    I hired Tim's Handyman Services in mid-June 2024 to do a few small projects around my home. One of the projects was to assess an outside window whose framing had rot. After accessing the window, it was determined that it was more than the framing and the window would need to be replaced. I was quoted and paid 1450.00 for labor and the price of the window, which was $450.00. After working on the window, Tim found that the window did not need replacing and said that I would get a refund on the window - cost $450.00. I have made several attempts to get the refund from Tim's Handyman Services and have been unsuccessful in getting the refund. There were some extenuating circumstances originally; my credit card was hacked and closed, so there wasn't a credit card to credit the refund amount to; his bookkeeper was out-of-town, so I asked for a check to be issued for the refund amount. It should have been issued and mailed to me as soon as possible. Instead, I received a text stating that Tim would be working in my area and would drop the check off that week. The week came and went and when I texted him again about the refund, he said he was out-of-town due to a family emergency. On August 10, he said again that he would swing by and drop off the week. As of this date, August 18, I have not received the refund. I would like to have the refund due me as I have waited long enough for Tim to deal with a very simple issue: a check refund.

    We bought a window to replace existing window. We ended up not needing the new window for the job so we returned it. We have not yet sent money for return window. Customer requested $450 for reimbursement for window, but we only owe her $134. Once we settle on price we will return $134 to the customer.

    I am rejecting this response because: the quote Tim Handyman's Service gave me indicated that the materials for the window were $450.00 as seen on the quote sheet he provided.  He also provided a receipt that indicated a total of $364.52.

    He has been slow to respond and only responded when I filed a fraudulent claim on the charge with my credit card company against the  quoted $450.00 charge, a charge that was debited from his account.

    He has been uncooperative and unresponsive by texting me saying:

    -his bookkeeper was out of town;

    -he will swing by with the check (already made out to me) and drop it off (August 6), which he never did;

    -he's out of town on a family matter (August 10-18);

    -he will swing by again (August 18), which he never did.

    All he had to do was simply mail the check, if it had indeed already been made out to me August 6.

    I would not hire him due do his slow responses and uncooperation when there is any kind of monetary dispute.  I have been asking for this refund since beginning of July 2024 when the work he was hired to do was completed.  It should have been a simply matter to refund the amount not used.  He chose not to and to make it an issue where I had to file a complaint with the BBB and with my credit card company.

    Sincerely,
    Dianne W******

    We do not owe the customer the full cost of materials used to complete this job. We only owe the customer the cost of the window, which was $134, as seen in the provided Home Depot receipt. The subtotal seen on the same receipt includes other items that were required to complete this job, including a window sill, window and door tape, sill moulding, a metal cutting blade, and deadbolts. In addition, this $364.52 subtotal seen in the receipt does not include miscellaneous items such as nails, screws, blades and bits that were necessary to complete this job.
    I think there is some confusion regarding the $450 quote on the provided invoice.  The cost of the returned window is $134. We used all other purchased materials to successfully and satisfactorily complete this job. We owe the customer $134.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    * Tim's Handyman Service has had sufficient time to refund the amount of the window and he has not;

    * I have yet to see any refund from him as of this date;

    * If he wants this matter resolved then I expect a certified check mailed (not handed) to me within 7 business days from September 18, 2024,

    so received by me by September 24, 2024.

    It's a simple matter:  refund me what is due by certified check by September 24, 2024.

    Sincerely,
    Dianne W******
