    I have to consider Austin G***** as your MOST HUMANE EFFICIENT DEDICATED Team Member with WORK ETHICS that are truly dedicated to providing ALL of your customers with excellent service — the “guaranteed accurate and efficient professional service” that all of your mailed advertising promised in the numerous mailings I received and responded to on June 12, 2024, by joining and initiating a Preferred Partner Plan. When Austin realized that I could not afford new a Heating & AC unit, He focused on and made a “pinpointed” diagnosis of my Heating Units’s problem; and tracked down and acquired the needed replacement part and installed the part making sure I would have a working Heater this winter. I am impressed by his humanity, his knowledge and accurate assessment of what was needed to repair the old heating unit and for the special preferred Partner Plan provided. His Personal EFFORT and caring attitude really did make Me Smile!

    They wanted to charge me $5,582.00 to check for leak in my compressor on my ac unit, refill the Freon and replace the compressor. Price gouging at its finest!!! I could buy a brand new unit and furnace for that!!!!!

We wish you gave him a chance to explain the full scope of the work needed along with why this job cost more than you may have expected before hanging up on him but again we understand your frustrations with a costly repair. We are sorry that you were unhappy with our pricing. We do always make a point to provide upfront pricing prior to performing any repairs or installations to allow the homeowner to make an informed decision. Preferred does not charge an hourly rate, but rather for the job as a whole as it includes parts, labor, and warranty. Due to this pricing structure, we are able to provide our customers with services like same day scheduling, longer warranties, and trucks stocked with well over 500 parts, along with a fully stocked warehouse with parts runners. Again we appreciate your feedback, as this information will be passed along to our leadership team so that we can improve our services as we continue to grow.

    Preferred Home Service was prompt in responding and quick in setting up an appointment. They indicated the fee would be $89 which is advertised online as “21-point tune up”. The technician was very nice and inspected the system. I was told the air handler blower motor wasn’t functioning. The evaporator coil was leaking, and the bypass damper wasn’t installed correctly and needed correcting. The quote was $8600. I contacted another company for a second opinion who found the system was fully charge, there were no leaks, and the system installation was completed correctly. The blower motor did need replacement. They quoted $600. Furthermore, Preferred Home Service charged the $89 “21 point tune up”, which shows on the invoice as “Dispatch Charge”. The technician stated he could not test the condensing outdoor unit because the blower motor wasn’t functioning. I was also charge $149 for “HVAC Service Extensive Diagnosis”, totaling $238.50. It was also recommended I schedule a quote for a full system replacement. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this company. I am thankful I work in an industry which provided connections to a second opinion which most people would not have. I’m disgusted with the misinformation provided and feel taken advantage of. (I emailed this review to them as well stating they could try to make this right, and received no response.)

    I was very impressed with their services. Quick response time. Technician was very professional, friendly, and walked me through exactly what the issue was and solution. After the service call, they followed up to ensure I was satisfied. I'd highly recommend them!

    I had Preferred Services come out to service my HVAC for a Y1 error. I looked the problem and the part up, it cost abt $20.00. They charged me $808.00 to replace it. It took less than 30 minutes. Sincerely, Jeff Whittington

    Writing this review on behalf of my retired mother. They took advantage of an older woman who lives alone and then tried to do it again when their shotty work got called out. Don’t use this company! Unfortunately my mother’s hot water heat broke and her two children do not live in the same state and could not help. I give my mother credit, she shopped around and found a company she thought she could trust to install a tankless water heater. New water heater works fine, but 2.5yrs later my mother goes to sell her home and the home inspector hits her on incorrect wiring for the hot water heater. Turns out they didn’t wire the new unit to its own breaker, they just connected it via an extension cord to an outlet. When she called to have the issue corrected, the company first told her to pay $300 just to have someone look at the issue, then after some back and forth, the manager, Jamaal, said he would do her a favor and only charge her $300 to fix their mistake and add the necessary breaker. This was after Jamaal said that even though the manufacturer said it needed a dedicated breaker, it really didn’t need one, but wouldn’t put that in writing. My mom was feed up and said she would have to reach out to BBB and a lawyer because this only an issue because they didn’t do the contracted work correctly/to code. Jamaal said he didn’t need to listen to her and hung up the phone on her. That should tell you all you need to know about their shotty work and even worse customer service.

    Today preferred home service texted me at 1130 saying they were unable to make my appointment today, this is not the first time this company has scheduled an appointment, confirmed the appointment, then canceled the appointment the day of the appointment. Just wanted my experience with this company documented.

    My Rinnai RU98i tankless gas water heater stopped producing hot water. Thomas from Preferred came Monday morning (9/19/22) and quoted me $721.00 to diagnose. He told me Rinnai no longer made that model and he might not be able to get parts, if needed. He suggested that he install a Navien 240A2 which he had on his truck and could install right then. He quoted a price of $6,910.00 to install the Navien and then told me I needed a Halo Ion filter and a pressure reducing valve for my house for a grand total of $8,395.00. Needless to say, I told him I would pay the service charge of $59.00 and think about it. He asked why I didn't want him to install the Navien. I told him the price was excessive and you could buy the Navien model on the internet for less than $2,000.00. Plus, I called to have my water heater diagnosed and all he wanted to do was sell a new product. I called Blitch Plumbing and they were very helpful in diagnosing the problem. Turns out the Rinnai only needed cleaning and flushing and it's working like new. Blitch only charged $228.00 tp diagnose and $228.00 to clean. Incredibly unethical "bait & switch" sales tactics by Preferred Home Services. Stay away! Why does this company have an A+ rating from BBB??? Sorry I can't give less than one star.

We do strive for 100% satisfaction and we do apologize that we were not able to provide that to you on your recent plumbing visit. We are Glad Blitch was able to restore hot water. Preferred Home Services did not give descaling a tankless of this age as an option due to the odds of creating issues. Descaling an 11 year old tankless in an attic posses too high of a leak risk that could cause significant property damage. Our tankless diagnostics quote is set at the price given as the process often takes multiple hours of tests, phone calls, and/or video calls with certified Rinnai technical support agents. Based on the age of the unit and the fact that it is a discontinued model we would still suggest replacement as a better option than investing money in attempting to repair the unit. Also in regards to the pressure reducing valve, International plumbing code states that a residential water supply should not exceed 80 pounds per square inch of pressure. A pressure regulation valve is needed for our company and manufacturer warranties and was quoted once he determined your PSI exceeded code. We also are sorry that you were unhappy with our pricing. We do always make a point to provide upfront pricing prior to performing any repairs or installations to allow the homeowner to make an informed decision.
