable tech has been scheduled to come out 4 times. The first time, they came out unprepared without the supplies after I told the office twice what was wrong with the ductwork, then the second time didn't even make it out and cancelled last second with the claim that their van broke, and now the right supplies were forgotten yet again when we gave up our weekend plans due to “being on their schedule today but they forgot the supplies again.” We have cancelled and had to change plans as an inconvenience three times now plus miss work one day due to waiting on this company. We have given the company 4 chances to come out and fix it, but they either 1) stand you up and don’t show up and have excuses or 2) show up and suddenly realize they “forgot their supplies yet again.” They now have us rescheduled for sometime NEXT week; instead of making us a priority on the calendar since it’s THEIR bad faith and negligence that it wasn’t fixed over 2 weeks ago when originally scheduled. We are living in a warm house in 80-90 degree weather due to them! We tried to get American home shield to let us use another company under them since it’s under our home warranty insurance, but the tech Henry with Rivers Reliable is refusing to give up the work order, so they’re making us suffer instead. I would never have picked to use this company EVER AGAIN after our experience with them in March, and I believe it is so unprofessional and acting in bad faith on their part to not release the work order so that American Home Shield will let us use a different company.
